White Sands Hotel

If you want to get away from the typical high-rise on the beach and step back to this quaint, 50's style hotel. Not everything is over the top modern but you won't miss that when you realize you can actually relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Sit on your veranda, take a dip in the pool, check out the coy pond, or head down to the beach which is only a few blocks away. Service was great too and definitely helpful. Nothing to complain about once we got settled in. Definitely would stay there again if we ever get a chance to go back!

The hotel staff and exterior were very nice and friendly. Pool was clean and kept up. Cockroaches were a nuisance in the evening around the hot tub. The hotel room was nasty. The floors were black stained the walls were covered with grime, the front of the microwave was smeary and gross. The toilet wasnt cleaned the entire time we stayed there, I think they vaccum and make the bed thats it. There was oily slime all over the counter when we got to our room. The shower was moldy in the corners and had old soap left in the dish. I was dissapointed in the cleanliness. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I didnt like having to pay extra to get to the hotel from the airport. the online said that shuttle service was available- yep availble but not for the airport and NOT INCLUDED> Neither is WIFI. I checked the bed for bugs, and the room. There were cockroaches everywhere outside, but none in the room. The room was noisy and the airconditioner never cooled down the room, it just ran constantly blowing air around. I think a good cleaning would go a long way and probably keep the cockroaches from hanging out here as much. NO view. VERY NOISEY! Was woken up many times each night by the cars parking in the parking garage next to the building. SCREEEEEEEEECH all night long. THere is no sound proofing. It was a place to stay. I washed my hands alot. I tried not to touch the ground with my bare feet or put any of my belongings on the ground. Just too dirty!

We stayed in the hotel for six nights. It was a good experience, the hotel was clean conveniently located. The best part was it had a little kitchen with hot plates for cooking.

Older but clean, Good location parking the worst part staff friendly and tried to accommodate

The hotel is a in a great location, great value for money for budget travellers.

Stayed for 3 weeknights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was clean, Hottub could use some maintenance. Room was clean but in need of refurbishment. (molding broken, carpet not professionally replaced etc.) The room was very comfortable with cool trades coming in the lanai. AC worked but there was a switch to turn it on that wasn't labeled. Overall a great stay though, I encountered no bugs or varmints (rare anywhere in Hawaii) and the beach is only 3 blocks away. for the price, well worth it, I will be back.

I enjoyed my stay and the workers were every welcoming and helpful and I can't wait for other stay in the future.

The wall is very thin.you can hear every words your neighbor is talking. Needs a lot of remodeling.

It was great I will stay there again. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed a place to stay with my dog because he needed to undergo surgery l, the room was alright and it was alright in price but they charged me extra for the dog and maintenance fees, I noticed stains on the sheets and when I called to ask for a back up during the night they said they couldn't give me anything because the housekeeping people went home and wouldn't be in till the next morning, that made me pretty unpleased. Also the parking is horrible and space is limited we had to park a block away

Everything was good except frustrating with wifi connection from our room n need replaced macowave n movie disc device... Forgot bring in kitchen towel once...

Staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Only drawback was very limited parking if you have a rental car.

I liked the stay in the Hotel it was my thirty time already. Close by beach, shops and so on. Quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. Did not like to be charged for the Playstation. I am not a game player. Never used it. Should be charged only when somebody want to use it.

The hotel met expectations for the most part. It was nice and the staff was friendly. The kitchenette in the room was very convenient. The only real inconvenience was that there is no wifi in the rooms. If requested they will set up a single wired connection in your room. I imagine that for people vacationing this is not a big problem. Unfortunately, we were looking or apartments, cars, etc., and needed to use the internet quite often and on multiple devices.

A little out dated and not too difficult to access. Could have been nicer if the faucet in bath had not dripped.

Stayed there on 2 separate trips. The first one was really nice and hence, we chose the White Sands for the second trip which turned out to be just an okay experience. We had the pool/courtyard view for the first trip. Really enjoyed the tropical breeze sneaking through the vent and the serenity of the courtyard. On the second trip, we had street view and it wasn't anything close to the pleasant experience we had with the first one. Only recommend this hotel for the pool/courtyard view.

The hotel is somewhat dated as there is no elevator (we were on the second floor). The room accommodated my wife, myself and our teenage granddaughter quite well. The staff at the front desk were very helpful as they answered all of our questions including how to get around on Ohau's city bus service. The room was cleaned up each day by the friendly staff. In today's market, we got good value for our money.

Wifi that we paid for didn't work in the rooms and barely worked from the balconies. The pool was closed. People were shouting late at night. The cleanliness of the room was evident from the clinical lighting. On the plus side, location was great. In hindsight we'd probably look elsewhere next time.

The rooms have many cockroaches and the guy working didn't help with my simple requests and changed our rooms three times. Parkings are very limited, 12 stalls, so we had to park at another hotel across the street and walk over, very inconvenient.
