I booked this motel based on the reviews here and was not happy about the actual stay. Other reviewers' claimed the breakfast was amazing and worth the price alone. The breakfast options were very poor. All that was included was a few bagels, mini cinnamon rolls, Fruit Loops, juice, and coffee. Luckily we had eaten out the night before and had leftovers to eat. I booked the stay based on that alone so that was a let down. Many other places are probably better in this price range and closer to the zoo. The room seemed really grimy. Our pillow cases had stains on them and the sheets had some holes (cigarette burns?). The microwave was missing the plate inside, the sink head popped on and off, the shower had low water pressure and the tub got backed up with water. It eventually went down after showering but this place is definitely in need of a plumber and some renovations. I didn't get much sleep as the mattress was really old and uncomfortable. We only stayed a few hours overnight to go to the zoo, but we were both pretty eager to leave the motel. I wanted to write a real review as I feel other glowing positive reviews are probably fake to get people to make reservations. The breakfast is not worth it to stay here.
This is a small hotel but very good rooms. Washbasin is different from other hotels but it is ok. Breakfast is small but fresh. Staff is very cooperative. We are here for our business meeting & if you are passing through you can stay for one night. All the best!!
I made reservation on-line, giving my credit card to hold the room for $77 per night. When I did not get a confirmation number, I called. They would not honor the rate, saying their website was not updated. The real rate was $102. (When I checked several days later, their website still said $77). I asked to speak to the manager and was told to call back the next day. Instead, the manager/owner had a clerk call me to say he would not honor the rate I reserved. I decided to hit redial and call back. I was told I had the wrong number. When I checked in, I recognized that voice by a notable accent as belonging to the owner/manager. (Some unkind adjectives come to mind about him. I will leave them to the readers' imaginations.) In speaking with the front desk again, I made new reservations for 3 people. I asked for a wheel chair accessible room. There were none available. They said they would give me a room on the first floor though. When we got there, they said they had no rooms on the first floor...our room was on the second floor with no elevator. When they were reminded of the first floor commitment, they took almost an hour to have a room ready. They were quite impressed with themselves for being so nice to us.This was at 6 pm. I later leaned there was a staffing shortage and many rooms went uncleaned. While their website stresses pet friendly, there was an extra fee for my wife's 10 pound ADA dog. There was also an extra charge to have a third person... this was not mentioned when I made my reservation. The free breakfast was worth what they charge for it. On the positive side we liked the maid and bartender.
the television in the rooms is not even flat screen. must be very old, water spot on the carpet. we purchased this for one night because it was supposed to be a 2 1/2 rated star hotel. more like a One Star. sufficient offering for breakfast. the internet didn't seem to work very well, either.
I stayed here for 9 days. They staff is top notch. They made my life much easier. Thanks to the housekeepers and the cool guy Ryan at the front desk. Sapp Brothers truck stop is nearby. Hardees is right next door with truck parking. Very convenient place.
The staff here are awesome. Very respectful and professional. I stayed in room 320 for a few nights. It was clean, and housekeepers are friendly and do a treat job. The free continental breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of attractions in the area to please the whole family. From restaurants, etc. I appreciate the kindness my family was shown. Respectfully, Ms. Fleming and family.
Older motel but clean. I 've stated in $500 night rooms that went as clean. And because it's older there are no water savers so you have real water pressure. Great shower. Definitely will stay again..
This is a great hotel. people at the desk were so nice and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Customer service excellent, the room was clean and there is a fridge and microwave. Also there is a bar and the service is great. I definitely will go back.
The people were pleasant, Beds were comfortable, the breakfast was basic. Bagels and cereal. The hotel is just off the highway and easy to find. the bar was kind of scary for a single gal so I did not go there. the room had a fridge and microwave which was nice. Excellent Mexican restaurant across the street behind McDonalds. Only one complaint, the toilet clogged and I was asked to use the public restroom for my final morning as there was no maintenance man on site Sunday morning.
Front desk people were very friendly. Room was OK. Asked for nonsmoking room. Still had a smokers oder. Breakfast did not look good. Only kind of cereals was kids cereals. Did not stay for breakfast. Probably would not stay here again.
