If you like 60s / 70s reto and the lingering aroma of greasy spoon then this is for you. Unfortunately, due to a long days travel ( from Austria ) we arrived late to a less than warm welcome. No Bar service, food, car park was full, no lift, dreary decor and unfortunate smell in the air. The breakfast was good but uninspired, as I said very retro. Shame really could be a lovely little hotel but seriously needs a make over and new customer approach.
What a lovely hotel. I stayed here for a night and was nothing but impressed. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and whilst slightly dated, it took me back to holidays with my grandparents when I was a child. Our room was spotless and there was everything we needed. If you are looking for clinical, this probably isn't the hotel for you but if you are looking for homely, inexpensive and friendly, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The breakfast was great, plenty of it and a good selection. So nice to see a family hotel nowadays and this one was very well run. We couldn't have asked for more!
this is a great little cheap hotel, its not the ritz but for the price i think its excellent and if I need to stay in northampton again I will book again. me and my brother checked in and were given our room key, we were given a triple room with two rooms, so was great we could sleep in different rooms. Biscuits and chocs in room Breakfast also included in the rate of £40.50 for both of us. Both our breakfast plates were filled up. yes the rooms need a bit updating but if u want more you have to pay more, so this hotel is great for people on a budget, Ran by identical twins for years and you really struggle to tell them apart,
Stayed at this Hotel for a budget night away and accommodation was excellent and breakfast was fab very close to town centre for a walkabout and would definitely go back to this Hotel good size room and a TV screen you can watch 42in and bed was very comfortable.
Honestly don't think I could have booked a worse hotel. The road up to the car park is terrible, surprised I didn't get stuck in one of the huge potholes on my way up. To be fair this isn't the hotels fault but not an ideal start. The gate to the hotel is locked at night and cars park in the middle of the car park so if you want to leave first thing then you've got no chance as you'll probably be blocked in. As for the room, it was inexcusable. We had to sleep without the duvet for the first night as the red quilt cover had some very prominent white stains on it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and I had springs digging in me every time I moved. The room desperately needed TLC and was generally dirty - dust webs everywhere and dirty drawers. Bedroom was very dated and bathroom not nice. After a terrible freezing nights sleep we went for breakfast which was not great. The cereal was the best bit. The rest of it was cheap tasting meat and a lot of baked beans. There was also no hairdryer in the room although it stated there was one on the website. Reception happily gave me one when I asked, as well as apologising for the dirty covers and agreeing to replace them that day as unfortunately we were staying for 2 nights. We did get a clean duvet cover and towels on the second day. Had another bad nights sleep albeit slightly warmer. Didn't even bother with breakfast the second morning. Would rather pay more next time as this one certainly wasn't worth £45 a night.
the route for the parking was a little bumpy, when we got there there was plenty of spaces but on one occasion we barely got through the doors and then i had to get up early to move the vehicle to let someone out. the reception was closed when we got there and took a couple of attempts to get service, we were shown our room, we had to get our luggage up some steep stairs. the room was basic with some nice storage space, t v ,coffee making facilities. the windows did not open due to being broken, the room was under whelming and outdated but i think justified the price which was reasonable. the breakfast was ok, plenty of it but low quality produce. by the third morning i had halved the quantity the coffee was nice. the traffic on the main road starts early and is noisy. the shower was small but hot. probably wouldnt stay again.
Recently stayed at the hotel. Welcome was very warm. The rooms are dated but comfortable and clean. Only one comment about the room would be that the cleaner needs to be more careful of the corners with the feather duster. The breakfast is generous and delicious. I would stay here again.
Found this hotel, on google maps and checked on Tripadvisor. Compared to others in the area this seemed a good deal. The prices were reasonable and not too far walking distance to the town centre. We needed an overnight stay after seeing a show in town. Parking was secure and accessed through an unmade road. The welcome was okay and clear, in general the staff were friendly. The rooms were a good size for the one night, but could do with a really good clean, and redecoration. Some of the fitting in the en suite were worn and dated, however for the price per night it seems okay. I would use it again , but only for a night. The breakfast was really good, choice of cereals on the table, and waitress served. The full english was extremely tasty and plenty of it. Teas and toast were also good.
Stayed for 2 nights over the Silverstone weekend and the prices were very high and not really good value for money. The 2nd floor room was just really average.Unable to move in the bed without groans and creaks The floors were noisy and this was exacerbated by the corridors outside which also creaked. The room was clean and the en suite although clean needed some tender loving care. Breakfast was the leading light of the stay.Substantial, well cooked and of good quality. The car park itself is good but the "road" to it is a mere dirt track.
This hotel is on the main road, there is plenty of parking at the rear, securely locked at night. This hotel is quaint inside with winding staircases (no lift), however the staff are friendly and I am sure would help with luggage if required. The room was clean and beds comfortable and contained a fridge (much appreciated in this hot weather). The breakfast room was light and airy and the service friendly. The breakfast was very large, enough to set you up for the week rather than the day (see photo). They also served a choice of cereal, tea, coffee, toast and choice of jams plus orange juice or water.
