The staff really do provide a superb standard of service. The location, just off the M1 motorway, is great. Rooms have been refurbished and I slept very well indeed. I would definitely return without hesitation!
As others have mentioned, this hotel has been refurbished to a very, very high standard especially for a “roadside Inn”. The rooms are exceedingly comfortable and good looking with excellent lighting throughout - once you have worked out how to turn the bedside lights on!! The bathroom is brilliant with walk in shower and, unusually for hotels, excellent lighting - herself would have loved that!! The foyer/restaurant area is also very good indeed and lends a good feel to the place from the moment you walk in from the huge car park. However, it is not just the rooms and foyer that make this place remarkable but the staff. They are, without exception, cheery, helpful, and very well trained. We had a bit of a situation resulting in one of our party requiring an ambulance and the staff, in particular the duty manager, were absolutely caring and brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, even with him lying on the floor in the busy bar, it was not treated as an inconvenience. The staff, together with a fellow guest, were all so, so helpful and brilliant in a difficult situation. Happily all turned out well and I would like to say a big thank you to all concerned. Another separate incident showed another member of staff being particularly helpful - a motorist was lost following their being diverted off the nearby motorway. He not only painstakingly explained where to go but also printed off a map with detailed instructions - this at 2am in the morning! Chapeau “lads and laddesses” - we will be back and not just for the excellent free WiFi!!!
What a comfortable stay we had! Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff! Our rooms were clean, modern and particularly, the showers were spacious and powerful. Although there was no remote for the tv, buttons on the side of the television provided ample control over the device. In addition, despite no iron in the room, one was delivered post haste. No request was too much. Despite arriving just in time for breakfast, the lovely waiter put more hash browns on to cook without us having to request! A highlight of the stay was Bode's priceless humour and hospitality. He made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. He waved us off with a cheery goodbye! If we are ever in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay. A definite highlight, hidden gem and jewel in the crown of Northampton West.
Staff were all very friendly, location was excellent with free parking and free WiFi. Bedrooms were newly refurbished and of a good standard. The only negative was the poor breakfast - we went down on Sunday Morning about 9.30am and there was not much left and it did not seem to be replenished. So on this alone I would have to say that whilst the rate was good, the staff were good and the location was perfect I would hesitate before booking again.
Arriving at 0945hrs for a meeting I enjoyed a reasonable buffet breakfast in the hotel foyer; the "smart conservatory restaurant" described on the hotel's website as the breakfast venue, had been demolished some time ago. Our meeting rooms were on the first floor; airy and well equipped, with a door opening onto a balcony, and set out with a digital projector and pen/notepad at each delegate place. Surprisingly there was no lift; none of the people attending had mobility problems, but any disabled person attended this meeting would have been very embarrassing for the organisers, and for the hotel. There were formerly meeting rooms on the ground floor; these, like the restaurant, had been demolished. I ordered a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch; this was mediocre, with an ordinary slice of cheddar cheese and some pickle in a white sliced bread; there was no sign of the crispy lettuce that was promised in the menu.. It took 20 minutes to prepare. Overall an average experience; the superb location of the hotel near the M1 Junction 16, and the Daventry link road (under construction) make access very easy by car. Anyone booking the meeting rooms should be advised when doing so that there is no disabled access.
I stayed at the hotel last night. The accommodation was really good. This morning I was unable to find a table that had been cleared to have breakfast. I had to sit at a dirty table with someone's left over cups etc. I was not provided with any cutlery. There were no plates at the counter. I was offered porridge in a paper cup and a hot cup of milk to mix together (disgusting). Only other thing I could eat was fruit. Such a shame as it is a nice hotel. When I asked if someone had phoned in sick and this is why the tables had not been cleaned I was informed that they are always short staffed!!!!
I am a frequent Holiday Inn customer and this hotel was a bit smaller, but the rooms were very good. Always comfortable with everything you need. I arrived late and the only minor downside was no lift to the first floor. I always avoid hotel breakfasts unless they are included. You must try the Lockgate Café (NN11 2NH). Good food at a good price by the canal with lots of barges. It is in a back road, but joins the A5 then the M1. At present quicker than going on the M1.
I was working over the weekend nearby and decided to stay over and the Flore Holiday Inn offered a room for a very low rate for a Sunday night. The usual room and facilities but given we are at the end of the summer, the decorative order etc was first class. The bathroom (shower only) was sparkling and the towels virtually new. Great choice of pillows and good air conditioning ensured a decent sleep. Good buffet breakfast with wide choice - shame about the tiny plates! I've previously organised a large meeting at this location and can confirm the high satisfaction rate with the facilities and well trained staff.
stayed in holiday inn for 2 nights only because i couldnt book into a premier inn which my company pays for, this nice hotel turned out to be great and why we have not got an account with holiday inn instead of premier inn, it worked out cheaper and the offered a lot more than premier inn whom seem to up there prices for busineses to 5 start prices for 3 start accommadation, free wifi in the room, shampoos and soaps in the bathroom a gym and welcoming staff, nice bright rooms with all mod coms, put this up against a premier inn where every thing is basic and cost more for dingy over priced rooms,
I do not want to be too critical of the hotel as we did sleep well, the rooms were large and comfy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The main issue we had was the price and the breakfast! We stayed here for one night as part of a wedding weekend having stoped at the nearby premier inn the previous night. We were able to ring up easily and found the booking process very good. However, the price of this hotel was considerably more expensive than the nearby premier inn and although the decor and rooms are nicer the breakfast certainly isn't! We were able to get the room at a reduced rate as part of the wedding party but having been initially quoted the usual price before the discount I'm not sure I would be happy paying around £140 a night here. The main reason for this was the breakfast. As stated previous we were at the premier inn the previous night which offered a marvellous freshly cooked breakfast to order however, at the holiday inn the breakfast was in a buffet style (which I wouldn't mind but the price difference between the two would imply that this should be the other way round)! However, the main issue with the breakfast was that when you got up to use the buffet the chap behind the counter would stand and stare at what you whilst you were taking your food making it feel like you shouldn't be having the 2 sausages instead of 1. But, by far the worse part of the breakfast was that it was cold!!!! The hash brown could have been used for bricks and the vegetarian and meat sausages seemed to be served from the same pan! If they were both meat sausages then it wasn't clear what the differences were between the two! There was also no black pudding which was offered at the premier inn and the beans and bacon were so cold it seemed like they had been sat there for hours. There seemed to be no food probe on the front and I never saw anyone checking either. On a positive note we had a man serving us on the front with tea and coffee who was very friendly and made the experience bearable but overall very disappointed! I don't know about anyone else but one of the main aspects I look forward to about staying in a hotel is the breakfast and this one sadly disappointed me which I have to say is a first for any hotel or B&B ☹ stayed 22/07/17
