Ojai Valley Inn is a nice resort to stay at but since it has so many rooms, I could tell that maintaining them is difficult. I could tell because there were a lot of scuff marks and stains on the walls in our hotel room specifically and the toilet constantly ran. Other than that, the Inn was nice, but I don't think it should have cost as much as it did. It reminded me a lot of the Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, CA, which is 1/2 as much per night.

Amazing hotel & grounds. Way more than we expected.
Went to the Ojai Inn for a birthday weekend and had no idea it was the large campus/golf/spa corporate feel type of hotel that I found it to be (I know it is privately owned and not a corporate entity but it has that aesthetic). The positives: lovely hotel staff, amazing views, fantastic hotel restaurant. We also went to the Christmas tree lighting that weekend for which the hotel provided blankets to sit on and warm drinks. The local public high school band played Christmas tunes and it was a charming event, especially seeing all the children dancing about. As far as the room itself, however, we felt less enthusiastic. While it had all the usual high end amenities that one expects in a hotel with its rates, it was charmless and the bathroom (although it had a great, super deep tub) had a weird glass divider separating the toilet from the sink area, which my husband and I both bumped into in the middle of the night. What the function of this structure was is beyond me, certainly not privacy, since it was glass and opened onto the rest of the room anyway. I guess some people think toilets are ugly? Also, not to nitpick, but the pillows were way too squishy for my comfort; I suppose I could have asked for firmer ones but didn’t. Room service did bring me a cupcake for my birthday, however, very sweet.
We enjoyed our room immensely-- having the view and fireplace added a lot. Thanks for the upgrade. The room was very comfortable -- the beds and pillows were terrific. We will certainly recommend your beautiful facility. I LOVED my massage!
