I do not know how a hotel like this gets 4* status? Entrance to the hotel in need of maintenance. Reception was dusty and dirty. Staff at reception unhelpful and always seems to be angry! My room was disgustedly filthy,I had to clean it myself as the manger wont show up to talk to me. The bed is hard and had no headrest! Your head hits the wall. Only a duvet without a cover? How is this a hygiene? The floors are all marked and dirt fills the gap, I kept my socks on. The health and safety aspect in this hotel does not exist. So many faults, really I am not here to tell the hotel what to do, as I could tell the staff have no training or tools to use their initiatives. Breakfast was terrible. Nothing seems fresh. Unfortunately, i have pre-paid my stay $220, otherwise i will lose my money. Never again and never book through Hotels.com.
We stayed here for two nights in June 2017. The hotel staff was helpful, courteous and kind. The breakfast buffet was excellent and our room was spacious, clean and very well-appointed. In fact, we decided our first night to spring for the dinner buffet (18 Euro per person) and were not disappointed. The hotel, which is a 6-7 Euro cab ride from the city center (there are no buses and I believe the hotel only runs a shuttle down to the beach during the busy season of July and August), had spectacular views of the beach, the Atlantic and Sitio. We actually walked down hill from the hotel down to the town and beach area below (took us about 30 minutes). However, unless you are very young and fit (I am neither), walking back up is not an option.
Much more vegetables, boiled, fresh grilled to all menues. Portugal is know as a country growing vegetable and however in our 7 dinners/lunchs only once broccoli was served. Also dinners without meat/ fish should be normally available. Joghurt without artifical aromas and sugar. Some easy developing objects in breakfast and other menus should be checked and done, for clients pleasure and health.
Our room was very comfortable, and we had great views from our balcony. We enjoyed both swimming pools - indoor and outdoor. The hotel is somewhat isolated however. If you don't have a car it would be a rather long walk to get to the main town & beach of Nazare.
Staff was friendly, room was clean with slight view of beach/harbor from balcony, restaurant and drinks extremely overpriced compared to down below in town. Their other facility (also on hill) had all the amenities and you had to travel over to that facility to enjoy. Hard to get down to beach .... wouldn't recommend staying up here. Plenty of parking here but tough in town if you travel down to enjoy great beach and restaurants ... which we did. No shuttle to facility or beach.
We stayed here one night while visiting Nazare. As we were driving and did not want to fight the parking situation in town, we picked this hotel. It's a modern, very nice, full service hotel. I would give it five stars but for the fact that one cannot walk into Nazare (reasonably) from the hotel. But is you're driving and want to get away from the beach scene in the evening, this place is perfect. The rooms are spacious, the amenities nice, and the staff friendly. It seems to cater mostly to tours, but they did not get in our way. The breakfast is a full spread with plenty of variety. There isn't a lot of character - it's a modern hotel - but you know what you are getting and there will be no surprises. It was a nice visit!
Great location above the city of Nazare. Very friendly and helpful staff and good food at the restaurant. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good with a great variety of sweet and savoury items. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Fantastic view on the ocean! Clean and nice hotel located in the pinewood, friendly and cozy atmosphere, careful staff. You will enjoy the sunsets and morning walks in the wood. Some distance from the city centre and the ocean, however it is a nice walk or 5 mins taxi drive.
This was the flop of our trip. You would be better choosing elsewhere if possible, based on our experience. Location: not really close to anything unless you drive. The lookout is about a 20 minute walk, but the main part of town and the beach can take upwards of 45 minutes. There were rumours of a shuttle but we did not see one. The reception would not order a taxi for us. Hotel: check-in was easy but cold. We asked for restaurant suggestions and were only given information to their restaurant and their sister hotel's place. When asked to make a reservation for us at one in town, they refused, citing it was their competitor so they could not. To top things off, upon check-out, there was a blatant stall by the receptionist to have her colleague inspect our room before we could leave (we always leave them tidy). We've never encountered that before, anywhere. Room: we had a ground-floor room with a patio, that gave zero privacy unless we closed the blackout curtains (and one of the curtains in our room was broken). We inquired about an upgrade to a sea-view room but were not offered, even though the hotel appeared mostly vacant. Bed is fine. The room was clean. In particular to our experience, it hadn't been fully prepared: we were missing towels and pillows. Unfortunately it was also not soundproof, as advertised, but rather quite noisy. Bathroom: we had a tub/shower combo. It was clean, but very sterile looking. Breakfast: on the top floor in the panoramic restaurant. Buffet style. Sadly the fruit was canned and the OJ appeared to be from a powdered mix. Parking was free. We did not try their pool or spa. The attached photo shows the view from our room (bottom) versus the view from outside (top). Overall this was an unpleasant surprise for us, and would not return here again.
It was a joy to visit this hotel placed at the top if the hill when a fantastic panorama view. Next year we will come with the whole handball team to enjoy your facilities even more. Until then I hope you open the restaurant akso duting low season. I also hope your stock of Vino Verde will be bigger next year. Excellent shuttle service! Thanks Rafael!
