We arrived at 3am and were greeted well by a young man at reception. Due to a frightening experience with a yellow taxi cab driver from the airport to the 'lodge' he said that he would upgrade us. Well ..... (lovely thought though) we had to take our luggage from reception to the room - ok, to be expected. What we didn't expect was on opening the room door, it looked as though there was someone already in there. On a little more investigation, but not a lot, there wasn't, but the bed had not been made up and all the dirty linen was piled up on the chair. Went back to reception with all the luggage, by which time it was now 3.30am. Another key was given and a very kind driver (of the hotel I believe) helped us with our luggage. The room was ok. It was on the ground floor, large with a large double bed. Nothing on the floor as I think I recall. It was cold. The bed clothes were few and far between. The toilet and shower (is that what it was?!) have to be seen to be believed. At least the toilet worked! In the morning, well a couple of hours later, we went for breakfast, which was included in the price. Hello - there was a very limited choice of 'things' to eat and drink all off polystyrene plates with the aid of plastic knives, spoons etc. What more can I say, other than the staff were reasonably amenable and accommodating. Were taken to the hire car firm in the hotel transport. Were told on the way that Oakland was an up and coming area - ????? I am afraid to say that it has a long way to go. We shall not be going there again, even if the flights are cheaper via Oakland, it is not worth the stress.

We were stranded in Oakland, needing to be at the airport by 5:30 the next morning. Very little vacancy in the area and reviews for Econo were decent. We were expecting a truck stop motel until we saw it from the elevated BART track. It looked like a dive and we were reluctant to take the shuttle in. Surprise was with Khaled, the driver, check-in clerk, and general fixer of all problems. He was a huge help to two weary travelers and we arrived at our surprisingly large and clean room. I have stayed in worse rooms in expensive hotels. Fridge, refer, coffee maker, and on site restaurant (food was great and well priced). Kind of a crappy A/C, but it kept the room comfortable. Great water pressure. If ever at OAK again, will stay here.

Everything was fine but the last shuttle is at 12:48 am so it was very hard making that time fit into our arrival. Most other park and fly hotels have 24 hour service so that would be the only thing that is not good about this hotel for parking fly

Antenna TV that skips, faces, cuts out? Only stay here if you really must cut costs. Mush deferred maintenance here. Isolated from anything within walking distance. Generally outdated and unattractive. BASIC

First I'll tell you, This is an older hotel. It is clean and accomodating, but it is an oler hotel. The staff was more than helpful however. They allowed us to check out late because we had a later flight. Checkout time was 10:30 I believe and they let us check out at 12:30 no questions asked. Easy transportation to and from the airport that is very reliable. Overall, we would stay here again for sure. These guys did a great job.

An older hotel, but very well maintained. Some of the opinions on here are older and may not reflect how it is now. Our room was large, clean and even with the BART running it was quiet, we slept well and were very comfortable. The shower is an older type but very clean. Very pleased with our one night there and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. Convenient to the airport and a very secure place to leave the car until our return. The shuttle driver was on time and dropped us off right at the front to our airline, very prompt in picking us up on our return trip. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. Would stay there again.

I had an early morning flight out of Oakland airport two weeks ago and rather than risk the heavy morning traffic I booked into the Econo Lodge. I had stayed there last year and while the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the room looked worn and in need of an upgrade. When I opened the door to #104 which turned out to be the room I had occupied during my last visit, I was in for a very pleasant surprise. The worn carpet had been replaced with a wood floor. The walls had been repainted and the old bedding replaced. As before, the bathroom was comfortable with a long granite counter on which to place everything. The Econo Lodge rooms have free wi-fi, a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and a flat screen TV. There is breakfast served until 9 am. In addition it is possible for a small extra fee to leave your car at the Econo Lodge when you head out of town. They have a shuttle to take you to and from the airport. I checked the rates for all the hotels and motels by the airport and they were the least expensive. The Econo Lodge is a good bargain and the next time I fly out of Oakland I will return there.

Do not stay in this hotel or any hotels owned by Choice hotels. The room smelled like smoke and strong cleaning chemicals, the room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty with the towels having brown stains on them, they rent out a hall in the middle of the hotel property and let people play loud music until 11pm. The AC unit would turn on for less than a minute and than shut off on its own, to save the hotel money, There was homeless people roaming around the property. The staff is incompetent, the General Manager refused to give me a refund after not even spending the night at their disgusting, noisy hotel. I called the Choice hotels customer service line to get a refund and they did not do anything about it. Never ever rent from any Choice hotel again.

OMG this place is gross never stay here. Grimy little motel. i would never, false advertising the website is so wrong. Looks nothing like it. And the room smells then when we called the front desk they sent us a bottle of fabreeze.

I have stayed here many times for early flights out of Oakland. Simple, basic but clean and the staff is always helpful and on time. The adjacent restaurant is excellent although no wine!! And although there were kids playing in the pool this time it was a happy enjoyable sound.
