First time in Waikiki so we weren't sure where to stay. The Holiday Inn Beachcomber was a GREAT choice. Room was clean, staff was VERY helpful, they arranged for us to be able to take a shower before our flight out at 8pm, well past late check-out time. Short walk to the beach and to great shopping. Shuttle pickups were across the street. We will definitely stay here again on future trips.
Good place for the price, close to everything. But at present it doesn't have a restaurant, was told one will open soon
hotel in general is old but clean. Some employee has nicer attitute than others but they are respectful. Best part of the hotel is that 5-10 min walk to the beach, walking distance to shopping centers (hawaiin center and internal market) and resturants (cheesecake factory, island village "great for breakfast, top of sky, etc. theres a <5 min walk for a grab and go food market and a swap meet near the hotel. love love love the location! Plus if ur thinking taking the bus its just a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop. down part is the rent a car.. it takes forever they have dollar car rental at the hotel and there is only one person there every morning theres always a line.. so if ur planning to rent a car there go early. and the car drop off is a 10-15 minute walk form the hotel kinda a bummer since after a long day of driving you still have to walk going to your hotel. otherwise the whole expirience was great! happy vacation
I was staying at this hotel for 10 days, we've got a nice comfortable room with balcony on the 9th floor. Staff is friendly and helpful, location is perfect – we really enjoyed our stay.
Hotel check in was simple and fast. Close to the beach and within walking distance to sl many shops and restaurants! All staff were very nice and quick to greet you. The rooms were older but clean and in working order. The pool was clean and there were always seats available. We went to the gift shop in the lobby more times than I can count. Prices were lower than expected and it was convenient. The coffee shop was great but got busy at times. My only complaint is about the elevators. Sometimes it would take us between 5 and 10 minutes to get an elevator that wasn't full. We were on the 2nd floor so I would have prefered to use the stairs but they were marked for emergency exit only. Overall it was a great place to stay and I highly recommend it!
Great location as it is near lots of places to eat and of course a one minute walk to the beach. Just be aware that there is no restaurant so any advertisement for breakfast for two can't be accommodated.
We were about 4 hrs late getting there, but they were there waiting on us. we did find out that if you needed any thing talk to the Bell Boys or Concierge. We did take Dinner Cruise, Star of Honolulu it is a little pricey but We really did enjoyed it The Hotel is centered to about where ever you would like to go. We where here about 9 years ago They have remodel since we were here before. Stay here you can't go wrong. Good luck and enjoy.
Stayed at this hotel before - great central location and best value when you can book on line through this site and save on average $100 per night. Restaurant independently operated - food average.
Sam at check was the best! We asked for an upgrade and she said she would try and boy did she!!! Ocean view with the Royal Hawaiian on the right and Diamond Head on the left with the lights of Waikiki at night. Just what we wanted! Room was clean and beds were great, we were not bothered by noise at all from construction we were on the 11th floor away from it. But remember this is a busy area with deliveries starting early. Have been to Hawaii now 5 times and 4 of the 5 have been to Oahu we love it! Tons of shopping just outside your door. Rented a car and did our usual and drove around the island. Only disappointment was Jimmy Buffett's was not actually Jimmy Buffett's!! It is now a different restaurant with the JB signage. Menu is completely different, luckily we caught this and did not go in. Had a reservation but once we found out about the change and menu needless to say we were a "no show" False advertising for what ever reason but for a short time as we were told it was the terms of the change...too bad Jimmy Buffett no longer has a restaurant on the island :( We just love Hawaii. Good location staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean
My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Holiday Inn Wakikik Beachcomber hotel. Although not right on Waikiki beach, it is only 300 yards away, an easy walk. We swam in the ocean every day. Our room on the 21st floor had an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean, and other parts of Waikiki. The staff was very friendly and courteous and attended promptly to our every request, including helping to arrange a tour of Pearl Harbor. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki. JS Peoria, Illinois
First let me start by thanking the manager that was on duty on 10/24/13, for upgrading our room from the 8th floor to to 14th floor. The original room was not what we booked , but they took care of it right away!!The staff there was great. The Hotel was awesome! I would recomend this hotel to anybody in a heart beat. My wife and i really enjoyed are stay there. Thanks again!!
You should have disclosed the $30 per day parking charge.
The room was reasonable and the service was great. Good price for the quality
very nice place to stay at this price. easy access to everywhere
The Premium King Ocean view room was great .Perfect view from the balcony. The convient location was perfect and the staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet at Jimmy Buffet's complimentary with our room package was very good. We would gladly stay here again. Larry Brumley
The room was very clean and comfortable. The concierges were did a wonderful job making arrangements for entertainment and transportation for us. The location was outstanding. Whether you wanted to walk on the beach, shop at the International Market Place or Honolulu's version of "Rodeo Drive", it was all right outside the door. In addition, they made a "Hospitality Room" available to us for 30 minutes so we could freshen up before hopping a flight at the end of our check out day. The negatives - although the rooms are advertised and include a balcony, unless you pay for a premium room on a high floor, the view is of the rooftop fans of the building next door. Also, our tours required us to leave by 7:00 a.m. or earlier. There was no where in the hotel or nearby to have breakfast that early. Overall, though, we loved the hotel.
this was a wonderful "home" for our one week vacation - nice location in Waikiki - close to the beach, shopping, etc, and easy to get the highway to travel around the island as well. Wish there was a discount on the parking rate for hotel guests though.
The hotel is fine. Your price is directly related to your view. We paid Oorbits price and got an Oorbits view (Roof Fans). Location is great, just across the street from the beach and in the middle of the shopping madness. The pool area is kind of a bummer. It is run by the Jimmy Buffet restaurant bar and the whole pool area shuts down at 6. If you are not eating or drinking be prepared to get hassled. No place to hang out with family and play games or cards.
Our rooms on the 4th floor overlooking the rooftop of the lower building of the hotel and displayed the lovely view and sounds of the hotel venting systems. After a second night of not being able to sleep (due to the loud noises from the venting system) we upgraded to the 17th floor with partial ocean and city views. This was well worth the $20/night additional charge. The hotel accomodations were excellent. The one complaint and annoyance was that you had to have a room key in order to input your room floor in the elevator. I found myself traveling up and down the elevator passing the 17th floor due to either not putting the key in correctly or in not enough time. Ice machines were not located on each floor requiring you to again travel on the elevator and fight with the key thing to get ice. Additionally, each member of our party was required to carry a room key in order to pass security and enter the elevator. Security was relatively strict - in particular, towards our twenty plus years old. Even when with us (their parents) they were questioned by hotel security and reprimaded for not having a hotel key on their person. The security people were not friendly by any means.
