Nice hotel, great location; quiet pleasant room; very good breakfast. I would urge the hotel to remove the "moorish slave" sculpture from the breakfast room. Out of keeping with the rustic decor, and a remnant of racist exoticism that does not belong in a European capital (with a racially mixed present-day population and tourists from everywhere including Africa).

The room was comfortable, the included breakfast had lots of options and had an expresso machine so we had great coffee. They would get my husband ice when he wanted it, which is hard to find in Europe. We had room service which was quick and the food was good. We were there for 4 nights and it was a nice ending to our three weeks' abroad.

Excellent hotel. Superb friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast included. Overall pleasant atmosphere in the lobby area to include live piano music.

Nice experience which we have started using instead of the stuffy Grand Hotel. Good location, fresh rooms, nice restaurant and friendly staff.

The hotel is excellently located, only 800 meters from the Oslo S main train station and close to many attractions and the metro. The rooms are small but adequately appointed but lighting is subpar. There is a writing desk and two upright chairs and an armoire but no closet, robes or slippers. There was construction on my floor creating dust and chaos in the halls so sleeping past 7am was not possible. (I spent the end of my trip here and was hoping to start re-acclimating to my native time zone). The staff was nice and the food was good. The spa was the outstanding part of the experience and the therapist was terrific. (I had a deep tissue massage and facial). Overall my stay was OK.

A classic British hotel. Only issue was that to reach the gym, you had to go to the third floor, then find a door leading to a stairway and walk three floors down.

Oslo is extraordinarily expensive. This hotel is not. Because of that, I was expecting this hotel to be middle of the road. It is, in fact, really nice. My room was small but very comfortable. The bathroom was nice as well - only complaint is the fluorescent lighting in the bathroom makes it look cheap. It was very quiet - I was never woken up by another guest, housekeepers in the hallway, etc. The complimentary breakfast buffet is really good as well - lots of fresh foods to choose from.

We loved the breakfast!!! AMAZING! Its 5 star breakfast as far as we concern! Great location! Its sooo close to everywhere, especially shopping centre :)

The hotel is typical classic european hotel with average room size. But the location and the breakfast were AMAZING! Love it!

After an exhausting overnight flight, the friendly staff checked us in right away. Following a short rest, we went to the Winter Haven restaurant and lingered over a wonderful meal. The decor is old-world and delights the senses with its opulence. Glass food cases are lit and display a veritable smorgasbord of choices. The atmosphere is further enhanced with live piano music. The staff was thoroughly professional and helpful. The manager even found us a rental car on a day when all offices were closed. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a beautiful old hotel in a perfect location for walking & sightseeing! Just a block or so off the main thoroughfare, it's both convenient and quiet. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the staff was enormously helpful and friendly. My only minor complaints are: a touch sensitive mini-bar that prevents using it as a little fridge, making some of the rooms radio stations "pay" stations, a terribly soft, worn out bed, and an useless so-called "gym". And the use of low-voltage bulbs left the room horribly dark, making it hard to read, or fill out forms, for instance. If they addressed even some of these issues, I'd recommend this hotel enthusiastically.

THE BEST LOCATION, STAFF ARE SUPER HELPFUL, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST AND ROOMS ARE JUST THE RIGHT SIZE.

Great location within walking distance of museums and castle. Also a short 5-10 min. walk to the National Theatre train station which has express service to the airport frequently.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Central location enabled us to make best use of our time as tourists. Ambiance was pleasant and classy.

Atmosphere was superb -- a great antidote to ubermodern and cookie-cutter modern hotels (which do have their place, at airports for instance!). But for just sitting in the bar and sucking up the atmosphere, Hotel Bristol is a great find. Also location is hard to beat.

Old world charm with discerning and energetic staff.
