Candlewood Suites Olive Branch2.5 out of 5.0

Our family left Florida to avoid Hurricane Irma. Our journey took us all the way to Olive Branch. We inquired online about dog-friendly properties and were referred to the Candlewood Suites. Having just spent three nights at a very poorly managed, dilapidated and overpriced hotel in another state, we felt lucky to find any place available that would accept pets. We were very pleasantly surprised with every aspect of our stay at Candlewood Suites. The staff was very pleasant, engaging and accommodating. They treated us like family. The entire facility is squeaky clean and very comfortable. The room was cheery and much nicer than we expected, with a full-size refrigerator, a stove and microwave. Towels and washcloths were premium quality, nicer than at most other chains. We did our laundry on-site in a very nice, brightly lit laundry room right off the main lobby. Candlewood Suites offers a lot of amenities for the money, too many to mention in this review. We will seek out Candlewood Suites in our future travels.
Everything from Security to cleanliness was great, except their internet. Between 7:30-10pm good luck on doing any work online.I was there over a week, and the problem was every single night. There was 1 night where it was almost tolerable, since there was very few people checked in. Staff is great, fair price, and convenient location.
We stayed on a Saturday night (Labor day weekend) while in town for a Cross Country race. Location is good. Staff was nice. The design/decoration of the hotel is odd - not really the feel of a hotel at all. Were a number of people hanging out in the halls, giving the idea it might not be the most secure (though we did not have any issues). Room was just ok. Bathroom wasn't completely cleaned, spots on some of the linens for the bed. It did have a small kitchen area. Enough space between door and doorframe that you could see light -- and any noise from the hall was easily heard in the room. I understand they are in the middle of updating the hotel, but wouldn't be my first choice and didn't really match up to expectations for an IHG property.
I recently stayed at this hotel during a last minute trip. I must say that this was the BEST decision I could have made. The room was clean, spacious and well maintained but my 5 stars goes to the front desk clerk Valerie. She was professional, friendly, and just down right amazing. You wouldn't have know she was working a double shift. She helped me in a stressful time and made me smile. All I can say is Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I must say this was best hotel ever!!!! I loved my room and bed so much. After reading comment's I'll be first to admit nothing is ever gonna be perfect. My husband company paid for us to stay there a week. We was truly overwhelmed with all the hotel has to offer. Needless to say if you are looking for great hotel to stay in for long period of time this is by far the best. Only problem I did see was the front desk clerk in the evening was not a happy camper very rude other that that I enjoyed my stay. Will be back
The room is spotless the staff is very helpful Rodney,Mario, and Joshua are very helpful. I average about 10-14 nights per month and left their competitor to start staying there. The rates are very fair
Our second time staying here and as before, excellent! If you've never stayed at a Candlewood you should know this is catered more to extended stays. You don't get maid service every day and there is no breakfast. Now, if you don't need those then great! This location has friendly staff, clean rooms, free guest laundry, a borrow cabinet for borrowing small appliances or games and a small nook filled with a variety of foods and beverage. We've always been happy with Candlewood's and this locations is excellent!
My issue was as a travel nurse, I should have received a better rate after staying for 2 months and had planned to stay for another 2 months. My rate increased and it was a $500- 600 hold on every week. The manager or owner informed me she had a high overhead which as a customer was not my concern. I will continue to stay at other candlewood suites across the country but not this one. At check out after getting a late check out, the housekeeper asked me twice when I was leaving. Rude! The front desk staff were the best!!
It was Very apparent the front desk clerk was not interested in his job; our stay or much of anything when we checked in [read: sorta like pulling teeth - JUST DO IT ALREADY - we're tired and would simply like to confirm our reservation, get a key, etc.] Front Desk staff in the morning was a whole different story. Very congenial, alert and interested. Bed was comfortable; room was clean. Didn't feel Un-Safe, but we didn't leave ANYTHING in our vehicle. The location leaves a little something to be desired. Had a good night's rest at an extremely reasonable price [location, location]. We would stay here again if we had to, but will find a better location next time we're in the area.
This is set up for long term stay so it doesn't have some of the amenities like breakfast and daily housekeeping which was fine and reflected in the price we paid. The king size room was spacious and clean and the shower was terrific. It is pet friendly and they have a dog walking area but unfortunately the doggie bags were empty so we had to use our own. When I informed the front desk he said he didn't even know about the pet area! Hopefully someone will get the word and refill it. The strong door closers on the rooms are a negative. Anyone getting up before you has the door slam on them and wakes everyone around them. We much prefer the doors without this feature in other stays. They are hard to open and negotiate your bags in. This is located in an area of car sales lots which threw us at first, but found it to be very quiet. Down the street is a Chili's and a Charley O's, the second of which we enjoyed for dinner.
