Price/Quality very good. It was a quick stay, but enough for the time planned. Close to the city and with good accesses. Breakfast is also with a lot of food. Restaurant is big enough for everyone staying there.
I stayed couple of times in this hotel. It is very easy to park, supermarket is 100 meters, river is just 5 minutes to walk, nature is amazing. Good wifi and good restaurant. Only once, I could hear my neighbors from another room bit too much. Staff is very helpful, very nice.
Stayed here for 2 nights of a bike tour. Safe, locked bike storage. Room OK, nothing special but comfortable and with the window open at night for air it was very quiet. Breakfast was fine. Hot option scrambled eggs/bacon each day. Various cold options. There is a good size Spar supermarket just a minute from the hotel, great place to buy supplies. Free WiFi.
We stayed for 2 nights at the end of January and despite the very cold temperatures we were greeted with a very warm hotel. Reception were great even before we arrived through their quick email replies and they organised breakfast hampers for us as we had early starts to the morning. The rooms were standard but comfortable and clean. We had an enjoyable meal in the hotel that was not too expensive. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel provides a basic, budget style accommodation. The room was a good size with flat pack furniture and sufficient space for clothes storage. It also had a small balcony, though this only looked on to the car park at the front. It was clean. The breakfast was very acceptable. All in all, nothing really to complain about given the price, though the description of Ooij as "delightful" is a bit over enthusiastic! It seems to be a place used by cyclists touring the area.
We stayed at several Fletcher hotels to take advantage of the €10 per person per night vouchers we'd got from the Dutch chemist chain Kruidvat - they have this offer twice a year so it is worth looking out for. The Fletcher chains own website often has last minute special offers at cheap prices. We weren't expecting much from the hotel in Ooij. It was the last Fletcher hotel with availability when we wanted to go, and none of our Dutch friends had heard of Ooij. However, it was within a few minutes bus ride of Nijmegen, and the Ooijpolder area looked good for a cycling trip. The hotel itself was indeed nothing special, but the rooms were clean, if basic. However, the bar area was awful - looked like something from a 1960's youth hostel or village hall. It really needed a thorough makeover! Unlike a lot of other Fletcher hotels, the hotel was reached fairly easily by public transport, without a fifteen minute walk at the end. It was in the centre of Ooij, if the small village could be said to have a centre! Whilst the Fletcher Hotel does have a restaurant, this serves fairly standard stuff, and has poor choice for vegetarians. I would recommend walking 15 mins to the nearby Oortjeshekken restaurant, where we had the best meal we've had in five years of living in the Netherlands. On the plus side for Fletcher, their bike hire service is great! It cost us €10 each for a full day, and the hotel has a whole shed of bikes, all of them new and well maintained. We bought a trail leaflet from the hotel and did a very pleasant trail of around 30 km. To sum up, a fine place to put your head down for the night, but eat elsewhere. A good position for exploring the local countryside and also the city of Nijmegen.
Standard in everything, many things can be approved, however price and what is offered are well balanced. What can be improved is the bar area - absoluty not inviting. Apart from that the employees should be trained a bit better about how to handle special offers. Positives, breakfast and the surroundings for those who love nature.
Everything in the area was pretty expensive, so we stayed out in this little town. It was still a bit pricey, but the best considering. The room was good. Great free wi-fi. Great breakfast. The balcony had a big enough gap on the bottom for our 1 year old to fall through. We didn't get the crib we'd requested. The shower floor is the same as the bathroom floor, so water gets pretty much everywhere. Fortunately they had an elevator. Easy parking right in front of the hotel.
We stayed there for one night on a visit to close-by Nijmegen. Pretty comfortable and the breakfast buffet was nice. We considered it great value for money when compared to the rest of the hotels we stayed on during the trip. We would return again.
We had been there last year for the first time. We liked it but noticed room for improvement: noise, for example. So this time we booked a room on the ground floor, with no connections with other rooms. Good, spacy, clean room. As Ooy is a tiny village, life after 20.00 hrs. is non-existent and so is the noise. No trouble with noisy neighbours. The choice of food for dinner is limited but quality is good. We can recommend the "chef's specialty" being fish croquettes He also produced an excellent musterd soup. Breakfast was ok : nothing out of the ordinary, but who wants out of the ordinary for breakfast?: Overall service was firendly. A very pleasant stay,indeed..
