Hawaiian Monarch Hotel

Location was great but there was no coffee in the room and bathroom seemed to need grooming.

The hotel carpet is old and green we never went barefoot inside. The tub is also old with stains and no water pressure. There are no comforters just a small light blankets wrapped around sheets. If you want to walk to the beach, the zoo, or anything entertaining it's about a 25-30 minute walk. Also there is no microwave in the room. There is a mini fridge but no way to warm up any leftovers you might bring back.

If you want to have a clean room, shower at a reasonable price - this is it. Have stayed here often as I travel to HNL yearly since 2004.

Probably the scariest room I have seen. Bedding had stains (who only knows), bed, carpet, and furniture were probably new in the mid 70's. The carpet was sun bleached and stained. You could see the original color under the corner of the dresser. There were price tags on furniture for a few dollars as if they were bought at a garage sale. We didn't set our luggage down in fear that we could incur bugs. Stayed in the room long enough to contact Orbitz to get us a different hotel... heed the warnings. BTW, great Mt view....

Nice close location to the beach and bus stops. Older style of course but still did the job. Staff was helpful.

The check in was smooth, plenty of parking, the room was clean. It met my expectations. I recommend this hotel.

My experience is OK. I will find different place to stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 11 days. the location was okay due to the fact it was a close walk to the beach and main road. The staff was amazing. They did not change my sheets on the bed once until i asked them to. I found roaches in my room a couple of times during my stay. There was construction going on the the next room so it was very loud sometimes. On the bright side there is a pretty good night club in the hotel. Oh and there was no WIFI in the rooms.

Only positives were nice pool deck, room view and walkable. Condition of hotel was poor. Would rather have spent more $ on another hotel...and I'm a cheapskate that knows that you get what you pay for.

This place needs to be shut down. It's only saving grace is that it is in Hawaii.

Parking procedures and overall cleanliness subpar.

If you rent a car keep in mind every hotel in town is going to charge you for parking, but this hotel is the first one to charge us $25 per day, lucky for us we only stayed there 2 nights... I refused to pay for parking so I looked for parking on the street, it worked out good with the only downside that you have to move the car by 6 am (i'm from the east coast so i was up by 5am cuz of the hour difference). The room was not clean, the hotel itself was old and stinks. Nothing like the pictures except for the pool. I'll give them that, the poom is actually nice.

Clean room great staff and hotel we really like the location Waikiki in the convention center we had a good time it was cheap you get what you pay for

Location is so-so, room like run-down, stain and dirty carpet, white socks became black, $25 per-day parking

From t the GM, Vanessa to parking attendant the experience is like the 6th grade dance. The staff all act like why me......i always chaperon, what about the rest of the staff. So if you are the star athlete with a cheerleader girlfriend I would highly recommend the Hawaiian Monarch, but for us average Joe and Jane be ready to "you can't" and don't even think of asking why. Thrust me I seen it in action at least twice a day. The award winning hotel police will give you a 1st verbal warning and a time out. (trasspassing violation). To sum it up bring sweet treat for your favorite teacher (front desk) and a broom for the GM. Hope she will fly away but if not give it to one of the staff so they can sweep some of the trash on the grounds.

Just need a room to sleep for the night. This hotel is reasonable.

Staff was nice. Just be aware no WIFI in the room . Walking distance to the beach. This is an old hotel so don't expect too much. The price is cheap compared to the other hotels in the area. Good hotel if you don't plan on staying in it but to sleep.

The hallway smells very bad, the shower tab is ver old & sleepery. There were insects in the bath room every day. I would not recommend to my friends!

The staff was great but the rooms are old and the carpet was terrible.

it is shocking that I was charged 15$ per night and no wifi is available in the room.
