Very comfortable bed and clean room. Nice Hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. One of staff suggested to go to the market across the road from the Hotel and that was a small market but nice. We enjoyed the food from the various stalls. Overall excellent staff and hotel.
I am a frequent traveller to Tas for both business and pleasure. I recently stayed at the Grand Chancellor and like any grand old lady she is showing her age but the attention from the staff is second to none in Launceston. They are too happy to help even with a trivial matter of getting some ice for me at 4am as I had torn a Quad muscle. After I had returned from my car to retrieve some medication the night manage met me at the door with a bucket of ice and seed if I needed assistance back to my room. I did't but I much appreciated not having to walk further than necessary. I have not had ^star service like that since My favourite hotel "greta Fosters " in Egham England(see my review)
Needs refurbishing tiles not matching looking shabby, carpet needs replacing in rooms very disappointing. Lots of noise from the street particularly from party goers. Do you havea security guard on premises? Otherwise great central position to everything in the city. Service from staff very good and welcoming. But I did say to my husband not sure where we will stay next year. We also requested to be able to go into our room early as we needed to prepare for a course we were conducting I rang a week before to request this last year we got in earlier but this year had to wait till 12:30pm which was not as good! Thankyou
When I noticed that there was no toilet brush in my room, I immediately went to Reception to report it. Their response was: "None of our rooms have toilet brushes, Mam". Apart from this, we found the Grand Chancellor to be so centrally located to everything we wanted to visit. Our room had two double beds which was wonderful for my daughter and I to stretch out in.
On our recent holiday in Tasmania we stayed at the Grand Chancellor in Launceston. We arrived from Devenport about 830pm and was greeted by the most welcoming people. Our room was fantastic and the meals in the restaurant simply irresistible. The waiter was a real character whom has us laughing all through our delicious meal. The staff were always ready to assist in any way possible and we cannot wait to visit and stay again.
close to shops and entertainment areas excellent breakfast free parking was very handy would be a good place for families visiting launceston to stay as parks and sporting facilities are very close. i would rate it 8/10
Perfect location, as it is very central. Friendly staff, clean and modern rooms. Would recommend this business highly. Perfect for business travel. I plan to stay again next trip to Launceston. Only downside is no on site Gym or Pool.
Our stay was a short one and we needed a room for the night. check in wasn't an issue and at near mid night we felt welcome. Staff were very friendly and were eager to help if anything arose having staff available 24hrs was excellent Thanks
Hotel is in a convenient location, walking distance in to the mall. Room service was quick and delicious. An excellent experience. Conference room was well set out and meals were yummy. Parking costs are quite cheap for a full day.
Very nice stay, clean rooms, lovely staff. Very close to Launceston City Centre. Reasonably priced. Rooms were very comfortable with everything you could need. Parking was cheap and convenient to the hotel. Would definitely stay again.
