We arrived at the hotel for three nights with friends. Must be noted that we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the staff, especially the manager Mr. Elmer, who gave us a completely homely feeling, The food is excellent and the rooms are very nice. Location is a seven minute walk from the city center. highly recommend!
Excellent hotel, amazing location, amazing service! Five-star hospitality! The hotel staff helps in everything that is most pleasantly needed. Very good Breakfast in fair price warmly recommended! Thanks for amazing 3 days
Baden-Baden is an expensive place to stay. The Leonardo is not the most expensive but it is not cheap. How it qualifies as a 4 star is difficult to answer. Our check-in was very, very slow. We had an issue with our on-line booking company but the receptionist gave us the same deal. I am not sure whether Amoma or the hotel was the issue with our online booking. After a slow check-in, the next issue was the room key did not work for the duration of our stay. The corridor had a faint smell of either old rug or dirty feet. Not strong but not pleasant. The room itself was ok, average size and it was clean. It was not fancy in either way. The reception recommended a restaurant that was closed that night. The parking was full and we had to park on the street. The check out was slow again but we managed to get the Amoma deal effective. We ate breakfast out because of the exhorbitant price requested. We would do more research before staying there again.
We got the suite and regretted it the minute we opened the door. It was a dark room despite a balcony, with tilted "head bump" walls, one painted brown, brown carpet, and not a lot of space. It wasn't warm enough to use the balcony. The price was just too high for what we received. The walk into town was nice on a sunny day, but we got lost on the way back. The check in was a bit curt, and we were not told that the swimming pool was closed for maintenance, which would have been helpful so we might have planned out day to one of the city spas. It was quiet, however, and breakfast was fine. I wasn't happy about the hotel changing my credit card currency from euro to $$, therefore becoming the banker and determining the (more favorable to hotel) exchange rate. I wasn't asked; it just happened. I would choose another place next time...closer to the town.
A wonderful and friendly hotel. Our room was very clean with a balcony and a great view of the surrounding countryside. The staff and the manager Elmar were very friendly and helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was very lavish - one of the best that we have had in Europe. The spa facilities, gym and pool were all excellent and very clean, very well equipped for a hotel this size. Our trip was in October with the weather becoming cooler but the grounds were well maintained and it would have been very nice to sit out for morning breakfast or during the day.
Experienced Superb hospitality from all staff and management - rooms were spacious and very clean. Really enjoyed the leisure facilities with modern gym equipment and crystal clear swimming pool plus great sauna facilities too. Varied and tasty breakfast. Only downside was the cost due to a minimum of 4 days booking required during a busy 'conference week'. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.
