Was her second time staying here Nice hotel close to beach

I was really disappointed with the room size and decor. It looked nothing like any of the photos. The only thing that was nice & updated was the bathroom. Staff was awesome but thats about it.

Staff identified the problem and proactively worked to resolve with another hotel. Was placed at Laguna Beach house. Those accommodations were quite nice due to recent renovations. Rated room features OK as I did not stay in this hotel.

Out first room was filthy and looked nothing like the pictures online. Nothing. Our neighbors were loud and the room was tiny and smelly. We switched to a slightly cleaner, brighter room but still not what we expected. We ended up leaving and they gave us a full refund with no cancellation fee. Was really excited to stay here and then really disappointed.

This is a mid range hotel, better than motel 6, but no Hampton inn

The hotel had wonderful decorations, comfortable beds, and an amazing view! The hotel provided us with complimentary bottles of wine and sparkling water and made our stay so enjoyable. Hearing the waves crashing at night helped everyone sleep better and the amenities provided in the room were beyond wonderful. The hotel staff were so courteous and my whole family felt at ease! We felt well-rested and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

I come with my kids every year and it's always a great time. The hotel is perfect walking distance to downtown for dinner. The beach is outstanding and the staff as well.

Very nice staff. Views were amazing and quiet enough for us on our honeymoon

I loved this hotel when it was "Vacation Village" in the early 2000's. Since, not so much. I arrived at 1:00 with check-in being 4:00 P.M., knowing I would lounge by the heated pool and Jacuzzi sipping cocktails from the mini-bar cooler I brought with me until my room was ready. Pool ice cold and Jacuzzi even colder. After checking on my room 3 or 4 times and reporting the cold facilities, I was told maintenance on the way. I never saw them. The front desk was supposed to e-mail me when my room was ready, when they didn't I went to the front check-in desk at 4:15 and I was notified that my room was ready. The room was conveniently located over the sand and the view of the sun setting over Catalina Island was breath-taking, but I think if I had booked directly with the hotel, and not through the Orbitz website, they would have gotten me into the room before the 4:00 check-in time. As other guests were checking in before 4:00. The next day, I tried having breakfast in their restaurant before getting an early start back home and was told the restaurant didn't open until 9:00 A.M. Pretty late for travelers heading to the airport. Upon cleaning up and packing up the mini-bar from the counter, I noticed ants crawling on the white napkin I laid out to catch spills. How did ants get up to the fourth floor of the Surf Tower in November? I will just book elsewhere next time in Laguna Beach.

The room was a little strange as in quite big with a support beam in the middle of the room. We were at the end of the building so that could have been why. The white and orange colors were a little strange though. Bathroom was nice and tub was huge. Close to beach and sand and a few shops, market, taco bell, and other restaurants that give you a nice ocean look. It's not over the top, but not bottom of the barrel. If you have a smaller car!!!!!!!! Drive that to this area....NOT YOUR TRUCK!!! :)

Our stay in the Beachfront Reef Tower provided a million dollar view literally hanging over the surf. The hotel itself is mid range like a classic beachside inn with two very good restaurants. Not a luxury hotel but a very nice beach side experience in Laguna.

was pleasant and very enjoyable and i would recommend this hotel to anyone

What a great hotel and the location is perfect. I stayed in the reef tower and it was amazing. Clean comfortable room with balcony directly on the beach. with all the amenities this hotel has to offer and the amazing staff there's little need to leave. Im definitely staying again!

Valet guys are lazy, walls are super thin, workers everywhere being loud and not seeming to do any work. The location is good, but the hotel needs some updates (not in the form of whistling workers at 7:30am)!

This hotel provides amenities like a hotel - room service, on site restaurants, a private beach complete with an attendant to get you lounge chairs, towels, and umbrellas. The lobby is nice and the front desk attendants are friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are no better than what you'd get at a motel 6. The pillows are cheap, bed is nothing to get excited about, the tv was tiny and far from the bed, and the room was generally damp feeling. The door that adjoined two rooms was shabby, thin, and I could have easily put my entire foot underneath it to the other side. The window curtains did next to nothing to keep the sun out. I recommend this hotel if you spend very little time in your room and don't care about your sleep quality - the only redeeming quality is the beach and the attendant.

Booked with a discount and glad we did. Paying full price would've been disappointing. But first, the pros: front desk, valet, and beach staff were EXCELLENT. Pool and beach were great. Location was central. Let us check in early and use the pool while our room was readied. Cons: Maybe more expensive, ocean view rooms are nicer but... We ended up ground floor, by the parking lot, and our balcony looked out on a garage. The room was large and clean, but very empty and old - chips on bed frame colored in badly with marker, chipped furniture, chewed up walls. Traffic noise. And in the EARLY morning, all the restaurant delivery trucks were beeping and revving literally under our balcony door. Cleaning staff in rooms above us were shouting, hammering, and vacuum sounded like a leaf blower. Not able to sleep in on our day off, which was kinda the point. And the kitchen stopped serving breakfast at 11am - prime brunch time for vacationers! Plus, parking is valet only with no warning until you arrive. Only metered street parking, so you have to pay the $27 to park. Overall, if you need a place to crash with access to the beach, this is okay. Not sure it's worth the price tag though.

The hotel is in a great location, near to restaurants and the beach. We had a ocean view room and could see the wales swimming by our hotel room in the morning. It's ideal for a long weekend on the beach.

The normal rooms were pretty basic, but the rooms with a beach view were beyond fantastic! Bathrooms left a lot to be desired, but cute, beachy rooms.

Great Location! The sliding glass door to the balcony wouldn't open. It took about an hour before the door was repaired.

It was one night but located right on the beach to allow us to get some beach time without eating time on travel from the hotel. It was a charming and very clean place.
