this is a business hotel that caters to travelers who takes the Shinkansen train at the nearby Shin Osaka station. While it touted to be near, it is around 10 minutes walk, taking into consideration the terrain (it is not a straight line to the station) and if you are pushing your luggage. that said the hotel is functional, as per Japan standard. The room is of coz small, I took a twin beds room even though I am traveling alone, the room's width is exactly the width of the 2 beds. All TV stations are in Japanese. Basically this is a hit-N-run place.
You can check-in at 3pm, depending on the room availability check-in can be speeded up for cash ;-) then: Firstly, location - 5 min from Shin Osaka station - my business partner right across the street :-) Secondly, rooms - clean, well organized, not big. No wardrobe or safe in the room, refrigerator, iron, ironing board included/available, AC works but averages around 26 celcius - eco friendly ;-) window can be opened, surroundings quiet. Bathroom clean, towels changed daily, with tiny bath tube - sufficent. Breakfast (not included) tasty, japanese.
We stayed there two separate nights so had two different rooms. A stop over pre going to Mount Koyasan and another stop over pre flying home. We returned as we hoped the second experience would be better than the first. Both rooms were heated to 27 degrees when we arrived. Both had air conditioning but it didn't work at all. So despite it being set to a comfortable 18 degrees to sleep it remained at a ridiculously hot temperature all night. The first night we tried sleeping with the window open - traffic noise continues all night and shouting from people presumably on the way home from nights out. The second we tried with the window shut - this did cut out the noise entirely but couldn't sleep for the heat. Breakfast - Ok, not a great selection Bed - hard. Pillow - very small thin Despite asking for a non smoking room our room on the first night was definitely a smoking room - it even had an ashtray provided and a note saying don't smoke in bed. It smelled of smoke too. Given the choice in Osaka we would definitely stay somewhere else next time around. This is a hotel geared to businessmen staying one night only
This hotel is located very near Shin(New)-Osaka station and it takes around 5mins on foot. I went to Osaka on business and I had a meeting with our customer early morning on the next day in Tokyo. Then I needed to take Shinkansen in the early morning. But as I mentioned, it is so convenient that I easily accessed to Shin-Osaka station from this hotel. The staff assigned twin-room for me and it was large, clean and pleasant. There are two convenience-store around this hotel and some restaurants.
Hotel can be found easily as it is 5 mins from shin osaka station. Google maps may help, but Hotel cannot be missed from the street side. We stayed on 10th floor where the convenient coin operated laundry + dryer + soft drinks + beer machines are. Room is bigger then other budget business hotels ad across the street we had a nice dinner + drinks. Supermarkets and of course the station mall are within walking distance. oskaka station is one jr station away. Staff speaks phonetic english, breakfast on B1 floor is mixed Japanese with few western options. The coffee was slightly ok and can be take away. Dry cleaning services worked perfect, they even sew a thorn line in my dress. Only one room card per room, even when staying a deux. Area is business district, so no nightlife, but with nice lunch and coffee options nearby.
I stayed again on this business hotel and this time I was positively surprised. The staff was very helpful as I did a mistake in the reservation and asked for a smoking room. Fortunately, they had a non-smoking available (or was I upgraded?) on check in and they assigned me that one. The room was a renewed one, facing the inner terrace, large one, with 2 big single beds, a big flat screen tv, tea amenities with a kettle and a small fridge. The bathroom was bigger than the usual. Some bathroom amenities and a gown.Everything needed for a comfortable stay.Wi-fi worked well and there was a Lan cable in case of need. Clean room. Restaurants available in the surroundings. Good for a business trip.
Stayed for one night, the entrance you may become a bit confused but the entrance lobby is huge compared with the room sizes. It is a small room but with a comfy bed. In room Wifi, reasonable size tv. The bathroom is small but was clean and with basic amenities, toothbrush and razor, had a hair dryer. As most of the business hotels, the lighting is a bit dim. The room looks a bit tired with some stains in the carpet but the bath towel was comfy. Location wise, it is close to the ShinOsaka station and is convenient. There are some restaurants in the surroundings.
This hotel is reasonably priced and is only 5 minutes walk to Shin-Osaka station, making it a convenient base to explore Osaka. (take pedestrian exit number 4 from Shin Osaka station). The hotel can be hard to find as all of the exterior signage (except a small sign above the entrance) is in Japanese. Familiarise yourself with their Japanese logo sign (the letters in the name alternate red and green – see photos) and you will be fine. The rooms are a little dated, but ok. It does not appear to be possible to adjust the temperature of the air conditioning in the room, it stayed around 25 degrees. This was ok for us but could prove frustrating for those who like it cooler. The windows can be opened but it would be too noisy outside to leave them open all night. In room wifi worked fine. The included buffet breakfast was quite good, with both Japanese and western food available. Staff were friendly but had very limited English skills. Overall we were happy with this choice, giving us a convenient location at a reasonable price
I like this hotel for it's location. I was here during a weekend end of March 2015. It's spring time and it's beautiful time to be in Osaka. This hotel is a convenient location for me as I needed a place to stay for 2 nights. I thought that it will be a disappointment since I have a lower expectation - I was okay.
First point - when a traveller is tired at the end of a long day, he/she doesn't want to play hide & seek with a hotel. It was pure luck that I found this place. I had asked a few people where it was, no joy. I then went into a hotel I was passing to ask - it WAS the Mielparque. But the name on the hotel, which the locals know it by, is something completely different. For Evans sake, why would you have TWO names for a hotel?? Keep it simple, Simon. By the way, the hotel is a bit of a trek from the Shinkansen tracks - especially when you are pulling a suitcase. Second point, my room was terrible. It was the smallest hotel room I'd ever had. I thought "ok, Japan is famous for utilising space. Go with the flow", but then my next two hotels were ordinary sized rooms - so not a Japan issue. Third point, my room was like a sauna because the air-con was pumping out warm air. A fact I only discovered at 4am, when I could bear the heat no longer and opened the window (which I couldn't do earlier as it opened - wide! - onto a public balcony. Where's the security in that?). Fourth point, while they couldn't help solve my room issues, the front desk staff were friendly and polite. Overall, my advice would have to be - find somewhere else to stay.
