Great location to local restaurants, and attractions. Facilities, and some added touches by the staff. Just off the interstate, and within walking distance of the mall. Fast food and higher end restaurants are also nearby.
Again meets the needs....safe, clean, convenient....after that just a place to stay on way south. Would definitely stay there again if need arose..heavy scent when went in room which always concerns me some since could be masking pet or smoke odor but not making that suggestion here...just thinking.. Price a little more that we had been paying but snowbird time so not surprised..give them a go if in need of a nights rest in Ocala.
We decided to stay there, when Irma passed by... After that we tried to relax in supposed a confortable hotel, we watched tv, and one of us checked around, we have surprised for that thing, make sure before....
This place should be closed down! From the dimly lit portico which goes to the dated lobby, to the dilapidated elevator, to the dark outside catwalk to the room, to the atrocious plug in air freshener to mask the filthy room, to the grimy light switches on the walls, to the indescribable item we found under the mattress to make sure there were no bedbugs....this place is horrific. There are no words to explain how anyone can give this place more than one star!
Had to find a room for the night due to pest-control problem at the in-laws. (Fleas, not the in-laws! ha ha). They had a quiet, clean room available far from any smokers. Comfortable bed, plenty of pillows. Shower pressure terrific. Breakfast was terrific, loved the waffles and the orange juice. I was pleasantly surprised that there is an outside elevator so we didn't have to struggle up a staircase with our luggage.
Our first time here wasn't great due to the maintenance man outside our door that night, but we decided to give this hotel another try and we were very pleased. We stayed on the second floor pool side. There was hardly any noise and we were happy. We will stay at this hotel again.
Thank You kindly for being right there for us when we needed a pet-friendly room , as we escaped the dreadful hurricane Irma. Nice hotel, peaceful vibe & the women @ the front desk deserve highest praise for their proper assistance during such an extreme weather event... JENI & Lynn in particular made our stay a great one when we needed to relax & regroup due to the storm. These women sure could teach many in the hospitality industry today what extraordinary proper customer service is all about. I will share with all of my contacts & I can't thank you ladies enough! My very 1st visit to Ocala was lively thanks to you ~ Aloha Uni Loa
Room was clean, but needs an update. Carpet was lifting up in several areas. Lots of mold and rust in the bathroom because of the humidity and no bathroom fan. Staff were friendly. Woke up too late for the free breakfast.
Actually, the room could be a 5 if some upgrading were done. It is sorely in need of more racks for hanging towels and wash cloths. The desk chair needs replacing. Repainting the bathroom would add to the looks. Some changes need to be made in the WiFi. More outlets to accommodate the many gadgets that need charging is a must. I bring my own adapter for that reason. With that being said, the bed is very comfortable and the climate was great on a very hot day. The service personnel did their job with a smile and caring attitude. The price was commensurate with the product. The cookies at 8 PM was a nice touch.
Room was OK. Cleanliness was OK. Breakfast was OK. Told the girl at check in that I wanted a quiet room as we were very tired. She said she'd put me by the elevator. I said no, not by elevator or ice machine. Road noise was a little bothersome, but we were doing OK. Then at 8:00 a maintenance man decided to remove and replace a light just outside our room door. He removed the light and left. At 9:00 he came back and at 9:50 I asked him to leave as we were tired and trying to sleep. He said he'd be there until his shift ended at 11:00. I called the desk and asked that they get him away from our door immediately. He left, but by then we were pretty upset. Nothing was offered as an adjustment or compensation for our stay.
