We stayed in nazare for a week at the end of our trip of Portugal. We picked hotel miramar for having a pool, being a 15 min walk and 5 min car ride to the beach, and having free wifi and continental breakfast included. When we arrived we were put in a smaller room facing the street and we complained right away because of the noise from the road. That night they told us they could move us in the morning to a different side of the hotel. The next morning we got a bigger room with a beautiful view of the ocean and pool it was a nice upgrade with no extra charge. The rooms are clean and modern, with slightly big bathrooms depending on the room layout. The only concern about the rooms and the hotel it self, was that it's all carpet and it has a bit of a smell but I believe it's from people coming in from the pool and beach and the humidity and moisture in the air does not do well with carpet. It didn't bother us at all but from other reviews that's what we noticed. The continental breakfast is minimum which was fine for free, typical Europeans don't eat big breakfasts anyways so it was perfect for us. Parking is an issue if you come during tourist season but because we came at the end we were able to park in their alley way with no problem but they did offer us to park at the miramar sol hotel. They also include a shuttle that goes to the beach three times a day that the website does not say which is a great service to have. Everything was great overall from the friendly staff, to the beautiful view and the great location. Would go back and would highly recommend the stay at miramar hotel.
That's exactly what it felt like. The whole hotel smelled of cigarettes but our side of the building and our room was even worse. Even in the spa I could smell it. The room was very mouldy and unpleasant. The breakfast was very simple definitely not a 4 star breakfast. The only positive was the pool which had a great view. But then again I was surrounded by people smoking in the pool which made it unpleasant
I have stayed at Miramar hotel twice during business trips to local factories in the area and I am very happy with this hotel. Staff are very helpful and polite and the breakfast is just amazing. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need except a decent desk to sit at if you have to do some work. Generally the interior design in the rooms feels dated and worn. I compared my room with my colleagues and we both agree that the furniture and fittings felt fine for 1997 and the rooms very dark. However, the view from most rooms and the little patio that our rooms had access to makes up for this. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset.
The hotel reception welcomed us well enough but gave us information which initially led us to believe we would have to pay to use the pool. We sorted this out the next morning and found they were referring to the spa pool. The room was ok but as there were only 2 of us in the room the extra space taken up by the folding bed which was erected in the corner took up extra space we could have used. There was a good sea view but no balcony. The plus sides- clean room, good bathroom and dining room and breakfast area. Breakfast was acceptable but became boring after a week. When we arrived the pool looked very cloudy but cleared after about 3 days and was then useable. All that said we enjoyed our stay and the staff were always very helpful even to the point of printing off the inimitable Easyjet boarding pass.
A bit out of town and average hotel. Breakfast was O.K. but not a resort as promoted. We found it a bit annoying that every time we wanted to go somewhere we had to call a cab. The hotel is situated on a cliff above the town and views are very nice.
We stayed here for one night in July 2017 and had a great night. The hotel was clean and comfortable with wifi throughout. Our room was comfortable and bright. The hotel has a lovely pool and deck area that looks towards the shore and the water with a bar right in the pool area that was very convenient. There is no parking specific to the hotel, but you can park pretty much anywhere, admittedly I found this odd, but that is how it works and we did not have any problem. There is a buffet breakfast that was included that was fresh and plentiful.
Unfortunately the unsmiling staff on reception and at breakfast put a dampener on our stay here. There seemed to be an IT upgrade going on, so perhaps they were under extra stress, but we felt like intruders, being greeted with sullen looks. Hotel otherwise quite good. We had a lovely dinner with some fabulous staff at the attached restaurant and a great view from the balcony.
as it says above in title, every time when we came into the room, the smell was: musty odor. we tried to open the window and leave it open the whole time, but no success. the other fact was that our double the bed a very soft and uncomfortable for 2 personens
Lovely room, quite basic but made up for by the views. Staff were pleasant. Spa couple massage was very nice. Breakfast buffet style and better than expected. Recommend having a room with balcony otherwise just an opening window.
Old, outdated furniture. Disgusting carpeting. Air conditioning that leaked water onto the floor. Would never stay there again. The only thing we liked was breakfast and the view at breakfast.
