Great customer service. Hotel is next to the park and right on the beach. Good location and walking distance to most of the attractions. I highly recommend this hotel.

Just normal eveything, the hotel rooms need revitalization and modern !

The location is great facing the sea and park. We stayed in a ocean view studio for one week. The staffs were friendly there. The only unpleasant experience was that we were unaware of a mandatory $75 cleaning fee until at check out time. We did not find this fee explicitly stated in our reservation receipt.

Very nice condo. View of Wakkiki beach. Only downside is there is no pool and one of elevator was down for 4 days.

Good place to stay on west waikiki beach. Stayed for two days. It was a good time.

Nice location. Older Roos that had washer and dryer. All rooms had balconies.

Great location and room was more like a small apartment. Got the job done and it was a nice place overall.

was not impressed at first. The lady at the counter was very rude and charged us an extra &500 dollars because I forgot to put my daughter on the reservations. We had to upgrade rooms just because of taking my daughter and the lady didn't try to help us out in any way. I was so upset cause that was my vacation money.. Also we were right next to Outrigger reef hotel and our room was apparently next to their laundromat and the workers talked and were loud all night.. making it hard to sleep..but besides that, everything else was great... nice location on beach and close to all shops..

The view was great as was the location, right on the beach. We are only reviewing a studio since that is what we stayed in. Their idea of a queen bed is 2 twin beds put together and that was uncomfortable. Also air conditioner leaked the whole time and had to put a pan under it to collect the water. We did get a good deal on the room so the price was good. I liked that we had a washer/dryer in the room and that there was a mini kitchen in it.

Walked along the beach in the early morning. I also liked it that it was not next to another hotel on the one side. The Army Museum is on that side. Convenient stores etc. in the back of hotel up to the beach. Next to Outrigger Surf for good dining and breakfast. As they say, this hotel has no amenities.

We had an extremely good holiday parking was availabe for a cost. the rooms were clean and great for familys full cooking kitchen with washers and dryers can see the beach from the linai. We would visit again.

We have stayed at the Castle many times (9 years) and have always looked forward to next years trip; however, this year we were disappointed. The room smelled like animals, saw fleas, and the kitchen didn't have a dishwasher like other rooms we have enjoyed there. Additionally, the oven was non-functioning. However, we still enjoyed the apartment style with outstanding ocean views.

Don't let them put you on the second floor. Rooms are totally outdated and disgustingly unclean. Also had bites on my legs last two days of weeklong trip so I think room had BEDBUGS! Great location but that's about all this place has going for it...

The location was great! ON THE BEACH! It's not in the middle of waikiki so it wasn't crowded or noisy, but if you wanted to be in the middle of waikiki just walk a block or so and your there. Ofcourse there are a couple abc stores around the corner, a starbucks, take-out places, restaurants, watersports rental, and more. We stayed in a one bedroom, which has a kitchen with all utensils, coffee maker, fridge, pots&pans, plates&cups etc, a bathroom, washer/dryer, a living area and bedroom (which are connected so it's just one big room with sliding walls to separate the two rooms), a big lanai(balcony). You can also barrow beach towels from the front desk. The view from the room is beautiful (we had the ocean view room, which means half ocean and half park) and make sure your in the higher levels (above level 5). The pull-out sofa bed wasn't the most comfy but the bed was ok. There are two ceiling fans and one window a/c(makes a little bit of noise). There's free wifi in the room, but sometimes spotty. Our room was nice and clean, a bit outdated but it didn't really matter. The staff were very nice and helpful. Overall nice and convenient place!

View from balcony was outstanding! You are in direct view of beach and on the door entrance side there is Diamond Head. You have your own kitchen, washer and dryer, safe. Within walking distance of stores and restaurants. People at desk are very helpful. On streets look for people with bright light green shirts for information and directions. You will have a key to your door, safe, and one for operation of elevators and outside doors. Don't forget to return door keys to counter and leave safe key in lock on safe when leaving, for there is a hefty fee for missing keys. As far as Condo vs. Hotel, Condo wins hands down. This vacation is in our top 5.

Great location, but the water right in front of the condo is very rocky - no sand, bring water socks or go down beach four hotels.

The hotel is not facing the ocean. Its side ways. We were supposed to have an ocean view. Well we were looking at the Hilton hotel while sitting on the balcony. The ocean was to the left. :( Only 2 elevators and 15 floors! Sometimes it took forever for the elevator to finally get to us. And then was stopping on every single floor to pick up people. Kitchen counters were sticky and we had to clean the kitchen before we started using it. Room size was good though and location excellent!!!

The negatives of the Castle Waikiki Shore are numerous. First, we booked a one-bedroom, only to find out that unless you book a two-bedroom, there really isn't a separate bedroom. Even the two bedroom only has one separate bedroom. Rather, there is a partially enclosed area in each condo that has a partition divider so it can be closed off from the rest of the condominium (and thus is considered a bedroom). Thus, if you want privacy, it is somewhat lacking. In some of the other condominiums we have booked over the years, such arrangements are considered studio condominiums. Second, there is no pool, and if booked through Castle, no access to a pool at any other hotel. Our room was clean, but is getting somewhat dated in appearance. Our condominium had basic kitchen items, which did not extend beyond the minimal needs (small coffee cups, no mugs, etc.). It would have been nice if the management could provide a few more small essentials, such as coffee filters. There are minimal "maid" service. Our supposed towel change consisted of them dumping off a new load of towels, without picking up any of the old. Hotel provided beach towels for swimming, but such towels weren't in the best shape. The hotel's security requires both separate card keys to get into the room and "fobs" to access entrance to the property and the elevators, with significant costs if you lose a "fob". It would be nice if the keys could be updated to a single card key so you don't need to keep track of the "fobs". On the plus side, aside from the misleading "bedroom", the condominiums are generally spacious. It has a good location, next to the new Trump hotel, Fort DeRussy, and the Outrigger Reef. views from the condominium generally look out toward Fort DeRussy and the beaches by the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is a short walk to the main shopping area and numerous restaurants.

We had a 1BR/1BR garden view. Huge soaking wet spot(3'X5') on carpet inside lanai door at check-in; they supplied industrial fan to dry it out. (air con drain bucket overflowed?) More than average "wear and tear" visible- sliding doors off-tracks, jalousy windows broke(opened easily without using crank). This was a major security concern, as you can climb easily from one balconey to the next! Kitchen was inadequately supplied to really cook..obviously they want you to eat out locally. Positives- nice view, reasonable price, easy walking to most of Waikiki shopping (except grocery shopping- you must drive), great beach closeby. Much of the riff-raff of Waikiki absent, probably due to proximity of Ft. DeRussey and military security closeby. [...] (manager) seemed exceptionally nice and personable, and personified "Aloha" spirit. Overall, a good place to stay in Waikiki on the cheap, but don't expect too much, and if you want first-class hotel experience, pay for it and stay in a hotel. We lived on Oahu for 4 years, and have visited here over the years, so a first-class hotel was less important than economics. Parking tight, but secure in the basement, especially if you rent scooters or a motorcycle as I did. They did allow me to park the bike in the same space as the car, with no additional charge (HD Sportster, just barely fit). John ScribnerBryan OH

The very BEST!!
