Property is as advertise. Mattress needs to be replaced.

Close and afforadable, could use a good cleaning. Exterior walls, walkways were dirty / stained as can be.

Front staff very friendly. Clean large rooms. Good location. Close to shopping center and freeway..

This was our first time staying at Castro Valley Inn and we were very happy with our overnight stay. Room, lobby and overall property appeared to have been recently updated, everything was clean and well maintained. Continental Breakfast (pastries, tea, coffee & hot cocoa) was well stocked & clean. Desk Manager was very friendly & helpful. Great location for our travel needs with nearby shopping plaza & eateries. Will make this our hotel of choice when visiting Castro Valley.

We booked this hotel and paid an extra $50, because it looked reasonably nice from the outside and said ”breakfast included”. The so called “breakfast” was coffee and prepackaged pastries. This is NOT breakfast! What’s worse is that the hotel owner even commented that “Well, they don’t have a category for us”. So, they basically lied! This is extremely misleading! We are on a long trip and wanted a hotel for the night, breakfast and on the road. As it was we had to go out, find a restaurant and l pay an additional $40 for breakfast. Very disappointing!

Decent location and looks nice from the outside, but the room smelled a bit "ripe" and there were bottlecaps under a table (and a beer left in the refrigerator). Cleanliness felt barely adequate. Also "breakfast" is only coffee and a couple prepackaged danishes. Staff very friendly.

Very nice, very friendly. Would stay there again. In great neighborhood. Stores in near distance. Easy to get to.

First, the hotel clerk was very rude with a threatening manor. Cleanliness was a big problem. Once in the room, we found half a subway sandwich that was hard as a rock in the fridge. The bathroom was not clean, toilet was dirty and not working properly. The breakfast consisted of stale packaged Danish. Overall this was a horrible stay.

I have stayed at the Castro Valley Inn a few time over the past few months. It is located in a nice , safe location. Parking is ample, and food options etc.. are within walking distance. This is a basic no frills, clean and well located place to stay. If you want a spa and valet parking this is not your spot. But fairly priced for what it is...

Dirty, lamps didn't work, dirty curtains, Kleenex holder falling off wall, walls dirty. Won't ever book a room there again. Outside looks nice. VERY deceptive!!

If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton look elsewhere.. this is a basic, clean, well maintained hotel in a good location. Stayed one night for business in the area and was very pleased. Again if you want amenities and room service this is not the place...

My wife and I spent four (4) nights at this hotel in a handicap accessible room on the first floor. It was spacious and well maintained. It had a table and two chairs, besides a desk and a chair. There were night stands on either side of the king size bed, which was pretty comfortable. The lighting was very good throughout the room and bathroom, which had plenty of room for moving about. The TV, unfortunately, was an older tube type and didn't have the best speakers for hearing it over the loud air conditioner's fan. The hotel was right off the 580 and had a Safeway shopping center right across the boulevard, which included a Subway and a Panda Express. The manager was very friendly and helped solve a problem with the thermostat when it got stuck and the AC kept running. New carpeting was being installed in the room next door on the day we left and I believe they were going to do our room next.

Parking lot was full of construction trucks parking was tight! Internet was no good would not connect to my laptop after several attempts and calls t I the front desk. No help. Good thing I had Hotspot on my cell phone. TV was very old and only had a few channels avaliable. Over all it was quiet and clean but not great.

Right off the freeway,by gas and grocery store. Easy commute to SF. Wifi was touch and go. No free breakfast

Our towels were dirty, and were so threadbare that they had holes in them. The bed was so uncomfortable and we had difficulty sleepin. The staff was nice and that was the only thing worthwhile about our stay.

On a value-for-money basis (given the general high prices in the area), this motel was surprisingly good. It was not posh, but perfectly acceptable, and I'm likely to return. The owner is helpful, and the housekeeper took care of a couple of minor problems that needed attention without my even asking. The location is pretty good for access to the East Bay area, with a freeway entrance just across the road. The room I was in seemed to have been renovated within the last couple of years, so it was up to snuff.
