We were there for one night with our Great Dane. Our room was roomy, comfortable and clean. We were on the lower floor and close to an outside door for easy access with the dog. Breakfast was simple but good.
Our group consisted of about 20 people in town for a family wedding. The hotel was very good for us. The rooms and common areas are very clean. Service from all staff was excellent. They do a great job of serving breakfast that gets you started. Food is constantly refreshed and there is plenty for everyone. Our group stayed and used the eating area several times to just spend time together. The staff was always friendly with us. I would definitely stay here again when I return to the area.
We rented two suites here two years ago to visit family as we live over 1,000 miles away. We used the common patio area and gas grill to have a nice cookout. When we arrived on a Friday this year we informed management of the same cookout plans for Sunday but we told the grill was not working and was in the "process of being replaced". By Sunday the grill still had not been replaced so my sister brought her grill from home. Don't understand why management could not go the the Lowes down the road and buy a replacement gas grill. In addition, as the evening cooled off, we discovered that neither of the gas patio heaters worked. All this on the weekend before Memorial Day when you think amenities like this would be in top shape. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean except for an ant issue in the kitchen. Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating. The "Hot" breakfast was just OK. Typical coffee, juice, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties (which were on the cool side of warm and dried out).
In check-in twice in this hotel this month but the receptionist in not at all friendly. as she now your a not American, she give you a room with a view on the roof aven if you send e-mail prior to arrival. Before our compagny contrated a deal with this hote, I stay in Staybridge and the check-in was a pleasure with the staff there. any way the hotel is clean.
Stayed here a few nights this week for work. The room was clean with full kitchen and separate living room. Sign on the refrigerator says you can leave a grocery list and they will shop for you, leave it in your room and attach to your bill. This would be very convenient if you were there several days. The one drawback is the parking. there are very few spots close to the front door/lobby and there is no covered area (really no area at all) to park close while you check in. there are handicapped spots directly in front and a few "10 min" parking spots that seemed to be occupied by the same cars more than one day. Breakfast is included and is average - hot breakfast meats and eggs and egg whites , bagels, fruit, oatmeal etc.
The hotel was environment was homey and clean. We booked with another family, and as Marriott Gold members we were both upgraded to 2 room suites which was great! Bedrooms for all the kids and both couples! Hotel itself was quiet, not many people around. Took the kids swimming in the pool which they loved. Great Included Breakfast buffet. The rooms were nice, and full kitchenette was very helpful. Highly recommended for a short family getaway.
The property is much like every other Residence Inn that we've enjoyed. What set this one apart is everyone staff person that we came in contact with. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, to the dining room folks. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. We had a two bedroom suite so lots of room, a fireplace and a full kitchen. Shops are restaurants are close and an Olive Garden in the parking lot - with great take out options. Traveling over the holidays can be tough but the folks at this Res Inn made it easier.
We stay at this Residence Inn every year at Christmas time as our relatives live close by. Unfortunately this was our last stay. It literally took 45 minutes to find the assistant manager to check me in. He even left his walkie talkie on the front desk so the one woman that WAS on staff couldn't even reach him. The double suite we had booked one month prior was not available (at six pm) He did graciously give us a discount on two separate one bedroom suites but that's not how we like to roll on Christmas. The room was large but the mattress on the bed was literally sunken. Very very sad that this is a Marriott property.
This is the 9th Residence Inn I have stayed at in 2016 and sadly it is the worst. In appearance it looks like every other Residence Inn BUT it is clearly lacking in love. The exterior grounds haven't been maintained for the fall/winter. Leaves are piled everywhere and when you have a dog it is very noticeable. The outside could be quite nice in the warmer weather if maintained. There is lots of space and land and could be very useful if you have kids that want to play outside. Now here is everything else: 1. Pool - the pool almost can't be called a pool. It is 3 feet deep and quite small. No hot tub. 2. The lobby/breakfast/meeting area is okay but the front desk staff had no idea where the remote was for the tv and didn't even know how to manually change the channel (thankfully my teenagers were able to figure it out). 3. The fitness center is extremely small (2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike) and has nothing but cardio. The room is so small that more than one person exercising in there at a time would be too much. The equipment is very old and hasn't been update . . . no TVs attached to the machines. One tv in the room and there is no remote for this one either (like to lobby area). 4. The side door which is closer to my room is broken and you can't use your key card to re-enter. Guests are propping the door open with the trash can so they can use the door to take their dogs out. Kind of dangerous . . . 5. The heating unit in my room sounds like a train is going by. In fact that is what I thought it was until my daughter told me it was the heater. 6. Water pressure in the shower is poor. 7. The breakfast was sparse . . . most definitely the worst of all the Residence Inns that I have stayed at. 8. Location - kind of hard to get to. It is on a divided highway without a turn around close. I haven't left since I checked in so we'll see if I can figure out a different way to access the driveway because when I checked in I had to go about a mile up from the hotel to find a turnaround. On the plus side, the staff is pleasant and friendly and last night there was a Residence Inn Mix with desserts and wine. It was yummy and the older gentleman setting up was extremely friendly and accommodating. As stated in the beginning I sadly write this review because I am a huge fan of Residence Inn and it is my preferred place to stay when traveling. This location is just a disappointment.
