great staff, excellent location, most comfortable mattress I've slept on in a long time

It was a standard Holiday Inn property, easy parking and access to rooms.

The staff was very accommodating. Having the cookies available to munch on added a welcoming feel.

Returning guest.. Good value, close to The City...just where we needed to!

The front desk people were helpful and friendly. They offered advice to my wife to fill her day while I attended to business. Cute little shops and shopping centers seems to work for her.

Nice hotel, clean and quite, good for business trip

This was my second stay at the Holiday Inn in Orangeburg, NY and I must say that I had a lovely experience there. The staff was great, friendly and eager to please. The room was clean and comfortable and the room service was awesome especially on those nights that I wanted to relax n just order in dinner. I definitely recommend Holiday Inn to anyone who loves the quiet friendly family setting.

Was OK, but some bad points. Room smelled like chlorine as pool is in the courtyard of this HI. Carpet looked dirty & had some stains. Bed was comfortable. Probably would stay elsewhere next time

Friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed rooms (could have used a microwave)

This was a stop over for us on a long road trip. (1) The room was very hot when we checked in, the air conditioning had been off, presumably to save money. Furthermore, (2) the AC didn't work well once on. Also, (3) there was no Do Not Disturb sign. Consequently, (4) we were woken up at six am. A neighboring room had someone practicing the drums, including with drum sticks, for a marching band perhaps (5), and the staff did nothing about it except roll their eyes. Breakfast was said to be served until 10 am, but they began to take it up at 9:30 (6), and threw me out of the breakfast room about 9:45 (7). Also, (8) the breakfast was really meager, just bagels and cereal. There was no coffee maker, which is fairly standard these days (9). The staff were rude on check-in (10), and when I listed these things for them on check-out, they just laughed, and offered me a free soda and a chocolate bar.

We were very far away from the entrance, they didn't offer a room closer or with an elevator. But it was a very comfortable room.

Very efficient for business meeting

Everything was fine except the shower didn't drain. By the end of the shower I was in ankle deep water. I notified the front desk and asked that it be taken care of prior to my wife taking a shower later that day. It was not taken care of.

We have stayed at this hotel before but this was the first time we used the pool. The pool was nice, but the college kids using the hotel as an overflow to the dorms of a nearby college were too rowdy for my tastes and made my experience there uncomfortable. However, the beds have always been very comfortable. This time we were on a courtyard room and the window did not seal properly so that it was noisier than other times. The front desk staff was very nice but there was a lot of loud activity in the hallways that was not present earlier in the year.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Orangeburg the weekend of May 3, 2008, because of a wedding we were attending in the area. This was probably one of the worst stays ever in a hotel. The problem was the hotel was in the process of major renovations but they were still accepting residents. As we drove into the parking lot, there were hand made signs directing you to drive to the back of the parking lot because the main entrance was being renovated. As we drove around back and entered the doors, we knew we were in trouble. Only half the floor tiles were actually in place as the other tiles were still in the process of being laid. The makeshift lobby consisted of a desk with a computer and printer that was pretty much in the hallway. We saw plenty of cars in the parking lot so we figured it couldn't have that bad if there were other people staying here....so, what the heck. The hotel clerk that checked us in was polite and did apologize for the appearance of the hotel. She told us that our room was on the 2nd floor and gave us directions on how to get there. We asked where we could catch an elevator but she told us that NO ELEVATORS WERE AVAILABLE as they were out service due to the renovations. So we wandered through the maze of hallways of the hotel trying to find the stairwell but we ended up making a big circle and ended up at the same desk where we checked in. Another woman at the desk offered to walk us to our room. As we walked to our room, we noticed that the there was a lot of dust in the hallways, certain rooms were sealed off with plastic and tape, doors to the courtyard had cardboard signs telling people to keep out due to the construction. The room itself was not much better. The first thing we did was turn on the heater. Aesthetically speaking the shell of the heater/ac unit was loose and you could literally pull it right off the unit thus exposing the inner workings. But to it's credit, it did warm our room appropriately, though it was a bit noisy. When we wanted to watch TV so we tried to turn off the heater because the noise was a bit distracting, it would not shut off, even when the knob was in the off position. The bathroom was not much better. It was relatively clean and all our standard towels, soaps, lotions, shampoos were provided. However, the toilet seemed to rock a little if you sat on it. When you flushed the toilet, you had to hold the handle down until the water drained from the tank to get a proper flush. As I was taking a shower the next morning, I began to run out of hot water. In the middle of my shower, I found myself turning the water hotter and hotter just to keep the water warm. In the end, I cannot recommend anyone stay at this particular Holiday Inn until they complete their renovations.

I ws only there for about 7 hours so I didn't use the amenities. Staff was friendly at check in and check out. Rm was comfortable and very honestly, I got in and hit the pillow - wasn't interested in much else. In the AM got my wakeup call on time and did the reverse of the night before - jumped into the shower, dressed and left
