Room for 4 persons..big enough with fridge and microwave.

We did not stay because the only room they had was on the second floor and there was no elevator. My partner is handicapped and could not walk up stairs.

Ordered a non smoking room and was put into a smoking room, didn't want to refund money even tho I have asthma. Horrible experience.

Close to beach, shopping and restaurants. Very quite neighborhood and felt safe. AC didn't cool down the room so it was hard to sleep.

I had to visit the area. The hotel was nearby. It has easy access to freeway, therefore only minutes away from areas of interest . The staff were nice and professional. The room was roomy and clean. Thanks for your hospitality.

After I was given a better understanding from the hotel manager that I couldn't cancel my reservations. I wasn't cool with the hotel at all. It smelled bad, the tub was peeling. My room tv was ancient. The comforter on the bed was old and torn. I liked talking to the manager he was cool after our confrontation. I would only go back to say hi to him but not to stay.

Dissapointing... We opened up the door to the room and was greeted by a musty odor. I checked next door to see HIE had a room available to switch to, it was full. We quickly went out and bought two kinds of air fresheners. This followed by a broken tv remote (replaced by staff) and a hard mattress. We hoped the old A/C unit wasn't pumping out any nasty bacteria into our lungs overnight. Woke up with a sore back. Took a shower (worked well, hot water)... And left. We will never stay at a two star again.

We love the location and staff but the facility needs some serious renovation

My girlfriend and I wanted to go to Newport for a friends birthday party and wanted to stay close to the peninsula but not have to pay an arm and a leg for a room. The room was $85 and we quickly found out why...it smelled terrible, there was mold on the ceiling, and there was crack heads walking in the parking lot. I had to have a few extra drinks just to be able to fall asleep. Upon check out we needed a couple extra minutes so we asked for a later checkout. They gave us an extra hour which was appreciated. As we were getting into the car the so called "manager" verbally abused us and asked us how we would like to pay for the extra time we spent there. I talked it out with her and she made it very clear that we weren't welcome back..I expressed to her that we wouldn't come back there if they paid us and that they should probably get their mold problem fixed before the health department shut them down. Needless to say this place is disgusting and should be avoided at all cost.

HAD REQUESTED HANDICAP ROOM, BUT ON ARRIVAL WAS TOLD THEY NEVER RECEIVED REQUEST INFO. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION MANAGER FOUND SOMEONE TO SWITCH RESERVATIONS SO I WOULD HAVE A GROUND LEVEL ROOM. ROOM WAS QUIET, CLEAN.

went to costa mesa for the sand sports show at the orange county fairgrounds. the hotel was nice and it was close to alot of places i wanted to go to, it was great

I received exactly what I expected: old, but well kept building, good service, location could not be better for any needs in town. Very clean. It was quiet even on New Year's Eve night (must be good insulation in the walls). Refrigerator, microwave, iron and coffeymaker completed all my needs.

The owners were not helpful -- because of family circumstances they wouldn't give me back my money for the day I didn't stay there. Would never stay there again and [...]. I am very unhappy about it.

I was attending conference at "More Expensive Hotel". This was very convenient hotel to stay at and drive everyday ~10 minutes to Fashion Island. I basically only slept there. The room was old and somewhat run down, not kept up well, but clean. The office staff was super friendly and helpful. The downsides were that the A/C heater unit was, as another pointed out, under a desk. You did have to get down to turn it on/off or adjust it. The remote on the TV did not scan through the local channels, but you could key them in. The shower head was very low. I am 5' 5" and had to duck to wash my hair. The tub and sink were old... I wouldn't want to bathe my children in them. It was CLEAN, but run down. Room had a fridge and microwave that were clean. Not at all a bad deal if you don't mind these things and like the cheap price. I actually would stay there again as long as I could shower the kids.

Location was great, very close to everything we ended up doing. Liked that the room contained hair dryer, microwave, and a fridge. Beds were not the most comfortable but what i would have expected. Ac unit worked great! Only thing I didn't like was the smoke smell our room had, despite the fact it was non smoking. Great room for the price.

very clean, every day close to public transport and highway good stuff (friendly and helpful)

Staying at the Days In in Costa Mesa saves you money while being close to the beach. The room was clean and having the desk was nice being that I had to check in with work while I was staying there. It gave me a place to put my laptop. The room was good in size and being that I am a woman traveling alone, the camera's in the parking lot made me feel safe.

My friends & I have stayed at The Days Inn in Hesperia before I moved up here and were always pleased with the accomodations. I expected the same experience here. I registered between 1-1:15PM. The clerk said the only room available was on the second floor, back in the corner by the stairs. (I am one month shy of 72 yrs.-not handicapped, but not as agile as I used to be.) I asked him if I had to climb those stairs and he said that that was all he had. I was rushed for medical appts. I had made the trip for(&didn't want to drive home in heavy traffic) so I accepted. Of course I tripped on rough concrete stairs, scabbing my knees, but fortunately for Days Inn, I only suffered embarrassment and no fractures. Then discovered that the only way to adjust air conditioner was to get on my scabby knees (under a vanity shelf). Altogether a miserable experience.I'd rather drive home in traffic!

The Days Inn in Costa Mesa was much like many of the Days Inn's I've been staying at lately...run down, poor management, and bad clientelle. I witnessed the owner completely cussing out - and then firing -a housekeeper, and generally, the grounds were not kept well at all. But, I was only 3 miles to Huntington Beach.
