Holiday Inn Express Baden-Baden

This hotel ticks most of the boxes, good location, breakfast fine, car parking fine but... Rooms are on the small side but good value for money for overnight stay. Sadly the mattress was most uncomfortable, needs replacing and the pillows! Like sleeping with your head on a brick! This together with other loud and inconsiderate guests did not make for a good nights sleep. We were woken by another guests literally hammering on our door, she will have woken the rest of the corridor too I am sure in the middle of the night. Not a hotel we will return to again.

Decent hotel at a perfect location. Hotel breakfast could be better. I was tired to eat same food for 7 days. Fruits were smelling old. Near town center, restaurants, bus station, casino etc. If I will ever visit Baden-Baden again, I will stay again in this hotel.

Booked this with points. Check in was easy after we parked our car in the garage (14 euro per day). Room was on the small side but quite clean and functional for 2 people. Breakfast was very good, lots from which to choose. Best of all for us was the extremely helpful and pleasant front desk staff, especially Nina who booked us a restaurant and served us after dinner drinks when we came back from our evenings out. We enjoyed walking into the city center and highly recommend the Fredrichsbad

Although the rooms at HIE BB were small they were clean and more importantly the washroom spotless and looked recently refurbished. The only problem with the room was the washroom the shower temperature was difficult to get right. It was either too hot or too cold but nothing in between. The A/C was easy to use and kept the room cool at night while also being quiet. And WiFi was free reliable and fast. Breakfast was basic but at least the coffee was good. Not all was perfect however. While the rooms and lobby were clean the common areas were heavily soiled and stained. Maybe in order to save costs the hotel only refurbished the rooms and decided to leave the landing areas soiled. No big deal I thought. The other problem with the hotel was the carpark. It was small and could only take a few cars in which case you were forced to park at the opera house about 100m down the road and hike it back to the hotel. We also had a rollaway bed in the room and it was deathly uncomfortable. Despite the few downsides the hotel gets the important things right though. Location wise was its reasonably OK and the Baden town center is a 15 minute leisurely stroll from the hotel. Hotel was expensive for what it is, staff were friendly and overall the hotel was clean. The room was rather small, no safe supplied. The bathroom was up to date and the shower very good. We were able to park our motorbikes in the underground car park for free. A short walk takes you into the town, plenty of places to eat. We had breakfast in the hotel, it was included in the price and had an ok selection.

We're a family with two small kids. Front desk lady was unfriendly. Rooms were very small and the couch bed provided to my kids were very hard. Breakfast was included and it was OK considering it's a Holiday Inn Express.

We were heading to Austria with 2 dogs and needed a stop off. Easy to find and a good shady car park as it was 30C and hot. Good english speaking staff who were efficient and polite. Clean simple room with all you need. If you want spas and swimming pools go somewhere else. We had a beer in the bar and again excellent service. You are able to walk out of the hotel onto paths leading to the town and it is an easy walk. Excellent breakfast and good selection at the buffet. You can eat outside which is a bonus. Not cheap though if you add the extra cost for parking and the extra cost for the dogs and local tax but overall good value.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the start of the pedestrian zone in the center of town. Staff were very kind and attentive. We chose this hotel because they accomodate two adults and two kids in one room with a queen bed + convertible sofa bed, which was pre prepared with linens when we entered the room, nice touch! However the room becomes (understandably) tight when the sofa is converted into a bed. For us this was a fair trade off versus renting two hotel rooms. The complementary wifi was very speedy. Though we may have had the premium service due to loyalty status. Breakfast was better than expected. It is a small buffet with enough choices to satisfy most tastes. Staff were prompt on replenishment and happy to assist as needed. The walk to the pedestrian zone is level, no hills to go up / down and it is a straight shot down the street. We did not have a car. Occaisionally we used taxis to get back if we were tired. Overall the property is well maintained, common areas, dining den, rooms even the stair well was spotless. Its not a lavish property, but for the segment it is aimed at it is an excellent value choice.

With a leisurely stroll, it is about 15 'from the city center, and there is also a bus for which we have given free tickets to the reception. Modern building and decoration are quite modern, both in communal spaces, which are small, and in rooms whose size is satisfactory. Clean, comfortable, without missing anything. Very good and the bath. The staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was not very varied, but it was delicious, and if the weather is good, it is served in a beautiful outdoors. It has private parking and free wi-fi, and prices are reasonable.

Upon checking in at the Holiday Inn Express Baden-Baden, we found this location to be not far from the city center and only about a 20 minute bus ride from the train station. We were greeted promptly with a smile and check in was quite easy. We were fortunate upon check-in as it was not busy but when a big crowd of people comes, it gets quite chaotic. Not sure if the hotel is short staffed but if you needed to ask a question it would be quite the wait behind the folks needing to check in. It seems smoother when there are less people. They do have some delicious lemon drops in jars at the desk and there is a small bar and outdoor patio area for seating. The breakfast is plentiful and has great coffee. There is also an ICE machine which is a rare find! The rooms are clean. Their is "hand and body wash" at the sink and in the shower but no bar soap, shampoo or conditioner. You might want to bring your own if you you prefer another kind. In our room, the door that closes the bathroom, can also be used as the door that closes off the toilet. (Be careful you notice this or the door may close onto your hand). While it was a unique feature it was hard to avoid it closing on my hand upon arrival. Beds and pillows are average for what you would expect from an HI Express and can't beat the free breakfast. Wifi worked well for us here. All in all it was a pleasant experience. Would stay at this location again.
