The hotel has great value. The receptionists were always friendly and chirpy. They helped book a couple of restaurants for us. Good location, near the centre of town and eating places. Huge room with plenty of space and amenities, including a fridge and microwave. There was even a couch, and table and chairs by the window. Complimentary biscuits were kindly topped up daily for those with midnight munchies. For the budget conscious, there are a few breakfast options, with continental being the fully cooked thing. The one on booking.com offered toast and cereal which was enough for us. The hotel also provided a list of restaurants and microwavable meals for sale. There are laundry and dryer machines (close at 8pm). Note that due to the slightly-off-centre location, the hotel is situated on a slope. Not an issue if you drove (free parking on site) or don't mind a bit of walking, but it would be inconvenient if you had mobility issues or were dragging huge suitcases.

Staff incredibly helpful and friendly rooms are clean and hotel in a great location we had a city view room and couldnt stop looking out the window. Easy walk to CBD and easy to find from the freeway. Offsite parking available and we never had trouble getting a park. The only issue is the noise, its an old building (well maintained) but this means you can hear everything going on in your neighbours room and could hear the people above you walking around.

Loved it...small hotel with very friendly staff. Perfect location, walk into Launceston CBD, off street parking for the hire car.....excellent continental breakfast. Short walk to many attractions. ..automobile museum, City Park for great coffee at Victorias and visit the snow monkeys. Would definitely stay here again

We only stayed here 1 night and we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. It's fairly simple but the rooms are lovely and clean and well equipped. It seems the owners have thought of everything for your stay. The staff are extremely helpful in giving advice on places to visit in Launceston. Breakfast was excellent. $15 for continental which was adequate for me and my husband upgraded his to a full breakfast for $22. We can highly recommend this hotel to visitors to Launceston.

Although we only had a four night stay, Trevor-owner, manager, made us feel like we were home. He provided an invaluable service when Vern lost his Kindle on the bus from Hobart. He suggested we immediately take his business card back to the bus station "just in case", it was returned! Huge help. His suggestions on places to see and eat were spot on. The hotel is block walls and light on decorations, but it has all you really need. Power for electronics (our biggest deal) and table to work at and eat. The entertainment options were more than I could even comprehend, we had great choices and saw shows and movies we've never seen. The kettle, microwave and refrigerator (small) held our small bits as well as mini-bar offerings. We did eat in our room all but one meal out. The bed is firm and the bathroom has a shelf that you really need for your stuff. The breakfast was ideal for us! Fresh fruit, three juices, about five varieties of cereal, yogurts, several breads and lots to put on your toast. His sincere interest in our travels led to a late checkout, which only available if scheduling allows. What a full service hotel. The price is an excellent value and was a better fit for comfort than places that charge more. It's easy to walk to anywhere, and we did. Excellent choice, last thought, it is immaculate!

Stayed here for 1 night in a very spacious twin room. We were ready for some comfort, after competing in the Master's Games. Liked the fact that the shower was in a separate room from the vanity and loo. Big mugs were provided as well as cups, plus a teapot - nice touches. The single bed was in an alcove off the main room, good for some privacy. Excellent continental buffet breakfast next morning.

The Balmoral on York is in a good location on the edge of the Launceston CBD snd just a short walk from the mall. Our room was a little dated but it was spacious, clean and had everything we needed - comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, Netflix and super fast WiFi. The continental breakfast included in our room rate was ok and the owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for one night. The staff were very friendly, the room was warm and the beds were comfortable. Microwave in the room was handy. This motel had ample off street parking and is very close to the mall. Continental breakfast was included and very adequate with a choice of cereals, bread, spreads and fruit salad. Good value for money.

Older style hotel which was clean and comfortable. We had a city view room and stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms are well appointed with air con, microwave, plates and cutlery. The rooms all offer cable, apple and all the popular media options. Our room included a continental buffet breakfast which was very good with plenty of choices. The reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

We stayed here for one night with friends prior to a journey to Cradle Mountain. We were warmly greeted by the owner and the room did not disappoint. Very comfy beds room overlooking the city and plenty of space all made for a good experience. This Place is well priced and very good value for a stay in Launceston. It's close to the city centre to restaurants bars etc. Recommend !
