Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel

Not sure why the rating is this low but I find this place to be in a good location and the staff are friendly and always available. The location is only a few minutes to the heart of Waikiki and bus lines. The staff are always available respectful and hard working. I will stay at this place again when I come back. I appreciate the service.

Limited bathroom counter space but nice luscious towels. Bath gel & shampoo in a wall dispenser- we brought our own. Comfortable mattress (absolutely no bugs)! Foot sauna nice & pretty pool & sauna area. Would stay here again.

the room shown when booking shows a kitchenette, find out later it is a 30$ a day extra charge. If you like coffee, youll have to ask for extra, they only give you 2 creamers.

Needs some updates. Older but clean, l prefer disposable coffee and water glasses as I never saw a cart with clean dishes. So I assume that they just get wiped out in the room

Staff is wonderful they should have at least 2 workers for the front desk though because we waited awhile to check in because the people in front of us was busy complaining which held everone else up. It is a family friendly hotel which is great if you have kids. The only issue we had was the pool area it should be managed better. The pool is much smaller than the photos but it was really uncomfortable to see alot of drunk people drinking in the jacuzzi. So we actually stayed away from the pool because of this when you have kids its not the type of environment you want to be around. The foot spa was a different story it was relaxing and no one there so that was a nice experience. The restaurant at the hotel is great! We went there for dinner and the breakfast buffet kids are only $6.95 and as a hotel guest the adults get discount so let them know. Valet is great we have a huge truck so its nice to be able to go in and out with the one time fee and have them park it for us they are really nice workers.

The room was easy to book through an orbitz package. The hotel was everything we needed: clean, quiet, friendly staff, within walking distance to everything, had tourist guide and car rental in lobby, in addition to spa and restaurant. Our balcony room had a great view and the room was clean and simple. We didn't need more than that, since we were out exploring the island all day! Will definitely recommend or stay here again.

Many problems and concerns.... I was delayed in SFO due to weather and air traffic control issues. I missed my flight to Honolulu and had to get a room in SFO at my own expense and in additional paid for a hotel at the Wiakki Sands Villa.... I called them and told them the situation.... I also got an statement from UA that my flight was delayed. Nancy at the Wiakki Sands Villa had NO NO NO sympathy at all... No break on the room cost, says the UA statement said the flight was delayed causing me to miss my HAWAII flight but she said it did NOT say WHY..... what is the big deal, through NO cause of my own I was delayed.... I would expect some sort of a break on the room cost....NO NO NO> Additionally repairs had been made in my hotel room and they looked like a 5th graders made the repairs. Unbelievable..... poor and shoddy repairs.... Room 807 you can go look. NOT enough lounge chairs at that pool... just a handful, maybe 5 or 6????? The carpets in the hall were pathetic... old old old. NO NO NO microwave in the room??? Are you kidding in this day and age????? Elevators were soooo slow.

Good hotel kinda old but not bad. Close to everything decent balcony but you do get traffic noise.

Never having been to Waikiki we found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, good food, good drinks and walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Waikiki beach. Having valet parking was a definite plus considering the major lack of parking in the area. Also enjoyed the foot spa after spending some time walking around, very soothing. Overall, we would recommend this hotel. Very nice staff, quiet and comfortable.

Comfortable beds, fully-stocked bathroom and closets and lots of drawers. A few blocks from beach and stores and 1/2 block from ABC store which had everything and lots of variety of fresh foods

We enjoyed everything about the hotel except for the hot tub and footbath. The footbath was closed for the first 5 days of our stay. The hot tub was hot only on our first visit to it. After that is was only luke warm. After long days of walking the hot tub and footbath would have been a welcoming end to our day.

The hotel is close to the beach, about a 10 minute walk. There's everything you'd want to eat within walking distance, which is very nice. The staff is extremely friendly and was always willing to help! However, the room was sadly a huge disappointment. My biggest and first complaint is that you need to utilize your room key to power your room. You insert it and the room powers up. I imagine that's to save electricity, which I'm fine with. However, the refrigerator and A/C are tied to the same system. Whenever you leave, you have to take your room key in order to get back into the room, which means you will be returning to a hot room and spoiled food in your refrigerator!! Next, the hallway had cracked corners, the ceiling paint was chipped in by our room entry. The room's balconies hadn't been tended to well. The room's size was small, but even smaller was the television. If you're someone who likes to spend the last hour of their night resting with a show, don't expect to watch it while laying down. It was ~24-27 inches screen size. Lastly, the walls are PAPER THIN. We heard all of our neighbors' conversations and could make out every single word. I heard their door open and could even hear when they walked close to the wall. I'm not exaggerating! Please understand that I could understand and hear them as if the walls were made of paper! If you want a place to sleep and nothing more, go to the hostel down the road. If you want a nice stay, you'll be sorely disappointed.

Nice amenities, location & staff for the price......................................................

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. However, the air conditioning didn't work. If we had not been in a corner room with two sliding doors and facing the wind, I would have complained. But we had a nice breeze flowing through so we just kept the sliding doors open. Right near bus stops and not too far from the beach, zoo, aquarium and Kapiolani Park. Will stay again... only hope they get air conditioning fixed.

Any Econo Lodge motel be better than this so-called hotel. After I arrive, I waited more than 10 minutes for check in at the reception while the receptionist chatted with a friend. Everything inside fall into disrepair. When you want to turn off light then you press the switch and nothing happens, you press it again and again nothing happens, eventually you manage to do this after a few retries and there are two more switches with the same issue. A lot of stains everywhere in the room. Their "deluxe room" looks worse than a room in a cheap motel. It's scary to imagine how their "standard room" looks like. Awful and unfriendly housekeeping. They promised free coffee everyday. It was never restocked.

The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff and the toilet seat warmer... Location isn't bad either. There are hidden fees everywhere! I can't believe they have the audacity to charge their guests $20 PER Day to park their rentals in the garage ... on top of an $80 deposit! The rooms are a little cramped but clean. Beds are not all that comfortable - Motel 6 quality mattresses - but the pillows are pretty fluffy. Free WI-FI - whoopee!

Location of this hotel is very good to explore Waikiki. The beach is within walking distance. Hotel needs better managment. Personel is obviously not happy, lots of discussions between staff. Included braekfast is just ridiculous and a ripoff. We didn't have electricity in the bathroom and We had to make complaints 3 times and it took 3 days before someone came to fix it. Room on the other hand was streetside and yet relatively calm with a nice terrace. Personel told us the lease for the building was ending and so the owner was just trying to make as much money as possible for the time the lease was running. This was showing...

Location is good, staff are friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is below average: just toast, orange juice and canned pineapple pieces. Valet parking is $20/night. Rooms not in the tower are near the pool, expects big noise if there is a party or energetic kids. Rooms are not very clean. If you think the location (close to wakiki) is very important, it is an acceptable choice.

The hotel is an older establishment on the AliWai Canal which is an excellant place for walking. It is close to the beach . It has a very nice bar/restaurant with a very friendly casual atmosphere. This a very Energy saving hotel your room card is required for electrical power , the comode is a high tech unit which ideally would not require toilet paper. The pool area is so very peaceful and beautiful. You have free wireless access and their is also a computer room you may use as well as an excercise facility and hot tub. It is an old hotel nothing fancy , it could use updating and remoldeling but if your main needs are a place to sleep after you have done your adventures , it is good. Yes, the free breakfast was mainly, toast and pineapple, after the first day they did not replenish the in-room coffee materials you had to purchase them. I would return to this place!

ROACHES in our room. Hair from cleaning staff constanly on floor of the bathroom and in the shower. Curtains had visible dirt.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate the positive comments and unfortunately parking is limited in Waikiki due to the lack of space. We hope you think of staying with us again in the future.
