Loved everything but bathrooms were a little smelly

The hotel is beautiful and the staff helpful. Room is too small.

We love that this hotel has its own lagoon. As a parent, I'm able to relax while my children play on the beach with soft sand, knowing they won't be hit by huge waves and can go out a bit and still be in shallow waters. We got a penthouse villa primarily for the in-room washer and dryer. The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable with high ceilings. So why would I not recommend this hotel after all its great features I mentioned? It's the sales push to go to their timeshare meetings. Immediately after we check in at the reception desk, we're asked to go to this other desk to get our "orientation to the hotel". It started off nicely with a lei greeting and welcome to the resort. We got information on where everything is located on the property, shuttle services, tours, etc. And offers of all these freebies IF you go to this 90 min "resort tour". I knew where this was leading because my husband and I were sucked into one these things 15 years ago when we came to Hawaii (at different hotel) for the first time. I was VERY turned off by this. I didn't go on vacation to be bothered with sales pitches and have to think about finances. I had just got off a 5 hr flight, had to walk through half the airport to retrieve my luggage, sit in a stuffy 45 min cab ride. I was in no mood to schedule a resort tour. Even after I politely declined, we still got the sales pitch on a voice message left in our room phone. Staff are really nice but I do NOT like timeshare pitches!

Room was large and spacious with all the amenities needed in the kitchen and laundry room and bathroom. Staff was friendly. However some towels and blankets had stains. Understand using white is hard, but should look at them before reusing. Kids locked us out of a bedroom and there is no key in the rooms-had to call down and they sent Engineering up.

Everything was nice and staff very friendly. I gave high marks but there were cons. Parking was pricey and should give those staying for a week or longer a price break. Breakfast buffet was like a Holiday Inn and not worth the $23/person.

It's been 20 years since I was last in Hawaii. I was invited to join close friends and they suggested the Marriott. I travel a lot, and was very impressed with every single thing with this hotel. Beautiful location, very reasonable price for the quality, incredible staff, fantastic breakfasts at the Longboard. The views, the nearby ocean. It really does not get any better than this. Sign me up for Marriott rewards, I want more!

The staff at the hotel gave great service despite the big boy band concert being held next door. Price was on the higher side than usual but was well worth it.

This hotel was great because there was a lot to do, in a fairly condensed area without it feeling crowded! The reflection pool is a quiet space and the water slide is for screaming and fun! There were places to grab snacks and small groceries while the restaurants were changing menus. The only bummer was that the restaurant closes at 10:15 am for breakfast. The access to the beach and gorgeous, calm lagoon was easy! We could go between the beach and the pools easily. I would stay here again for sure.

Excellent, excellent, excellent resort Excellent beach

Great locations. Exterior grounds are nice. Rooms are tired. A bit deceptive, marketed as a hotel but doesnt really provide same amenities. The front desk staff could be more courteous. Marriot Rewards amenities do not apply. Beach is great. Great location overall. Really only downside is rooms and the staff is very average. They dont clean the rooms on a daily basis. Marriott website should clarify distinction between this property and their hotel properties.

I only stayed for two days but I very much enjoyed it. A beautiful resort with many areas to swim. They have several pools and beaches. They had many activities for adults and children. I did not have my child with me, but there were many families there. It was in a remote location that was very peaceful. I would definitely go back.

This place is perfect for families. Lagoon was safe for for my 20 month old and 4 year old to play. Staff very friendly.

This resort is something else! The entire layout of the pools, grounds, lagoon and private beach was aesthetically conceived with impeccable creativity. The condos were spacious, well appointed and beautiful to the eye. The ocean view was idyllic. The only regret was no room service from their fine restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, and plenty of elevators for quick access to rooms. The fitness center was well equipped, and the locker rooms with the steam room and sauna (not coed, yeah!) were relaxing and easy to use. My wife and I may make this place a yearly destination, now that I'm retired. A great reward to oneself.

This was an amazing resort! It is in a great area, but a little far from Honolulu about an hour with traffic. Not a lot of restaurant choices close by, unless you get on the freeway and go down an exit or two.

We really loved the overall place and the amenities. The cleaning crew seemed to be lacking detail. I noticed in the bathroom that there was a pill that a previous visitor must have dropped on the floor so I purposely left it there to see if the cleaning crew would have found it cleaning the floor. When we returned, it was still there! I left it there again one more day and it was there again. I also think that they should not advertise that the room was a "penthouse" because it was very small and the balcony barely fits more than one person. It's also primarily a partial ocean view. It's good for two people only, not any more unless you don't care for much room. Either way, it was a beautiful grounds area and resort feel. We will just insist on paying for a larger room next time.

if you haven`t seen paradise before, then visit this resort on the Oahu island of Hawaii. Perfect location, overwhelming seaview, very nice apartments but also expensive. Additional parking fees will apply but overall an awesome place to relax and spent a few days. Perfect starting point to all major locations like Peral harbour ( 12 miles) and Honolulu- Waikiki ( 15 miles). Very clean and exciting pool area and beautiful beach at the own lagoon.

Fun an extlting, thank you,did not want to leave, wood want to come back,

We picked this properly with very little planning. I knew of the area from being here in the past (years ago) for meals. Paid probably retail for our King sized room. It was a ocean view, but come to find out that it really faces the pool and not much of the ocean. I needed to be higher to see the actual ocean. I was on the 6th floor. Higher floors are supposely reserved for the time share people. So, right off the bad, I felt like a second-class citizen. But, I do have to say that the staff have been tremendously helpful and as accommodating as they can. We loved the fact that it's quiet, and away form the craziness of Honolulu and Waikiki. This is a great place to relax. But, we weren't too impressed with the food. We didn't go to Chuck's, since the description doesn't make it sound too special. And the Long Board place was just averge bar food type, with ingredients probably all purchased from Costco. Plus, we weren't surprised with the high cost since it's on the hotel property. So, what we ended up was to drive outside of the property--as far as back to Honolulu for the real good island/local foods. We didn't mind that at all, since once we get back to the property, we get to relax. The gym was nice, and we really enjoyed the walking path along the laguns and outside for running. Of course, the Oahu weather was simply gorgeous, even though it was a bit windy around the end of the year. Lastly we weren't too impressed with the lagoons. They sure all look very nice. But, we went into the water and it smelled funny, like sewage smelling. And the water felt stale for some reason. It just didn't feel like the real ocean water. For real Hawaii ocean experience, we went up to North Shore a couple of times and that was 10 times better. But, if you just want to layout on the sand near your room, the Lagoon is the best bet. Just don't into the water and expect fresh ocean water. If you want some quiet time for a couple, this may not be the perfect place because there are plenty of kids and it gets very noisy during the day. But, if you do have kids, bring them! All the kids seemed to be having a great time in the pools. Anyway, over all, this property is a great get-away from the busy Honolulu. Very manicured and nicely maintained. When coming here, you may also want to compare with the other properties like JW or Disney. And if you're a time-share person, it's better value than a "hotel" person. We enjoyed our times here.

The hotel property is beautiful and clean. It is a perfect setup for children. It is a very private location. If you are looking for overwhelming service this is not the place but the staff is very nice and helpful.

We are Honolulu residents, but do not enjoy the overuse fo fireworks associated with New Years Eve in town, Here we had a lovely display without the war zone atmosphere. Chucks is a favorite of ours since our dating years 1963 -1966, and the breakfast buffet was perfect.
