One of the best resorts we've stayed at. A real effort was shown toward accommodating guest needs. The rooms are all excellent. Exposure to nature was phenomenal - with plenty of forest and beach to explore. Location for other tourist and activities was good - not far from Port Douglas, but 45 minutes from Cairns.

My fiancé and I went here with minimal expectations, just looking for a getaway with close access to the Great Barrier Reef. This resort was beyond accommodating. The surpassed our expectations with amazing food, drinks, and service. They also provided us with transport to and from most any location and recommended awesome activities and onsite nature walks!

Nice quiet place with pretty ocean views, great staff, private individual cottages that have comfortable beds and big modern bathrooms.

It was so fun to stay in our own little bungalow in the rain forest!

Location is really lovely about twenty minutes outside of Port Douglas. Enjoyed my little bungalow - and there was a little lizard who greeted me, snuggled up in the bath tub. Views are beautiful and the property is very large. Be prepared to do a lot of walking unless you have a bungalow close to the main building. Restaurant was great!

You can't beat the views, the service or sheer relaxation that comes with this hotel! The staff was very helpful and gave us some local information and insight that made our trip unforgettable. (Make sure to visit Thornton Beach along Cape Tribulation Road if you're headed to Daintree - it was recommended by one of the staff and was one of our favorite stops!!) There is a shuttle ($8/person each way) to Port Douglas for shopping, and complimentary valet if you have our own car. Most of the tour companies pick up from Thala as part of their packages, so make sure you visit the Great Barrier Reef and the quaint shops in Port Douglas! SO GLAD we paid a little more to stay here. It was romantic, relaxing and even BETTER than the pictures show!

This place is magical! Nestled in the trees so very near the coast of the Coral Sea, the Thala Beach Lodge is an oasis. The cabins are adorable (although most do not have views of the water) but the main lodge does enjoy the stunning coast and is a wonderful location to rest and recharge after enjoying time exploring the surrounding area. Thala Beach Lodge is "perfectly" situated near Port Douglas, but away enough to feel remote and surrounded by nature. Finally, the staff, the spectacular staff of wonderful people who are so willing to lend a hand or give a smile; the BEST. Thoroughly enjoyed are stay here. Cheers!

Perfection, incredibly friendly staff, excellent cuisine and setting.

Very accommodating staff. Comfortable, homey individual bungalows. The open air dining room and public areas have stunning views of the forest and coastline!
