The Rougemont is a 3 1/2 star facility directly across the street from Exeter Central Railway station and within easy walking distance to the cathedral and downtown restaurants. The room was clean and quite. One note of warning. The lift/elevator only goes up to the third floor, so if you have any heavy luggage or a difficulty climbing stairs, make sure you request a room on floors one, two or three. The stairs to the forth floor are many and in one area, quite narrow.
Great location. Beautiful public areas. Rooms small and simple, worn carpets and furnishing. Amenities befitting a 2* hotel, not 4*. Bedding did not even fit the mattress. Pillows and mattress were past their lives. Towels left on floor for replacement were simply re-hung on the rack. Requested an adjustment on our prepaid stay. Non responsive to complaints to corporate office after on site manager referred us to contact them.
