Good beer brewed on site - try the 'ginger beer' - light & refreshing! We stopped by on a Sunday & they had live music on their large outdoor patio. We had hoped to grab food there but arrived between the restaurants lunch & dinner servings (3:30ish). The waiter suggested heading over to the brewery for a cheese plate but they had already sold out. All in all - good atmosphere & beer.
nice clean hotel with great food at the restaurant would love to see some cocktails added at the bar very good value close enough to the wineries we were there on a Friday night they had some live music that was good
We were returning to Erskine Park via Cessnock and drove past The Potters Hotel & Brewery so decided to try a local brew. We ordered the Hunter Valley Pale Ale and spent some time in the quaint brewery Bar. It was already sundown so rather chill to sit outdoors..... A really laid back venue with a charming decor.
Our visit to potters was spoilt by a rude staff member , a tip for Michelle taking orders at the bar for meals .... when you make a rude comment about a customer that has just walked off after finalising his order .... he was asked to pay again ... his only comment .... I've already paid ...... Michelle's comment after he turned away .... alright ! Don't get ya nuts in a knot over it .... my comment to Michelle... that was not a pleasant thing to say ..... hers ... That's life ! When I asked her to repeat it she said she didn't say a thing . Michelle the next time you make a rude comment about a customer.... make sure it's not his mother standing in line as the next customer.
We stayed here for a special occasion, our wedding anniversary. We were very sorely disappointed. The room was very very basic and had a very strange odour, very much like a nursing home. There was visible water damage in the bathroom on the doors and frames. Our first night we missed the restaurant by literally minutes and were offered the chip machine instead. We opted for takeaway pizza and those pizza boxes stayed in our room the whole weekend, even after we placed them outside our door because there were no bins able to accomodate them in our room. And the ants came marching in .... yes our fault however if there had been bins ... Very disappointing. I can see the name has changed since our stay, we certainly expected a resort as the former name had suggested. What we got was entirely different. Would not recommend.
I recently stayed here for 2 nights while attending a conference. Reception staff were very friendly and professional both at phone booking and on arrival. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were a very good quality. The A/con worked well, without any sound disturbance to the room. On the negative side the room lighting was extremely poor. The blind was one piece therefore to let light in you would then be without privacy so therefore this simply didn't work during daylight hours. The bathroom was huge, the shower was over the bath, however there was more than enough room to accommodate both a bath and shower. The menu at the onsite restaurant was basic home style food cooked well and excellent for the price. A great selection of beers on tap and local wines. Great staff and service. Overall, good value. Great location.
Stopped here on the way back home for lunch. A wide variety of pub type food to order with boutique beers on tap. The place was busy but food did not take too long. Serving sizes were adequate and the food was good. Family friendly and would suit large group.
Stayed with a golfing group and had a great time. The suite was adequate for our needs. No electric blankets and the heater control needs new batteries. There was a small amount of rubbish under the foot seat. The bathroom was large and clean. Our golfing group was transported to our golf courses on Saturday and Sunday and also picked up as part of our package. The staff were very courteous at all times. A nice place to stay and the meal in the restaurant was excellent.
We came back after a few years, because we originally really had a very good impression of this property. But, as time goes by ... Still very good looking and well laid out in a very spacious park area, the hotel seems very attractive. It is one of the places which are normally per se part of a relaxing vacation. This time however, we had a service problem: the beds are not taken care of, there is no cleaning, and the very invitig wooden chairs on the patio were stained (birds). We complained 3 times, every time were promised to be helped, but nothing happened. My husband said that's a safe way to drive a multi-million business into the nowhere. We were told the stains were paint until one mainenance person admitted it to be organic. Well, got two towels for each evening and forgot abot it. If we ever stay there again we will sort out the service issue when booking.
We stayed in a Queen ensuite which was clean with plenty of room. The ladies at reception were very good and although it is made clear that the rooms were not serviced daily, a ferry came in and tidied up our unit while were out on Saturday morning. My only criticism is that they only do minimum two night stays on weekends which is crazy because there were so many rooms sitting idle both Saturday and Sunday mornings. All in all, I'd return to this place without a second thought.
