Laguna Brisas - A Beach Hotel

The room carpeting was stained in many spots. The mirrored wall had what seemed to be splash stains on it. Then we noticed ants on the counter in the bathroom. The bed was pretty firm. You also have to climb in to get to the shower because the rooms have a large spa tub which based on the condition of the room I previously mentioned, why would I use the spa tub? There is a parking charge per night plus an occupancy tax on top which we thought was interesting. Also, I asked if they offered a late checkout, even 30 min and was told they do not. Nevertheless, I have paid less and stayed at better hotels. The location is right across the street from the beach and that would be the only plus.

Great breakfast. Beach is across street but down a very steep hill and beach umbrellas and chairs provided for guests at no chg. Could not swim due to dangerous rip currents. Nice pool and hot tub. Staff very friendly and accommodating .

We chose this hotel over the Marriot which cost the same hoping we weren't going to miss out on comfort, style and quality, opting for more of a boutique experience We were sadly disappointed. We paid extra for a premium room however, saw nothing in the room that made it premium. We were told by hotel staff that it had been upgraded more recently than other rooms which is why the price was higher. I feel like I paid extra to cover the construction costs of room that was refurbished with average craftsmanship at best. ie recessed lights not seated completely. There are no amenities at this hotel other than a small OLD pool on the top level. We paid extra for a breakfast to be included that was almost exactly like Comfort Inn's breakfast that I had the displeasure of having ONCE. Our circumstances were a little different in that we were traveling on a motorcycle, it was raining lightly at check out time and politely asked if we could have a late check out to let the rain pass, for road safety. Check out is at 11 am, they have us an additional 30 minutes is all even though the check in time is much later at 4 pm. We felt they had little consideration considering we were checking out on a Monday, not a busier time like Saturday. They did offer to allow us to hang out in their 70 square foot lobby sitting on the only couch in the place if we choose. Bottom line, way too much money for what you actually get. Back to hotels of the same price that have way more to offer.

Hotel under construction no where to hang cloths the sunna tub one of the main jets did not work. The timer for the sunna tub was clear across the room where you would have to get out go across carpet that you would get a charge against you if you got it wet. Good breakfast. Good parking. Little disappointed that you get a $50.00 hold on your card for damages to the room, but staff would walk thru it with you. To check it out. Also it now cost you $20.00 a night to park at the hotel. Never used to ?. Maybe after construction I would change the ratings. that you

The staff went above and beyond and to a person, treated us remarkably well. Maybe the best guest experoence relating to customer service I've ever had.

Excellent! Everyone was super nice and accommodating. However, the Hotel is coming close to needing an update, things wear worse on the beach and this one is starting to show. Overall great stay, great location - walking distance to everything, and great price. I've stayed there a bunch of times growing up and would recommend to anyone.

Check-in was a disaster. Tired from a long drive, I was told full hotel and no room up-grades. I am a Platinum member of Best Western with their rewards program, Gold Crown Club, and am entitled to a free upgrade if the rooms are available. I know for a fact the hotel was not full and I believe I was told that because I booked through Orbitz and not directly with Best Western Central reservations. I waited in the pool area for three hours for my room to be ready and they said they would call me as soon as my room was clean. I left the front desk attendant my cell phone number and said I would be at the pool. My room was ready two hours later but the front desk was calling my home phone instead of my cell phone to tell me my room was ready. I finally went to the desk and checked in at 4:00.

We had fun with my family. Small TV for the karaoke. Clean rooms. Overall nice stay.

This was a great location in Laguna Beach. The pool was heated to a very nice temperature and they also have a hot tub. The free full breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries, fruit, hard boiled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, cereals, choice of juices, plus more. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. However, there are some issues with housekeeping at this hotel. If they can get these straightened out, this would be a decent hotel. It was a little pricey compared to other hotels in the area and they charge $15 per day for parking -- a little excessive I thought.

My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway. This is a great hotel right on the PCH within walking distance of shops and restaurants! Not to mention the beach is right across the street. The staff is helpful in making suggestions too! Very clean hotel with a good free breakfast! Overall a lovely hotel! Will go again!

It is a long-ish walk to town (maybe a mile). The beach is okay (did not use as the algae was high). The room was very comfortable and there was a spa in the room, which was nice. Breakfast was standard -- no gluten-free cereals or bread options. We had a basement room so it was dark and cool, which was great because it was a hot weekend. There was free parking for one car. Clean.

The hotel was clean, close to the beach, and the pool was a great diversion for our grandson, when we didn't want to make the trip to the sandy beach. We were there in the summer and got to take advantage of the trolley for transportation downtown

We love coming here. Great place to relax. Love the hotel, location, breakfast.

Laguna is a small arty beach town, so is pretty laid back. Positives: the location is fantastic, walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff are pleasant and try hard to accommodate your needs. The beds are comfortable. Complimentary breakfast, with a good range of options. Negatives: small rooms/bathrooms in need of updating, noisy main road traffic, outdoor areas cramped, small pool, jacuzzi not functioning, areas of the hotel smelled damp and musty. I was ready to move on after a couple of nights.

the hotel stay was okay and, pillows could have been a little thinner

Great location and parking was good too! We walked around and drove around the city. Weather was great and room was comfortable!

Great location great view clean room friendly staff

Review might be clouded by the great time had next door at restaurant/club Mozambique. Live music, way more girls than guys, 8 hot 30-something women dancing with each other most of the night. And this was Thursday night. When does that ever happen? Ownership is obviously really trying to upgrade this older property. Huge two person spa tub in corner of room, not bathroom. Great finishes. Balcony with chairs. Peek of the ocean. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and beach. Downside is road noise from Coast Highway, but it dies down during sleeping hours. With some rooms in Laguna Beach going for $500+ this is a deal. I'm staying here again.

THE HOTEL IS CONVENIENTLY LOCATED, CLOSE TO THE BEACH, RESTAURANTS AND DOWNTOWN LAGUNA. MY ROOM HAD A BALCONY WITH A TABLE AND CHAIRS AND A VIEW OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN. THE STAFF WAS COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE, THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN, AND THE BREAKFAST WAS ADEQUATE. I PLAN TO GO BACK IN THE FUTURE AND WOULD RECOMMEND THE HOTEL TO MY FRIENDS.

in room jacuzzi s,,,patio with ocean view....nice pool...
