Hotel Laguna

The Hotel Laguna's lobby is filled with historic photos of early Laguna Beach. The restaurant in the hotel--Ocean View Grill and Cafe--deserves its popularity both in food, service, and view of the Pacific--and on a clear day Catalina. The upstairs corner room where I stayed looked on to the main road--the well traveled Coast Highway--lined with shops and restaurants. The hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs for guests (perhaps with traffic noises in mind) though I didn't use them. There were few electrical outlets in the room (an extension plug/cord behind the bed), a small wall heater, and older bathroom tiles and fixtures. An unsightly structure in the handy closet surprised me. While the room was not first-class in my opinion, the housekeeping and reception desk staff were. The friendly atmosphere won me over.

I booked the room because I was in a wedding there at the hotel and needed someplace to relax while getting dressed for the event. The Laguna is an older hotel and could use a facelift in terms of paint, however, my visit there was great.

Great location, within walking distance of the Pageant of the Masters, restaurants and shopping.

Very friendly staff including good food in the restarauant.

Great location. Every time we come to Long Beach we leave our car with the valet and don't usually need it again we are checking out. On the water and walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

A no nonsense hotel, clean (but old), fairly quiet. Great breakfast downstairs, lots of high end restaurants across the street. A few steps to downtown Laguna Beach.

The hotel was great. Very quaint and low key but with a lot of history which made it very unique. Location was literally in the middle of everything and was amazing! Especially the partial ocean view room that we had. The business however, had a lot of extra hidden fees including deposits, cost of having a frig and also parking, which can all add a lot of additional cost per night if not careful. This was the only thing that i didnt care for too much.

Good location. Terrible stay as there is no air conditioning. We askws for a stand ul fan and we were given an eight inch personal fan. Make sure to request a room NOT facing the west.

the hotel is in the middle of everything. we had no car, walking distance to everything. everybody at the hotel, from the front desk, maid service, and the beachfront pool guys, were absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can"t wait to come back.

I loved the hotel. Extra amenities. Clean. Contacted the hotel about one incident. The spa was very fun. The hosts very gracious. Room very clean. We spent our days in Jackson Hole snowboarding.

I stayed in this hotel for one night. We had the garden ocean view. Overall good place for the price it was comfortable and clean. The restaurant they have has very nice ocean view but pricey. They do give a 25% discount for breakfast. Would definitely recommend it.

If you love quaint and charming old hotels at a good price... This is a good one. Don't book a room with city view, it means loud street noise. It is a great location and walking distance to almost anything.

The hotel is showing it's age for sure, but it's in a great location and on the beach. The issue is the staff. They are not friendly at all and did not greet us despite walking by the front desk numerous times. One other note about the hotel: the walls are thin, so you can hear people walking around, etc. above out.

Room is small and looks nice enough, but there was an old musty smell you can detect now and then, despite their efforts to cover it. Nice ocean view, *great* location. If you can get used to the smell, it's a decent hotel for the price.

I liked it. It was clean. It is very close to the beach and restaurants.

Very friendly staff (with a few exceptions), clean and comfortable hotel room, and a location that cannot be beat! Would definetly stay here again in one of the partial ocean view/beachfront rooms!

The staff are fabulous, quick to take care of needs, polite and engaging. The room was very clean, the beds are marvelously comfortable. The resturant was great and very accomadating for special diet needs. The only complaint I had was no complimentery in room coffee, room service charges for delivery, or you have to get dressed and go to the resturant. A coffee cart in the lobby would be great...or even better coffee in the room. The location was perfect, easy walking to the whole village.

The hotel was amazing! We had such a good time there. We were a bit skeptical since some of the reviews said that the rooms were dirty or that the Valley View room was hard to sleep in because of the traffic sounds. None of this was the case for us. Our room was just a little bit hot which was our only problem but we were only in the room to sleep anyway! The hotel has a delightful private beach where you can order food and drinks and the staff there was so friendly and helpful. I loved this cute little hotel with the most amazing view and the town is so close, we never even used our car. Great place! Will visit again.

Right on the beach in beautiful Laguna. Next to great restaurants with amazing views. The hotel itself is fine, its certainly not modern and looks it, but its clean and comfortable. But if you are not staying there for the beach access and views, then might as well stay somewhere else.

This was a fun get away. I really enjoyed the hotel and it's location. It was right in the heart of the whole town and all the great shops. I liked that the hotel had an exclusive Hotel Beach area, to sit and order drinks!!
