It's nice to walk around the harbor and look at the boats. They keep it very clean. The walls have not been insulated so if you have a noisy neighbor it can get loud. I have asked for a room change a couple of times and the staff was very helpful and understanding. My only disappointment is their breakfast. They always had a wonderful mix of egg and continental covering almost anything you would want. Now it is basically a waffle and cereal breakfast. For me I consider a egg and bacon breakfast as a $20 reduction in the cost of the room. Always a bargain hunter! But it is still a bargain price and great location.
No housekeeping and had to walk to front desk for towels. Housekeeping carts refused to give us towels. Was told this is due to Covid. Would make sense in 2020, but this is just a cost cutting reason. Rooms are old and dirty. Non-smoking rooms but when we returned one night our room smelled of smoke because someone smoked outside and the old air conditioning vent pulled the air into our room. Will never stay here again.
My room had not been cleaned when i arrived. Front desk kindly gace me another room. Communication priblem with staff.
The location is very nice, set away from traffic and commerce in the Dana Point marina some very nice walking along the marina frontage, one of the better Free breakfast I've had is offered in the hotel on the pool deck, several good coffee and food shops close by , the catalina express terminal is walking distance, the property is older but offers a nice stay
Air conditioner didn't work. Only one uncomfortable chair on patio. No maid service. Extremely expensive snacks available for purchase at front desk.
Man at the front was very apathetic and didn’t care to help. When we arrived at our room there were large bags of trash and dirty sheets, as well as, trash that had fallen on the floor, right in front of our door. We had to move the bags and pick up the trash to get in. When we informed the guy at front he said “trash is suppose to be at our front door.” Then after asking him several times he finally said he’d tell someone to remove it as if we were asking for extra service. They ran out of clean towels and he said that there was no telling when they’d be washed and ready so we couldn’t get any and there would be no guarantee we’d get any later. The shower was clogged and gross. Curtains were coming off the rail which we fixed ourselves so that is something housekeeping could have taken care of before guests arrive. It wasn’t an enjoyable time unfortunately.
It was a great place and we had a lovely time.
Manager was awesome at check-in, very helpful and friendly. Some rude customer was demanding towels, interrupting my check-in but the manager on duty handled it well and went the extra mile to ensure guests were satisfied. Will definitely stay here again, best value in Dana Point.
Property overall was okay, a bit dated looking. I have only two complaints. The room carpet was very old, stained and had numerous divots. I also found two dead cockroaches in the room, one on the carpet and one in a cabinet. Friendly staff, great location, easy parking.
I have stayed at the Marina Inn numerous times and have been happy with my stays. The property is older and looking to be revamped, but its still a very comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and of good size, the beds comfortable and all the amenities needed are there. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The included breakfast in the morning is plentiful, good selections and tasty. Complimentary parking is included and I would recommend a room looking onto the harbor for the best views. Lots to do around the harbor; restaurants, bars, shopping, boating and beaches. The hotel is situated right on the docks in a nicely maintained park. Large pool with a hot tub and a small fitness center are also available. Enjoyable stay at reasonable rates with a great location.
This is an older property, that has been very well maintained. It is located between the best waterfront dining and marine activities and everything is within walking distance. The staff is courteous and genuinely helpful.
