This is an older motel but it clean & quiet. The bed was good to sleep on. They do allow pets. You can have food delivered by several places in the area. We ordered out every night. We do visit the area several times a year.

Went to see an Upper Iowa University football game and all the closer hotels were booked so grabbed this one. The good, it was cheap and the beds were comfortable. Arrived at 12:30 am and had to wake up the manager and she let me in the office wearing her jammies, quick easy, workman like check-in. Struggled with key to get in but managed. 2 Full beds, microwave, mini-fridge and old tube tv but all worked. Carpeting worn and stained and bath in poor condition with moldy shower area, filthy old towel used as a curtain for the window and some dead bugs stuck to the ceiling. My family wouldn't use the shower! Room was about $50 and I described it as the lowest level of room I would stay in in a pinch but would seek other options first.

We came here as a family all the way from Indiana to celebrate the 4th. We were greeted at the motel with a horrid smell of meat coming from the unclean fridge in our room. We couldn't even bathe our 1&4 year old children due to the excessive amount of mold in the tub. The floor was covered in stains and the bed sheets had burn holes. The motel itself was unwelcoming and the staff spoke little to no English, yet they still cursed at us when we complained about the condition of our room. If you come to this area for whatever reason DO NOT STAY HERE!

Dirty place! Poor English and unfriendly service. Stay at Super 8 or in another town. You'd be better off staying in your car. This is a hotel for local drug users and teen parties, not a good place to try to sleep at night.

This is a great, old fashioned, motel. Has a large grassy area in front with picnic tables and grills, and behind it is a city park with lake, playgrounds, picnic areas, and camping. A beautiful place to stay as a group. We used it for our wedding guests, were able to eat breakfasts together outdoors, played in the parks, wonderful setting. We wouldn't have had such a gathering space with a chain hotel. Yes, we had to bring our own shampoo and breakfast, but with a refrigerator and microwave it was easy. There is also a wonderful hometown café across the street in walking distance. The bathroom vanities and sinks were newly updated when we arrived. Clean and cozy. The owners were very helpful with anything we needed.

This is one of the worst motels I have ever stayed at the key didnt so I got a different one and I had trouble making that one work the tv does not work there was no outlet for my computer I will not stay here again and the price seemed higher then the last time I was here which was not that long ago

The sign outside of town says one price for a single and that pets were welcome. When I checked in there was no one else at the motel, but they gave me a smoking room, even though I am a non smoker. I was charged double what the sign said plus $10 for my pet. I could not hardly breath in the room I was given. I turned the heat on and left for two hours, when I returned the room was still cold. They said they would check it. After another hour it was still cold. I would not recommend this motel, and I am not a picky person.

I'm not sure what motel the bad reviews stayed at but this place was perfect. Small town motel with friendly staff, clean, quite, great internet, next to a beautiful park and lake. I loved it! The front desk staff was really nice. My car would not start and the front desk guy helped me with a jump. I liked it so much we booked a room for next March.

I called for late check in and couldn't understand the young woman that answered. She was friendly when I arrived but still not understandable. When I went to my room it has to be on the too 10 worst places I have stayed. The hard mattress and flat pillows were the worst and I ended up sleeping in the 1970's recliner in the room. The sheets has mysterious stains, I slept on a blanket out of my car from home. The bathroom was clean but so outdated. I would never book here again. I reserved two nights but will be checking out and coming back. My car is more comfortable. I can't believe I drove 6 hours from St. Louis to this horrible hotel. I am checking into having taken off the Expedia site as a possible place to stay! Yuck!!!!!!!

Do not let the fancy website of this motel fool you. This motel is a dump. Room was dirty. The towels stunk with odor. I complained 4 times last night about the noisy construction workers in the room next door. The wireless internet is extremely slow. Manager's wife told me they would have coffee at 7AM, went to office in morning and she said coffee would be at 8AM. Do not stay here. There are much better motels in the area.
