We stayed here just one night while on our way home. We didn't want to pay the very high prices in DC. We were very pleased. It wasn't fancy, but was very clean and functional. The staff was very friendly and the bed extremely comfortable. A simple continental breakfast was available too. I believe it was less than a mile from a Metro stop, so it would be easy to take a taxi/Uber there and then get to the city. This hotel was a pleasant surprise!
We were traveling through on our road trip home, and based on other reviews we decided to stay here for the night. This motel was clean (though the furnishings were outdated) and fairly quiet. It was an affordable price. The room was clean and spacious. It had a mini fridge and microwave which was nice to have. My only negative about the room is that the bathroom door didn't fit correctly in its frame. There were a few inches between the door and frame so the door couldn't click into place and you could see into the next room at a certain angle (and vice versa if you really wanted to look in). I was told they provide a shuttle to the D.C. Metro but I'm not 100% certain since we didn't need to use it. We would definitely stay here again on our way through. We might even consider staying here if we were visiting DC.
Well, The Budget Host is a nice hotel in a good location. They also have a good daily rate. It is close to DC via the DC Metro only a little over half a mile away. The bed was fine. they have a fridge and a microwave. It is a nice average hotel. They also have a parking lot which a lot of DC hotels do not have. All the rooms are ground floor rooms.
I recently stayed at the Budget Host Travelers Motel for two nights. The room was nice and clean upon arrival. The AC was nice and cool, which was great after walking the National Mall for two days in hot humid weather. Bed was very comfortable and shower had good water pressure. Seems to be in a relatively quiet and safe area. There was some traffic noise being right off of Route 1 but not too bad. Staff was warm and friendly. I'd stay here again if in the area!
We found this gem online and it is conveniently across the street from my nieces apartment. Reviews online were all good, the price was right and we literally only needed a bed and a shower. Rest of my family opted to stay at the Holiday Inn Express down the road for $30-40 more per night and I think they may have over looked a great little spot that is a throwback to those places you'd stop at with your parents on a road trip back in the day. And it's IMMACULATE. Like not a spot in the place. Granted it is outdated but it really doesn't matter. Had a flat screen tv and a good shower. Only downside were the pillows - needed a few more and it was too late to ask. And the towels are tiny. Otherwise the place is perfect for a quick visit.
We stayed here for three nights as we wanted to visit Washington/ Smithsonian museums. The staff were very helpful, Dan drove us to the Metro each day and gave us many helpful tips about using the Metro, and things to see. It was a 15 minute walk from the Metro back to the hotel. It is not fancy, but clean and offered all we needed. We were given an actual key to the room, and a continental breakfast was offered at the office each morning. We would definitely stay here again, thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay.
This is a great place to stay when visiting the DC area. The motel is older but it is family run and has a very nice staff. Because it is older the price is cheaper than all the hotels in the area. Location: this is just off of the 1 in Fairfax county, so it is several miles outside of DC, but it is only about a 15 minute walk to the Huntingdon metro station which is the best way to get into the city. They also provide a shuttle service to the metro at half hour intervals in the morning. Once on the metro (yellow line) it is only about 15 minutes to the National Mall. It is also just a short drive from Old Town Alexandria which is great for shopping and dining. Safety: This area felt pretty safe to us. Cleanliness: The room was fairly clean when we arrived, and was cleaned nicely every day. Breakfast: They have a small breakfast each morning, usually bagels and donuts. There is no place in the lobby to eat, so we had to go back to our room. Amenities: there aren't very many amenities except microwaves, minifridges, and wifi. They told us some people had trouble with the internet, but it worked for us.
Stayed two nights at this gem of a hotel. Very friendly front desk, provides shuttle to Metro, rooms are clean. Could use a little updating. Will certainly stay again if in the area. Easy to get to DC and the museums.
I booked this motel on a quick trip to D.C. I knew I wasn't going to spend much time in the room so all I cared for was cleanliness and comfortable beds. Well I was impressed. The bed was very firm yet comfy, the bathroom was impeccably clean and there was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The staff were very friendly. They had a shuttle take me to the Metro which was only a 5 minute drive (15 min walk). I thought this was a nice touch and the man who drove me, Dan, gave me some good pointers on what to see and do in DC. The lady working the front desk during the day is a sweetheart and could tell she genuinely liked her job and what she does. The only complaint I had and it's more of a personal thing is that I didn't have control over my heat or air in the room. My first night there was 60° outside and it made for an uncomfortable sleep because I like to sleep cold, so if I do visit again, I will just bring a fan from home, plus the white noise helps me sleep. Other than that, I loved this motel. I will definitely stay here again when I visit the D.C. area! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
This is an excellent little place just outside of Washington DC's busy city area. A small little motel, you can tell it's been there a while. It's not all brand shiny and new, but it is a treasure I'm sure many do pass up for pricier places. DON'T. First off, it's very clean. It has some dents and dings here and there, but over all it's a clean and comfortable place to stay and yes the reviews on the friendly staff are true. They accommodate your needs. If you're missing something you just need to ask. If you are looking for a high priced "feel amazing at how much money you threw into the wind " place to stay, this isn't the place. It's very affordable, but it doesn't let you down if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with a friendly staff and a safe environment. We will absolutely stay here again and can't recommend it enough. The only issue we had was a loud mouth blabbing in the next room over one night. Not at all the fault of the motel, but of the guest. When we travel we focus on a few things when it comes to choosing a place to stay. 1. Clean. 2. Safe area. 3. Friendly staff. 4. Microwave. 5. Refrigerator. 6. Television. 7. Free parking. 8. Free-Wifi 9. Breakfast. Not in any particular order, but those are the most important things to us. This place had them all. The breakfast items were small, but a nice little small and located in the front desk area of the motel. I can't remember the items, as we didn't have any of the breakfast items during our stay, but I think it was coffee, donuts, bagels, etc and you take it back to your room to enjoy. The only reason we didn't go for it was that we left the room very early every morning to head down to DC on the Metro. There is a shuttle from the hotel to the Metro stop but they only take you there. It's less than a mile away. We chose to drive to the station and pay to park. It was 4.50 or so for a full day to park. Then we'd jump the train down to D.C. I'm not a fan of driving down in D.C with it's crazy traffic. Every five seconds when we were walking in D.C someone was beeping angrily at someone else. I was very happy to walk from place to place along the mall. Parking in D.C is also expensive and the most I saw was for 2-3 hours. We very much highly recommend the motel.
