The hotel is in a fantastic location by the water. We had a great view from our room and it was easy walking distance to the sites: the Shambles, Mikelgate, York Minster, the Castle museum, etc. Also walking distance to the train station. Staff were quite welcoming and provided a bag with crayons and stickers for our daughter. The facility itself is a bit dated and not luxurious, but perfectly serviceable.

Was in York visiting friends and needed a place that was in my budget and within walking distance of the city's sites.

The hotel location is very good for access to the city. We were placed in the annex due to booking through a discounted source. Tower rooms were better appointed with chairs and small anteroom. This room had no space for chairs so we the bed was the only place to sit. Carpet was repaired in several places and not really clean. Walls scuffed. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly.

The Park Inn is only ten minutes by foot from the York railroad station and about the same distance from the magnificent York Minster Cathedral, Museum gardens and ancient city wall. What is probably the world's finest railroad museum is also easy walking distance. Many restaurants are nearby. Our 4th flloor room had a panormic view of the River Ouse, the cathedral and the old city. The room was nicely appointed although the bath was on the small side. The restaurant served a good breakfast.

I took the train here from London. The hotel is only a short walk from the train station. The location is great and this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. At breakfast there is staff that greets you as you come in to sit down. This is new for me. The breakfast was very good. I liked the lounge that overlooks the river, a very nice place to relax. I highly recommend this hotel. thanks

Overall the hotel was good. Reception quite helpful. Room nice, clean. I would stay there again. Close to the rail station and convenient for sightseeing.

Hotel is close to the wonderful world of York and yet is just enough away to allow one to retreat to its great confines to rest and relax between those sorties back out into the wonderful world of York. Staff was always present and helpful with suggestions and information. City of York itself is the best attraction of all. One of England's best kept secrets! Hotel is bright and cheery, decore is modern and tasteful, everything clean. Price is attractive for what you get for it. Restaurant on the premise is a bit expensive though. I would suggest more moderate prices can be found off premise.

wished they had breakfast there (continental or coffee); hotel was handy to everything I wanted to see. would go back to see more and have time out of the city to see concerts / plays etc. Friendly york abbey is awesome - climb to the top to see the entire city!

this hotel is pretty big in a small town. it's also across the river from the part of York where you'll spend your time. no problem there, as a walk from the hotel up and across the bridge and into town is not more than 7 minutes. and if you're lucky enough to get a room looking towards the old town, you'd have really nice views i imagine (ours looked the wrong way, but was still enjoyable enough). the place has kind of a Marriot feel to it, but it's fine. i prefer a more boutique feel i suppose, but it was totally nice. felt like it'd had a recent renovation. the only thing i wasn't fond of was the shower-head in the bathroom. the shower itself was fine, but the head which looked like it would be great (as it was like 10 inches wide or something) turned out to be awful in practice. it was like trying to shower under a mist. i never really felt like i fully got all the soap out of my hair.

This was a great hotel overlooking the river only a couple of block from the train station. Rooms were decent size, bright and modern. I would definitely stay here again. Only issue we had was room was not ready at check-in time and we had to wait about 20 minutes.

Loved the location on the river, a short walk from town centre. Comfortable, modern room. There were noisy late-night revelers along the riverfront, though (on a Tuesday night, even), and the elevator's groans were very audible all night, even though we were several rooms away from it. Many good restaurants within easy walking distance. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel.
