Well maintained property. ALL staff were keen to make our stay a memorable one. Rooms are spacious. Views from the rooms are outstanding - either crashing waves or well maintained golf course. Buffet dinner in the dining room was excellent and the range of choices for breakfast was exceptional. Will definitely look to return.

We stayed here two nights on the drive to Porto from Lisbon by way of Evora so we got in late at night. The drive into the hotel from the main road was a little spooky because it is through a woodsy area being developed. Anyway we arrived and were greeted at reception and everything was top tier our whole stay. Staff is terrific. Food is excellent. Pool and club amenities super. And the beach is just awesome; wide with soft sand and lots of wave action when we were there so the surfers were in the water. There was a ProAm golf tourney underway and the attached course looked in great shape. All in a very nice seaside, golf resort with consistent Marriott quality.

This property does its breathtaking location justice. The rooms are stylish, clean, and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is indulgent. Top end amenities such as golf, wellness, pool area and bars do not disappoint. The staff I met were all friendly and attentive. A luxury hotel experience at prices that are far below. If in the area, I would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a four night stay and found the hotel to be everything you'd expect from a Marriott, i.e. a bit businesslike but good quality. It helped that the property had undergone a refurbishment earlier this year but having visited previously this was only a spruce up and everything was fine before. Rooms are spacious and comfortable (especially the beds and linen) and staff were universally excellent. Breakfast was also very good with a huge selection and the one time we ate in the hotel restaurant, the food was also of a very good quality if a little pricey. The stretch of coastline on which the hotel sits is absolutely spectacular. The main reason for the visit was to play the excellent golf courses in the area and we weren't disappointed. The Praia d'el Rey course itself is wonderful; a mix of parkland and links. Also managed by Praia is the new Westcliffs course further up the course which is spectacular but extremely challenging. For me the jewel in the crown was Royal Obidos, one of the best courses I've ever played, and only a ten minute drive from the hotel too. On a previous visit we also played Bom Successo which whilst a pleasant place to play isn't a patch on the other three courses in the immediate vicinity. The downside for the hotel is it's remoteness from any towns. Peniche is the closest place where there is a decent choice of restaurants and bars and it's a bit of a trek. That said, there are a couple of restaurants somewhat closer and we found the Cozinha d'el Rey in Serra d'el Rey to be very good.

Marriott Obidos is a bit out of the way from the rest of the area but well worth it. The facility is in top shape. Main public areas are clean and impressive. The pool area and lounge chairs are comfortable. The beach will blow you away. Absolutely the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. This is not a swimming beach but rather an undisturbed beauty for walking along the cliffs and sand. Marriott does not have any lounge chairs on the beach (something they should consider) but still wonderful walk. There is an indoor pool which was nice as the weather was a bit cool to do some lap swimming outdoors. There is an outdoor bar and restaurant but the food and service was weak. There is a restaurant inside by the main lobby that is pretty good. The rooms are large, we were upgraded to a suite with a view of the ocean. Clean and large rooms, comfortable beds. Rooms are very quiet. Plan to journey about 15 to 20 minutes to any of the small towns, Obidos - Peniche - all about a 20 minute cab ride. Be patient, the cabbies take awhile to get so plan ahead.

Hotel is on the coast and the views are beautful. Hotel has its own beach beds at the bottom of a steep set of steps but it is worth the effort of going down there. Poolside is also nice but with much more noise . Plenty of food options with the menu in the main bed been the best option. The evening buffet is ok. We tried the bistro twice and were disappointed on both occasions . There is a nice spa area and we both had a number of treatments which were good. All the staff are pleasant and extremely helpful. Fabulous golf course nearby which is a just play if you are a golfer. We will be back.

Maria greeted us on arrival. The room we have booked did not matched our needs and Maria, with the help of the whole front desk team, spent what ever needed time, to find a room which will fit our need. Hotel is well maintained, clean. Beautiful sea view. Great pool to relax. Great location for those traveling between Lisbon and Porto. There are not many 5 stars hotel on the way between the two city's and this one is a perfect choice.

What a great place with wonderful people. Accommodation good, clean and spacious. Romy restaurant had excellent service, great food but a little expensive but worth the extra money. We had a car so made in very easy to get around and see things. Golf courses are great.

Breathtaking, stunning, amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, mesmerizing... Words cannot even begin to describe this hotel! Living up to it's name, the entrance / reception area is absolutely majestic, looking over the ocean it blends into the natural scenery perfectly. The staff is also great, always looking to accommodate you in the best way possible for you to enjoy every moment of your stay! From the start on: Rodrigo made sure the check-in went smoothly, even upgrading our stay to an ocean side room, and allowing us to stay a bit longer than check-out due to our late departure plans (we completely understand that this is subject to occupation and do not take it for granted). The food options; Club house, Roman's offer the best variety of food and everything the heart wants! Prior to that you can enjoy the beautiful sunset at the beach, or watch the sun set from the Bar out with an amazing musical entertainment. Great environment to enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine and great service (Carolina). We preferred staying a bit away from the pool and opted for some hammocks farther away near our room, where we would be in a quiet area watching the waves crash under the sun, whilst enjoying the beautiful sounds of nature. Another one of our highlights definitely was the breakfast. I only remember a comparable breakfast from the Royal Mirage in Dubai. However DO NOT WASTE STOMACH SPACE ON THE SMALL STUFF, GO STRAIGHT TO RITA FOR HER AMAZING OMELETTES, PANCAKES AND FRIED EGGS! Simply amazing! Overall the stay was wonderful. Even if the water in the Atlantic is too cold to swim in, you have plenty of other things to do and explore (such as the beautiful town of Obidos) and I would and have already recommended this hotel to several friends. If you have the chance - even if it is just for a night like us - GO. You will be amazed!

While staying at friends villa nearby, we took a walk along the beach and the golf resort. And stopped at Marriott for a coffee in the nice bar and lounge area with fantastic view over the pool area and the sea. Relaxing and beautiful atmosphere, good coffee and excellent service.
