The hotel was nice as could be but under construction and made it difficult to get to rooms especially since we had to go a round about way on the outside of the building. My friend that went with me had to use a cane and it made it worse for her. But the people were very very nice and if I go again I will stay there but hope there is no more construction. We had to go a long block to use the Hilton pool and jacuzzi because their's was under construction also. It would be nice if they included a complimentary breakfast also. The pounding around was not desirable either. BUT the staff and others were nice and friendly and helpful if we had questions.....

Staff dessapears from rooms and menanger don't do anything to compensate or find the dessapering items.

convenient, close to food, shopping beach, nice size room.very friendly, helpful personel

The staff were very nice. There is construction going on but it never bothered us.

Happy to stay there. Room very good. Willing to recommend friends and family.

Nice hotel and service, excellent location, enjoyed staying there.

We previously stayed in this hotel numerous times. However, this time it was under a lot of construction, which is understandable. The elevator on the Ocean tower is a nightmare! As there was only 2 functional elevators that services all floors (>35 floors). Our one way trip up or down is always 10-15minutes, depending on how many stops. The only thing that we really appreciate in our stay at this time is the housekeeping staff. They were friendly and made sure the room is really clean. Maybe, when the renovation is over, this hotel will be good again.

I came here for a nice solo getaway for my birthday and decided to pay extra and book the oceanview room (vs partial oceanview listed on Orbits). I even called a couple days before my arrival to make sure I have an oceanview room. When I got there they gave me a room that apparently faces Diamond Head. I walked in, over to the balcony, leaned over the balcony, and saw the ocean. I walked right back to the lobby and questioned my room. If I have to lean over the balcony to see the ocean, then it's not an oceanview, it's not even a partial oceanview. The hostess told me that if I want the front full oceanview, it is considered premium and I will have to pay extra for that (mind you, I already paid extra for my "oceanview"). Besides this issue, there is also constructions going on with the hotel, so you can't nap during the day (just walk to the beach and nap there). Everything else about my room and the hotel location was great. Just beware when you book with a third party that you might not get what you paid for.

I saved money for a room with a partial ocean view partial city view and this is a great option. At night the ocean becomes dark but a city view you get to see the canyon view of Waikiki high rise hotels lit up, truly charming and inspirational. The best of both world's for a lower price! All together Hawaii is the most beautiful place in the world. I had a vacation of health and well being that I will remember for the rest of my life. Try drinking ginger tea at night a walk at day time. Meditation on the beach at sunrise. And shopping is some of the best world over. "Beverley Hill west." Words can't explain Hawaii you have to feel the weather caress your body, trade winds that keep me coming back year after year since 2003.

My family and I enjoyed the location of this hotel greatly and the easy access to the beach. We also appreciated the beach chair rental that was available as a part of our stay. The valet staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The cons to our stay was that the hotel is under some major renovations. The pool and spa are unavailable so you have to walk to a different hotel to borrow their ammenities. Also, as a part of the construction, there was some major jack hammering and other lousy activities underneath our window. One night the fire alarm in the hotel went off for several minutes in the middle of the night and was a false alarm.

During our stay, part of the hotel is under construction.

We stayed here while part one of renovation was complete. The rooms were very clean and updated. Hotel staff was welcoming and always helpful. Couple downfalls: elevators were horrible but they are working on updating. Biggest downfall is having to pay a 25 a day fee for amenities that were not functional due to renovation. Yes, we were allowed to go to Hilton but we didn't because that was an inconvenience. Overall good hotel and once renovations are complete, I would definitely go back

Room was clean and big. Nice view from room. Convenient to everything. Noise because of renovation. Pool was closed but you could go next door but who needs to, being so close to the beach. Had to walk around construction outside to get to our bank of elevators. Not that big a deal. Elevators very busy at certain times, I walked down 11 flights one time.

Terrible. They should shut this hotel down and train everybody from top to bottom, about hospitality. I had several problems which I'm still trying to resolve. They lost my dry cleaning. They have no room service, yet they would not allow a Pizza to be delivered to my room. The hotel is being remodeled, which is causing some issues, but the real problem is the staff. Clearly, they want to cater to a crowd that isn't used to a Hyatt, Sheraton, Hilton, etc.

The rooms are beautiful, very clean, modern with beach theam. The balconies are awesome and the ocean view is a great Waikiki experience. When the lobby and amenities renovations are completed - this will be a great hotel.

I pay $1551 on a hotel room and no microwave they ask me to rent for 10$ a day, the bathroom was the smallest bathroom it cannot size two people at the same time.

Hotel is great. Right across the street from the beach. The hotel exterior was under construction ( to which we were aware as it was mention in the hotel details before we booked). The room was newly renovated. Upon our arrival, lobby was busy with people checking in....understood it was 4:00. We were upgraded to a superior room with full view of beach and diamond head. Awesome room!!! Hotel was wonderful. Staff great. Very busy hotel.

The room was clean, modern, and looked just like the photo. The main entrance is on a side street but one entrance leads directly to the street that runs along the beach. For all the hotels in the area, I found the beach surprisingly uncrowded. I was only in town for a day. The location seemed convenient to just about everything. I even took a chance and used the public bus to the palace, and that was a straightforward proposition. My two complaints were that I was required to pay $20 to use beach chairs, even though I had no interest in sunbathing and that the room had neither microwave or mini fridge.

Nice hotel, very close to the beach. There were a few restaurants near this hotel. We had a nice view from our room. Staff were nice and friendly. Room was renovated, everything was new and clean. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel would have gotten a higher rating but they are currently renovating so many of their amenities were not as good as they would have been
