Super 8 Old Saybrook

Recent guest reviews

Room seemed clean, but smelled of cigarettes. The pillows and bed were so uncomfortable. Towels in bathroom were as thin and small as paper towels. The room next to us partied on balcony till 4 am called management to ask them to take it inside/quiet down, were told to call police. I don't feel it's the police's job to manage your guests. Group was back outside by 630 am. If you're looking to actually sleep in a hotel this is not the place for you. We live in CT and stay in that area few times a year to visit family/do things in area. If you're looking for a cheaper stay the motel 6 is a better option.

The room smelled unpleasant, very damp, and water dripped through the bathroom ceiling. To be fair, it was probably one of their worst rooms, since they had lost or never received the Orbitz reservation and didn't have the room we had reserved.

The manager was very kind and welcoming. The room was recently renovated!

non smoking room and room smelled fine/ clean but bathroom smelled horrible. mildew and smoky

Rooms were newly renovated and clean.. staff as very friendly :)

For the price the hotel was ok. The free breakfast is nothing more than watered down coffee, a banana or a bowl of cereal or cinnamon roll. Dunkin donuts only a quarter of mile away. Hotel was clean bed was ok. Plenty of hot water Ac worked good had to turn it on when I arrived wasn't turned on prior to my arrival, took four hours to cool room down. But all in all not a bad place .

Got in late but easy check in. Room was average but clean and comfortable

One of the cleanest motels i have ever stayed in., the owner is a very warm, personal person.

very clean room, and great service we will defiantly stay here again.............................................................................................................................................

Clean room and courteous staff, but very expensive for a strictly average room

Convenient location, the price is ok, no surprises. Exactly what one would expect from a two star motel. Seemed safe and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were attending a wedding down the road and needed a room for three. We were looking for beds and not luxury accommodations, this fit the bill.

The staff was very friendly & considering the poor reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. The flat screen TV was huge, the room was clean & did not smell musty as most motel rooms do. The location was perfect, right near a Dunkin Donuts, supermarket & other necessities. Great for the price.

This was an affordable, spacious room in a convenient location. It smelled a bit like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. Beds are firm (which I prefer to overly soft, but these were very firm). We were able to stay here with our two kids (with a crib included) after a fun day in Essex for Day Out with Thomas! Make sure to check out the views of Long Island Sound, only minutes away.

When we arrived our room wasnt ready. Had to hunt down house keeping for extra towels.bc the guy at desk told us to go look for housekeeping.

The staff at the hotel was very attentive to our requests and very fast in responding to them. The ironing board and iron had some problems and they replaced each quickly and graciously. The location is very good--right off I-95 and one block from Route 1.

Don't stay here unless you like having LOUD commuter trains running not 100 yards from your room every hour or so... very below average rooms, uncomfortable beds and pillows, towels that are paper thin...etc....this place is really bad in all respects.

This hotel is your average hotel. It was clean and they have a pool. The best part is the location-within minutes of the outlet malls and near resturants.

Continental breakfast - good coffee. Or can go to Dunkin Donuts nearby. Comfortable bed and good shower. Managers pleasant.

the pillows were very flat and there were only 3 on a king size bed The towels were worn Although everything was clean

The hotel is conveniently located just off the Boston Post Road and very near a highway exit. The room had a fridge, a big TV, an actual closet, enough heat. Room and bathroom were clean. Free breakfast is minimal but that's all I need. It's nothing special but it served my purpose: I went to Old Saybrook to visit family, not hang around the hotel.
