close to I80, recently remodeled but needs some upkeep, peeling wallpaper, could use some fresh paint, better cleaning. Meager COVID breakfast. Relatively quiet, wifi works well. Fitness room closed.
People were nice, but not very clean or secure. Lots of smoking going on right outside the front doors.
Nothing fancy about this property, but it is nice enough, and certainly not run down by any means. It is right off the interstate, so it has easy access. As far as the room is concerned, the Beds/Pillows were very comfortable, bathroom/shower had everything one should need. Staff was very pleasant, helpful, and friendly. Excellent breakfast. What's not to like? OK, some fussier people could probably come up with a long list of little ticky/tack things. But as far as bang-for-the-buck ... this is probably one of the better hotels I've ever stayed in:-) Keep in mind, we enjoy tent camping ... so that may help explain my review. I would stay there again, for sure (at least at the same price point).
Driving in for one night on my way from Des Moines to Detroit, I found the hotel conveniently located to highways and shore. A value for the money.
No elevator to second floor. Lobby bathrooms a mess. Breakfast average. Big bug in room. Nuff said.
The room with decorate nicely with comfortable bed. Staff are very friendly. Walking distance to some good eateries yet nice and quiet at night. Breakfast was good and plenty for my need. This will be the hotel I will stay in Rochester in the future.
This hotel was chosen because it was a dog friendly hotel. Was smal, expensivel and No pool, but served it's purpose.

The hotel is a pretty standard Comfort Inn. The building is a bit dated, but the staff were courteous and professional. The hotel is worth the arfordable cost.

Air freshener smell was overwhelming in our room. Beds were very comfortable. Cover to light in bathroom fell off in the middle of the night. I would stay here again if space elsewhere was limited or it cost significantly less than other places in the area, but it could use some improvements.

Your observation about guest smoking outside is also a concern for the hotel as the guest are advised on a regular basis to smoke in designated areas where bins are placed for collecting the cigarette butts. Hotel is also in a process of installing new doors with a Key card reader to ensure safety of our guest.
