We had no reservation. Saw this mentioned in a travel book and stopped in to see if there was a room. The outside was very unassuming but we took a chance. They had a room and the owner Jeff was wonderful. He was friendly, accommodating and we loved chatting with him. Our room was spacious, very clean and convenient to restaurants. We recommend this motel to anyone on the road and needing a comfortable place to stay.
My family and I stayed at the Pac City Inn last month. We had a newly renovated room in a great location. Such a great value, very clean and the staff was so nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our vacation and our stay at the PCI...Highly recommend!
We arrived in Pacific City on a Thursday afternoon on our way down Highway 101. We were lucky to get a rom at Pacific Inn. This is a cute place, with nice rooms ( We got a newly upgraded room), clean, and with very good customer service, at an affordable price. We can recommend this place.
We made a last minute decision to run to the coast for a few days...and we're glad we did. We "found" Pacific City Inn by fluke. It is a truly darling little inn...just a few rooms. It is VERY clean, well appointed and the owners/staff are truly nice, delightful folks. The beds are new/comfortable - and the linens/bedspreads are very nice. The towels are not only NOT the standard white, itchy fare found in most hotels, they are soft and large enough to actually fit around one's body! Outside you may be greeted by the resident inn dog...a very sweet pup who loves a good ear scratch. The owners were helpful with suggestions for around the area dining and "stuff" to do. I honestly can't wait to go back again.
I booked a room online at Pacific City Inn. On the day of my scheduled arrival I received a call from Geoff and he let me know he was going to put us in one of the newly remodeled rooms. We arrived a bit later than expected, but Geoff was there to greet us. The room was very clean and comfy. The towels were super soft. In the AM, check-out was easy. Geoff had fresh coffee brewed which was a nice touch. Geoff also provided us with helpful hints on things to see and a great place to eat in Newport. One thing (and this is just being a little nitpicky) - it had been very warm for Oregon so the room was a bit warm. There was no screen on the back window facing the courtyard, so we could only open the front window for air. A screen on the back window would help with air flow on warmer days.
We were very pleased to find this motel..the price was right and it had most of everything we would want in a room for the night. The lady at the desk was very helpful and accommodating. There was no breakfast but there was coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the room as well as a fridge & microwave. The lighting was good, beds & pillows comfortable and outside at the back a lovely garden with nice sitting area. The toilet was a bit noisy..we heard sounds when neighbors flushed or ran water..the shower stall was small but there was good water pressure. I wouldn't let these little things deter me from staying here again.
I stayed here last summer during my TransAmerica bicycle ride. I arrived in town late at night with weary limbs and without a reservation. To my great relief, I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Geoff who saw to it that I had a comfortable place to stay the night. The Pacific City Inn is well located in the centre of town and close to the beach. I enjoyed my stay, thought the service was excellent and would happily visit again.
I travel a lot and it’s always nice to find a clean motel room with a good bed. The Pacific City Inn is both clean and has a great bed plus the service at arrival was wonderful. The hotels location is close to the beach and downtown. I highly recommend staying here and I will be frequently now that I’ve found it.
This is the second time I have stayed here and it is a phenomenal value IMHO. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the amenities (mini fridge with freezer, microwave and deck overlooking the airstrip) very accommodating. The managers are very nice and were super helpful. This is my go-to place in Pacific City.
Seriously folks, read the many negative reviews on this gross dump first, then stay somewhere else. Be aware that the manager completely lies in his responses, and scams people in various ways detailed in other reviews. We booked this last minute after finding it on BringFido.com. That was the first mistake. The fact that it was the only place left vacant last minute was the first warning we ignored. Reading only a few of the top reviews was the second. This place is not just a run down old Inn, it's foul. At $170 a night it's at best a complete rip off. The moment we walked in the door, we were assaulted by the smell of many layers of animal smells. It was very apparent that carpet cleaners are not used by the negligent staff in this "dog friendly" room, #22 next to the office. The carpet was old and dingy and very obviously permanently stained near the front door. Immediately the dogs went straight for that spot, over and over the night and morning. I have asthma, and immediately had to use my inhaler. My bf suggested we leave, it was bad. I really wanted the beach trip, so we opened every window, and went to the beach for a couple hours. When we returned it was cold, but somewhat more breathable. We had to leave a window open all night to keep the smell down. The kitchenette was barely usable. There was no stove, just an electric grill with a damaged cook surface. The faucet on the sink was literally made of plastic, not firmly attached (wobbly) and did not actually turn on unless in the hot position. The bathroom was tiny, with a shower so small it would be better suited for an RV. They had a sign in the restroom warning a $25 charge for any stained towels. For used old beige towels from grocery outlet? That was another hint about the scam nature of this place. The courtyard in the back had nice picnic tables but was surrounded by many (numerous) very large and molding (old) piles of dog feces and cigarette butts, undoubtedly from the often-smoking manager and his unleashed large husky. None of this should be acceptable for a hotel costing more than $40, certainly not nearly $200. We were very careful to wash our dishes, look for accidents, and scrub them with soap and water before checking out. Like I mentioned earlier, the dogs were obsessed with the nasty carpet stain at the entry. Later when we were home, my partner received a message claiming that there was feces spread around the entire unit, and his vacuum cleaner was destroyed. This was obviously a scam, to sucker us out of another $200. So, nearly $400 FOR ONE NIGHT IN A ROOM THAT SHOULD'T COST MORE THAN $40. This room would be better suited for homeless people, never for suckered tourists. Is it possible there was poo hiding somewhere we missed? Sure, unlikely sue to our diligence, but in any case this this is a pet room, so any cleaning staff should look for poo before ruining their own machine by their own negligence. This is likely a financial scam this manager pulls. I called and confronted the woman who answered. She took my number and said the manager would call me back. He did not. He has not called me or my partner back once. Zero voicemail, not even any missed contacts from Pacific City numbers. Instead this manager flat out lied in his response to my bfs review, claiming we would not return his calls. Look at other reviews-he has scammed people out of money numerous times when they could not tolerate the room after booking several nights. He offers a substandard product at exorbitant prices, and refuses to provide refunds when unsatisfied customers cannot tolerate his soiled rooms. This place is literally a Sh*@ Hole. Save yourself the con-job and stay somewhere else. We've stayed numerous times at the Surf&Sand across the street.
