Arrived early. Was able to check in and leave bags. Receptionist was helpful with all my questions. Room and hotel is dated however the bed was the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. It was huge. The sofa bed for my son was also comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the water was hot. The room was cold and I think that the heating is noisy and not great but they had left heaters in the wardrobe so all good. We had dinner at the hotel both nights. The set menu was the best meal and great value. The breakfast was fantastic. My husband and son used the pool. Everything that is important, the bed, bathroom and food was excellent. The staff are great too. I normally never stay the same place twice but would make an exception.
I enjoyed my return to this hotel for a social event. The reception was well staffed when I arrived just after 3pm and check in was seamless. My room was good overall though there was a plumbing issue which I resolved myself rather than complaining and risk being moved to another room after I had unpacked everything. The evening event went very well, the catering was fairly good and all the staff performed well. I was impressed with the breakfast service, a very good selection being on offer. On departure the receptionist was excellent. I will be very happy to come again.
We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary here with family and friends. We had a three course carvery Sunday lunch with wine. I liaised with Nicola before the event and she was very helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. All our guests enjoyed the day.
I stayed here due to a business meeting I needed to attend. However reception was very slow in processing my check in and when ordering some dinner at the bar was told to hurry up and order as they had a number of pre bookings and needed to the table back. Would not recommend....
Admittedly we splashed out a bit on a Superior Room but we got it at a great rate on a Saturday night and were hugely impressed with the space and comfort. Staff were friendly and attentive without being in your face and there's a very chilled feel about the whole place. Back in a few months and already looking forward to it
Little disappointed with Marriott....... Maybe I’ve been watching too much of four in a bed but sadly the room wasn’t clean. An old urine strain on the underneath of the toilet seat which was clearly visible gave me little faith the room had been cleared properly. Poor choice of teas and coffee as no hot chocolate, no bottle of water and only 2 tiny mills each. Just felt the hotel made no effort to make the stay special, it’s like they have the executive name but lost the personal touches. I did mention all my complaints with Marriott but they did not seem to care as I’d already paid and left. Positive note breakfast was very good with great selection but I’m sure you could get the same from any B&B. Just expected more for the price.
A Saturday night stay with friends. A large room with a huge and comfortable bed. Room decor in good order . Despite a number of functions going on, the hotel was very quiet overnight. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast - nice range of food. Staff very attentive. The only negative (and it is a small one) is the bedroom corridors are somewhat dated and could do with freshening up. A lift to the first floor would also be helpful.
Received a Virgin Experience voucher for 2. Hotel was nice enough but on arrival the jacizzi was broken. We were offered oppoetunity to rebook or drive 40mins to the next nearest marriot. We declined both and decided to stay as it was hard to find a date we could both do. Had a relaxing enough time but the facilities are very basic for a £45 day pass when some cheap gyms have a better health suite. Will not visit again or recommend to anyone. Very poor value for money.
Myself and my extended family stayed at the Northampton Marriott for the weekend of the 5th, 6th and 7th January 2018. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast for the duration. Our extended family (now exceeding 45 members) have stayed at this hotel annually for over 20 years. This particular stay offered no exception to the reasons why we book year after year. For such a large party the staff coped extremely well; nothing was too much trouble and all tastes were catered for particularly in the restaurant. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable and the food both at breakfast and in the evening was fantastic.
We stayed for 2 nights in mid-December to meet up with nearby family members. We had a deluxe room on the ground floor which was very comfortable. There were office parties in the function rooms but we did not hear any noise in our room. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was also pleasant. One point I would make is that I did not notice a service charge had been added to the dinners and I added a tip. When I saw the final account I mentioned this and the bill was altered to remove my extra tip.
