Art Hotel Laguna Beach

Hotel is in the process of being updated and rightfully so. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and pointed out some breathtaking spots to walk to a block away on the ocean. Good food close by. A bit noisy on the pch but convenient.

Great staff, quiet location with some restaurants and stores within walking distance without all the bustle of the downtown Laguna Beach area. Looks like the upstairs hallway floor is being replaced or worked on (?) but our room downstairs and pool area were great for a fun weekend getaway. Easy drive to Crystal Cove State Park, Newport Beach and the 405.

great location and the most welcoming staff ever. The hotel is very close to the beach and has many great places to visit near by. I would love to stay in this hotel again. Thank you to the owners! They made us feel like home.

Great location, easy access to beach and free trolley to town. Pool on site with pool towels and beach towels provided. Mini fridge and microwave make it easy to save on eating out. So nice to have an easy place to park too!

Decent place to spend the night in Laguna. Close to shuttle stop that takes you into town.

I had a great time in this hotel! It was a happy brithday of my wife.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this pet friendly hotel .it is across the street from the Pacific Ocean and within walking distance to the beach. The pool is a delight with original artwork decoratin the enclosure.

I expected a somewhat eclectic art decor given the name and location but found a bland and dark room. It was clean. The bed pillows were unbearably hard. The front desk staff was helpful.

The hotel was really close to the beach and easily accessible through the free summer trolley. The room was super clean. There were many towels available and the bed and sheets were very very comfortable. Gail, at the front desk, was very quick to check us in and check us out.

Room with "ocean view", was more expensive, but we had a slanted view of the ocean, not good enough to advertise as Room with "ocean view", and charge more for it, totally misrepresented. The pool was very dirty, we were unable to use it. The lady at the front desk, probably the owner, was not very friendly. So called breakfast was one fruit and a granola bar, no coffee. They should just not offer "breakfast". 100% sure a gold graduation ring was left in room, by mistake; it was never found, nor returned. Very disappointed, it was not a very expensive ring, but it had a lot of meaning. I am sure I didn't lose it anywhere else, because I only would take it off to go to bed. I know I should've been more careful, but some honesty from hotel staff would be expected, and appreciated.

First off, this is a small hotel with the owner on site so check-in was preferred before 8pm although they called me and let me know I could check in anytime. Pets are welcome in the 1st floor rooms only and no extra charge! That was nice. This is an older hotel which I would classify more as a motel due to the room doors leading directly to the outside and size. Room was clean but dated. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are in the room. The TV service was great with lots of channels and nice new flat panel TV. Free underground parking - plus! Quiet rooms even though you are right on PCH. Owner was very helpful to guide you around the area and can provide any advice for your Laguna Beach visit. ENJOY!

Fun little hotel. Great service. Comfy bed. Jacuzzi tub. Art for sale in the rooms and lobby. Great location across the street from the beach. Walls in room had a lot of scuff marks, which made it look a little shabby; clean room, otherwise. I wish the rooms were a little prettier. :/ Across the street from the beach. Down the street from all Laguna has to offer.

If you are a finicky person do not pick this hotel. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. Walkable to the main beach area. There were some stains on the carpet. A few cracked tile in the bathroom. Was comfortable but not updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer beach chairs and even an umbrella for your use. There is a trolley that runs most of the day up and down PCH. I would stay again.

The room was clean, neat and nicely decorated. We experienced no real problems of any magnitude. Parking was a bit tight at times. On street parking is expensive and problematic. We were there on a week end when the town has a shuttle service that will take one downtown at no charge. Altogether, I doubt the facility can be beaten on price given the area.

The Art Hotel Laguna Beach was a nice little getaway. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Unlike many smaller hotels, this one has a fantastic tub! Each room features the art of a specific local artist - a nice touch for an art community. We also got to see a local artist working on site doing a mural in the pool area. The manager is obviously involved in and proud of this community and it was nice to see that personal care and desire to help us love it as much as she does. Beach access is very close (Shaw's Cove is a great spot) and "downtown" is just over a mile and a nice walk. Restaurant recommendations given at check in were spot on. We would definitely return!

Comfortable pool area, room ok, but bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Town was nice.

I'm not usually one to post about my experience, but I felt it necessary for this trip. We arrived after a 5 hour drive to a room that smelled like cigarettes and there were clumps of hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor. I wasn't offered another room, as they were full for the weekend. I waited while housekeeping cleaned the bathroom and was given a mostly used candle and box of matches to try to remedy the smoke smell in the room. The staff didn't seem too worried that we were less than happy and offered nothing for the inconvenience. The location was the best thing about the hotel.

First trip to Laguna Beach area and couldn't have been happier with the Art Hotel. Friendly staff and ideal location to access downtown Laguna Beach area and spectular views only a few blocks from hotel.

First, My husband were so impressed with the women who was was working at the front desk, she was kind, helpful, informative. She made our trip much more pleasurable. She gave us restaurant information, beach information, which beach our dog will enjoy. The rooms were clean, the decor was updated, the beds compfortable.

I was looking for something between Newport and Laguna and this fit the bill. Unfortunately, I was astounded at the conditions for the price. The clerk as the front desk was nice and very helpful, however, the rooms are very old & tired and a bit smelly. Linens are thread bare. Also, don't count on the hair dryers as they are straight out of the 70's and without any drying power. Had I not paid approximately $129 per night in-advance, I definitely would not have stayed. Location was okay, but, many blocks from downtown Laguna. I felt duped and ripped-off when I saw the room. Owners need to invest in some renovations.
