Very disappointing experience. To start with, stay here if you like DIY projects during your vacation in Hawaii, because this is not a hotel. These are condos owned by private owners who pay a management company to run it. The tv in my room had no working TV and nobody could figure out how to fix it. I got a bag of coffee upon my arrival but there was no coffee maker. There were utensils but nothing to watch them with. They tell you when you arrive that they will NOT clean your room unless you request it. I asked them to do so in the middle of my stay and I left and never was cleaned. You have to beg the front desk for amenities like shampoo or soap or anything you need. It’s like a third world country motel. They even tell you to take the garbage to the chute!

Pros: the location was very convenient as it was right across the street from Waikiki Beach and close to shops and restaurants. The room had a decent sized refrigerator with dishes and pots available for use in case one wanted to cook. Staff was very polite and helpful. The WiFi speed was decent. Cons: The property is dated and the bed was a little too soft, uneven and flimsy. I was also sprung with an unexpected cleaning fee of $153 while checking in. Although Orbitz does say that hotels may charge additional fees, full disclosure of all fees upfront would be good for confidence in brand as this helps travelers to plan a vacation budget better. This fee really set me back unexpectedly. I don’t believe that the additional cost (unexpected at that) was justified given the aged condition of the room though not in terrible shape.

It was great to stay there. Closed to the beach and the zoo. I was only desapointed that the front desk did not have all the things that were promised to have in our room. We asked for dish soup and I was told to buy at the nearest store because they didn't have any. I asked for paper towels and they didn't have any either. They hand me a paper saying that if anything was needed to just ask at the front door but they didn't have much at front desk.

First staff refused to check if our room was ready. Made us wait 3 hours. Added an additional 150$ for room cleaning but there was no cleaning service. Water leaks, roaches and no check out staff available. Overall horrible experience.

I am writing this review for, " Waikiki Grand." I ended up booking this maybe 3 months in advance for my retiring get away, BUT I did not retire but kept the plan in effect. I was here from August 8 - 14, 2017. I arrived at. " Waikiki Grand," and I met " Roxy,' at the front desk - she was amazing from beginning to end. I was booked through, " Orbitz," and had a room booked but my room was not ready, 3:00 check in, I did show up early - around 12 noon. Roxy then showed me a room that was smaller but was ready for ME now. I decided to cancel my other room and take the room she showed me. The room had one queen bed, on the 8 th floor, microwave, coffee maker, coffee filters, coffee cups, Plates, silverware, toaster oven, cooking utensils, flat screen TV, celling fan with remote, a little kitchenette with small refrigerator was nice. There was also cleaning supplies, they did not have someone come in daily, which was OK with me. Views of the Zoo, a nice partial view of the beach, very close to Waikiki Beach - 1/2 block. Starbucks and restaurants all very close by. Air conditioner which I really had to leave on 24/7 - could have used a better air conditioner. The windows were the old glass louvers....air imagine escape through them but...

I liked everything except the extra $125 I had to spend at check in. I guess I missed the fine print, which I blame on Orbitz - that info should be made VERY clear - but there was an additional $125 added on to my total bill for a cleaning fee. And they don't come in and clean the room while you're there. It's for after you check out. They don't even come in and re-stock your toiletries. I chose that hotel because I was saving about that much compared to the other, nicer hotel I was looking at. So in the end, I spent the same amount on a lesser place. Frustrating.

Apthotel, not a true Hotel. Serviced once at beginning of stay only. Owned by individuals managed by Castle Group. Condition of your condo built in the 60's can very quite a bit, from horrible like the one they forced on me at arrival for a ten day stay to modern. The carpets, bed, and couch were 50 years old, the room was not vacuumed, TV, WiFi, all had to be adjusted to work upon my assistance. I would NEVER stay in such an arrangement again. Same price as hotel too.

The location is conviniently close to the beach and shopping area. There is parking shortage so we parked in the street, saved us $17/day. The room, we had king size bed with a small kitchen and electric stove if you would like to cook. They have pots and pans, plates, spoons and forks and kitchen utencils. The refrigirator is regular size, so you can fit a lot of food stuffs, water, beer and wine. The door is opened by 4 number code, you dont need to worry about lost card. The room has tile floor so you need a sandal but it smells better than carpeted. The only thing that bothered me a little was the noisy aircondition which I adjusted to in a couple of days. Customer service is from 6 to 10 after that theres only a security guard who cant assist you with your need but it was not a problem for us. I think for its price its just right.

What a great time we had! The location of the hotel was perfect for access to the beach and restaurant, we even walked to Diamond Head so near it was! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the pool nice to cool down in the shade. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Would stay again! Great location. Thanks! Loved my stay at this hotel. The top floor is the best by far!

It was great. I will be back there for sure. Good location, good room, very close to the beach.

Was really nice staff is great friendly bar up stairs walking distant to everything beach Starbucks restaurants ill stay there again

Had to wait for room to be ready and when we got it it was filthy! I mean motel by the hour filthy! Counters in kitchen we disgusting! Bathroom floor and toilet disgusting! Even though I booked for 3 guest we had 2 towels, 2 hand towels and 1 was cloth for 5 days! Light bulb burned out in bathroom and had to ask for it to be replaced twice. For 5 days only saw housekeeper once, had to ask for fresh towels - 2 given, mismatched and worn out beach towels once, the rest of our stay we washed our own towels. You should not advertise this as a Hotel....far from it! If you don't mind cleaning your own room upon arrival, washing your own linens - if you can get any and having to get your own toilet paper because the maid is MIA. Oh, did I mention the filthy grout, dirty carpet, furniture that looks like it was picked up from the side of the road? Bugs included, got flea bites all over! Do yourself a favor, spend a little more and at least feel comfortable knowing your not staying in someone else filth. I have traveled to 3rd world countries and had nicer, cleaner rooms for a lot cheaper. They need to really raise their standards....or at least check them! Shame on you for even giving this place a decent review! Check out your hotels! Never booking with you again!

I took my teenagers to Oahu and our stay at the hotel was great. The location was perfect and I really love staying on the east end of Waikiki. The room was very clean and homie enough for my kids and myself. The front dest staff was terrific in providing more blankets and towels during our stay.

Had a wonderful time here. Would stay here again. Can't wait to come back. Very gay friendly.

First room we were assigned had filthy carpet. Floorboards had fallen off and were placed in dresser drawer. Desk clerk (Brent....who was outstanding) was able to move us to a different room. Second room had tiled floors, which were moderately clean. However, there were no towel bars in the bathroom. This is a problem as one is expected to use the towels several days. We realize all units in the Castle hotel pool at this property are individually-owned. But, Castle should enforce some standards on the property owners. This is a property that Castle should be ashamed to have there name associated with.

Room was ready at exactly 3pm, and not a second before. Turned out our room was still dirty. After settling into our "new" room, we were disgusted. Looks nothing like the mediocre pictures we settled for. Staff was unfriendly. The room looked like a big lots ad for dorm room furniture. Our floor wasn't leveled, or wasn't stable. The pool was dirty and green from the view of our room. Our unstable a/c unit was on the corner of the window, so you were able to stick your hands out, and lovely blood sucking mosquitos were able to enter your room. There was foil and extra glass underneath the a/c unit for who knows what reason. The sliding bathroom door lifted up, not giving much privacy. There was a good sized beam in the middle of the room, thankfully though, not blocking the tv lol. The bugs behind the floor level window smushed up against the wall was the icing on the cake. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the convenience of location being so close to the beach.

This hotel is at the perfect location, you can walk right down to the beach. If you like the zoo.... It's literally right across the street. We stayed in room 911, the a. Didn't cool the room off very well. I got kitchenette- there was only a microwave and refrigerator. The room didn't look anything like the pictures. But it was a very nice hotel. Hotel pool was dirty, didn't use it.

This hotel was great! The location is awesome its a block back from Waikiki beach and across the street from the Honolulu Zoo. The room was great, it had a mini kitchen with all the equipment you need to cook, including two mini fridges, microwave/toaster oven, pots/pans, plates, cups, etc. The hotel was beautiful with very nice staff. The only thing that i would consider a down fall is that they don't offer room service every day, so if you need something you would have to go down to the main desk and request items. That is a very minor issue though we were their 7 days and only had to go down once. Overall I was very happy with the stay and will definitely be staying there the next time we visit.

Convenient location. Minimal service - no housekeeping. Friendly front desk staff but little done to assist with issues. Wireless internet available
