This hotel has just kept on improving over the years, we have been staying at this hotel for the past 8 years on and off. The customer service and comfort is what keeps us coming back, the rooms are bright and comfortable, some can be a little noisy with road noise or other guests but the beds are comfortable, and the rooms and bathrooms are clean, breakfast is included which consists of an assortment of breads, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, scrambled egg and lovely fresh coffee! The staff always remember us as we are repeat customers and the prices for rooms are extremely reasonable for what is included and the location. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who checked us in on the evening of the 11th June, she is always working when we come to this hotel and she always remembers us, this lady along with all the other staff is a credit to your hotel, her customer service is second to none and it's always a pleasure to see her. The only downside to this hotel is that the free parking is quite far up a steep hill.
Mare is just about the place to stay at Nazare, their rooms are done up just as per the feel of the city. Calm n relaxed with that aqua touch all over. But their breakfast needs to be upgraded with more options. It was too basic. Overall the staff of extra friendly especially at the reception, they're always smiling and ready to guide you.
Basic holiday hotel, rooms were clean and a reasonable size. Breakfast was basic. The hotel staff were very accommodating, particularly the front desk. Parking is available but the garage is about 500 meters away up a hill.
some positives. room we eventually received was clean and comfortable. We had booked a double room. this was argued until we produced evidence of booking and request. we then told that it is only preference not a guarantee. so it was twin beds in a room that stunk of cigarettes. perfume applied. no free parking. we had to park car 500m away in a free space or pay 5euros in hotel secure space. no english speaking channel on tv. very clear that hotel caters for groups. they got rooms on high floors with nice outlook etc, breakfast also poor. stale pastries. cannot recommend.plenty of better options in what is a really beautiful little town
Will start with the positives Room and ensuite clean and spacious. Had requested double. Told several times we had made no such request. Asked about availability of higher floor. Offered room 101. Twin beds facing noisy street. Asked about room at back. Room 109. Room however stunk of cigarettes . We showed our printout of booking confirmation. Then advised room request is a preference not guaranteed. Free parking not free. Choice of driving 500m up hill to find free space. Or paying 5euros to park in hotel's secure parking. Hotel clearly prefers groups who will assume pay a premium. They had all higher floors and breakfast room open for them at 0730. Stale crossiants. Lots of other choices on tripadvisor! Cannot recommend. Very disappointing
If you're a light sleeper think twice before staying here. They start preparing breakfast before 7 am on top 5th floor with beautiful views but noisy marble floors. Sound eccos throughout the building. We were on the third floor and we're woken up at 7 am by moving chairs and closing of cabinets. Otherwise nice location, clean and friendly staff.
Very basic with much too soft bed. Clean bathroom and plenty of hot water. Very basic breakfast. Nice, clean and quiet. Located on a good place, close to city center and to the cable train. The front desk are always willing to help with big smile.
A well located hotel, near the beach, shops, restaurants and funicular train. Staff are friendly and rooms are very clean and comfortable. Would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternate beach holiday.
Nice and functionnal rooms in a perfect location : 5 min walking distance from the beach ! Parking is quite far (but at least there is one !). A bit noisy. Breakfast needs to be improved (could you do fresh orange juice and better coffee + add eggs ?) Still recommended
Hotel Mare is located in the heart of Nazaré. It is very close to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the funicular that take you up to Sitio (where there is a great view of the beach below). However, the walk to the bus station is about 10-15 minutes. The room we had was comfortable. It was on the 4th floor and had a great view. The wifi worked well and the breakfast was decent. The staff were generally friendly and helpful.
