I will never stay at this hotel again. We as a family felt unsafe staying there and had to keep checking on our vehicle from time to time. The Front Desk did not exert any effort in being curteous and continued to call me 'honey', which I really didnt understand why as my last name was infront of them. When we went to our room, which you have to exit the front office to get to we couldnt find the slot for the key!, had to go back and ask the front desk how to get in...that on its own was an experience!. If you decide to stay there at your own peril, you will have to walk up to the door located to the right of the front desk, lift the rubbery flap and swip your room card key several times to get the door to open! The room was honestly terrible and not clean with some items broken or rusty. I dont think the beds were even clean and we actually got up and left at 6am, and by the way the breakfast was the worst I have ever had at a hotel.

I stayed 2 nights with my family and friends in this hotel. It costs less while booking, but never realized the future effect. First night, unable to sleep due to some kind of skin irritation(possibly due to unclean bedsheet, which was changed next day). I tried to use the indoor pool of this hotel, and caught with eye infection(had to take eye drops to heal from nearest Walgreen, off-course out-of-pocket expense). There was no towels in the pool area, and the Spa was not working(called front-desk from the pool area, and they agreed it's unusable, without taking any action). Biggest issue happened on the last day. While checking out, I realized that someone bruised my car, and damage front bumper. I reported that to the hotel management. The person in the front desk ask me to lodge a report, and told that he will convey this to the manager. But later, when I contacted the manager, she decline to help me on that, saying that hotel will not be responsible for any damage happen to the personal belongings. So, I am paying hefty amount for fixing my car, which I might have spent to stay in a good hotel. Another issue is with Loyalty point. Hotel added my loyalty number in the reservation, but not rewarded any Windham reward points. When contacted WHG regarding the same, they mentioned it's the responsibility of the hotel. In summary, I would suggest to pay couple of bucks more, but stay in a decent hotel, rather than pay later due to other incidents.

This was the worst experience ever spent at a hotel. Please don't stay here ever! The dirtiest hotel ever that needs shut down for major renovation. The room was so dirty we didn't know if we could even spend the night. The sheets and towels were so stained we could use some of them. Hair was all over the sheets and used contacts found inside the bed. The floor was so dirty that we had to wear shoes until we jumped into bed. They were laying carpet in the hall when we checked in we couldn't even get into our room and the door was wide open. Security issue if you ask me. We went to bed and it sounded like the window was open and I checked and the window was open. Once again a serious security issue with a ground floor room. The pool area was so dirty and so dark you couldn't hardly even see. Floor tiles were missing and it was in disrepair. The room only had 3 sets of towels in it and we shared them the night we got there. I went and ask for more so we could shower in the morning and I got questioned why I needed more. There were dirty marks all over the doors in our room and the shower was so dirty that we couldn't even hardly shower. The toilet didn't work and you had to keep flushing it to even get it to go down. Spider webs all around the ceiling and between the lights. Half the light switches didn't work at all. I normally never complain or write a poor review. But I feel people should know how poor this is and really consider a different hotel.

A good place to stay for the night when traveling across the country.

The staff members were friendly, helpful and courteous. Great location off several major highways. A nice perk was the 10 coupon off Denny's which is right next door. Beautiful pool. Room was clean with nice television, microwave and fridge. Not a 5 star resort, but nice value for a getaway.

Good hotel for the value. Staff was very friendly.

Pleasant, affordable and convenient for my several yearly visits to Chicago from mid-Michigan.

There is nothing special about this hotel except for good and committed staff. Otherwise, this is a reasonable stopping place for a tight-budgeted business traveler.

Odd layout, but overall an average experience. Room was fine, breakfast was fine. Hotel needs to be updated.

Light above the bed almost fell on us while sleeping

popular place, overbooked but very accommodating staff....I gave it a 4 for the amenities because the spa and pool were large, indoors and very clean. They keep running out of coffee at breakfast which is the worst thing to do to travelers, and I should have changed it to a 3.

really liked the hotel. I also liked the p0ol and whirlpool as well...the price was very reasonable...i would definitely come again

We stayed at the Days Inn in Portage for two nights. The beds were very comfortable and it was perfect for a quick weekend stay. The only negative was that the lights all seemed to be on a timer and would go out while you were in the shower. We had to wave our hands outside of the shower to get them to come back on.

I booked a king room for one night. It had a mini fridge and a microwave in the room which was nice, it didn't list it in the amenities which was surprising. The pool and hot tub were very nice and kept warm. No towels in the pool area though. The bed was kinda too firm for me, but overall I thought it was very good for the price I paid.

Our room was moist when we checked in. We brought it up to the front desk hours later because we checked in and then went to visit family. The Front Desk associate was not accommodating at all. She sent the maintenance person to our room but continued to "argue" that the room is just cold. After all 3 maintenance people were in our room they discovered a leak that was certainly making the room moist. They changed our room but also made sure to tell us that they were sold out and they would not be able to rent the room we moved from.

Up to date room colors. Friendly and courteous staff.

Everything was great. I made the reservation 10 minutes prior to getting there & still had no complications (which I've encountered at several other, pricier places)

This hotel was a great for the price!. The location was perfect for us...close to the beach and highway. The pool was descent size. The hot tub was just that ...a hot tub with hot water, ((not a whirl pool or a jetted tub)). The staff was very friendly. I do feel I should mention that it is a 2 story hotel and there is no elevator. That didnt matter to us but it might for others. Overall, good hotel for a good price for us! Plus if you get the late night cravings, Denny"s is next door and you get %15 off with your room key!! And it is about 30 seconds from a place called NICKY"S GYROS that has the biggest , yummiest and cheapest gyros I"ve ever had! Its a hole in the wall but Im glad we tried it!

Clean and comfortable rooms. There is food and convience stores close by. Situated in a wooded area that is beautiful in the fall.

Hotel was located just right for our use of Dunes. Room was standard and free breakfast was ordinary. Staff was friendly and helpful. An overall good value.
