Quiet no frills hotel /great breakfast at diner next door

We had a very nice one night stay on our way to Denver from Green Bay. The woman at check-in was sweet and shy and very helpful but the man at check out was not terribly friendly or talkative. Penny's diner was a wonderful experience for dinner and breakfast.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and were disappointed with our most recent stay. Upon arrival, the one front desk worker was out front but working through some paperwork. Rather than set it down to check me in, he continued with the papers, without a word to me for approximately one minute (an eternity in the CS world). Then without looking at me said "Be right with you" in an annoyed tone, after which I continued to wait for *two* more minutes, during which time another customer had entered the lobby and was waiting behind me. The representative finally check me in, stated my room number out loud (big no-no), and sent me on my way with never a smile or a welcoming word. It's interesting how much this reception tainted our whole perception of the hotel. Plus, no pool. It wasn't awful, but we'll be staying somewhere else from now on.

I booked a room months in advance. My room was not ready until 10:00 p.m. The clerk at the desk acted like he was doing us a favor by having it ready by 10:00. Never again.

When we arrived we we told that the hotel was "overbooked" and had to wait 20 minutes before they could clean a room for us. Once in the room everything was great.

Refrig and Microwave unplugged when I got . Plugged back in myself.

dog friendly. convenient for cross country trip. very comfortable bed.

Beds...rock hard. Mold on shower curtain. No discount offered or given for Penny's Diner despite advertisement. Fine for one night.

Needed a hotel near RV park where family were staying. Middle-of-road pricing ($92) with new wing, clean comfortable room. Staff immediately responded to my needs. Old-style diner several yards away for b-fast (free coupon). Coffee re-fills & yummy french toast. Would stay again, other family members have previously enjoyed, too... Relieved to have moved after 1 night from the nearby low-budget option - you get what you pay for.

This is our second time staying here, and will defineatly stay again. Really nice & very reasonable plus you get a free breakfast for two next door at the cute 50's diner! Room was very spacious, decor very nice & king bed very comfy. Staff could have been better ( mix up on our room?) And hallway to room way to long! Hard on my bad knees. Otherwise I would have given them a 5 star.

If you need a quick stop while traveling then it's ok. The bed was awful. The best part of the stay was the coupons to the restaurant on the property that offered delicious food.

We stay here about 3 times a year. Quiet, clean, spacious rooms. Nearby penny's dinner is a real plus.

Clean, neat, well maintained no frills hotel--but a tasty breakfast at Penny's diner!

We just needed a nice place to spend the night and wanted someplace that offered breakfast, so we chose this place. After traveling for 9 hours we couldn't wait to get to our room and unwind, but when we arrived, we were told that the room wasn't ready because there was only one person cleaning rooms and he was behind. We didn't get into our room until after 6 p.m.

WE LOVE THIS HOTEL AND PENNY'S DINER ALOT!! Will stay there every time we travel I 80.

My room was dirty - the floor wasn't vacuumed, and clearly no furniture was moved to clean. There was a pile of stuffing behind the ancient chair, but to clean it up it would have had to be moved. Website offers free breakfast. What you get is a certificate for the nearby restaurant. Your certificate is good for your choice of 3 items. You could have 1 egg, 1 slice of toast, 1 strip of bacon, 1 sausage patty, 1 pancake, 1 waffle, etc. Really a rip off - even the cheapest hotels serve hot entrees without any limits. This was a joke! I wouldn't ever stay here again, there are better hotels that aren't any more expensive in nearby towns, the extra drive is worth it.

Looking for a relatively inexpensive room for our first overnight trip with our 7-month-old daughter, I chose this one because of all the reviews saying how quiet it was. It didn't seem any louder or quieter than any other hotel we've stayed at. I will say that although it was just off the interstate we didn't hear any traffic noise. We got a single room with one king size bed. Room size was the best thing about it. Could have easily fit two king size beds in there, so we had plenty of room for the pack'n'play and all of the junk I brought along (nervous first-time mom). Bed was fairly comfortable, A/C worked fine, fridge and microwave worked. The room was mostly clean, but there were some suspicious yellow spots on one edge of the bathtub. They were kind of hidden behind the shower curtain, which made it obvious that the whole tub isn't wiped down on a regular basis. The layout of the hotel is a little inconvenient in that it's sooo long and there are only exits at the ends. The hallway is definitely a little Shining-esque. The breakfast vouchers in place of the usual continental breakfast were a nice change, however, we didn't have time to sit down for breakfast the second morning so it would have been nice to be able to grab something on the way out the door. Overall, I've seen better, but I've also seen much worse.

Stopped here overnight on a trip to Colorado. The hotel was clean with very comfortable beds, and it was quiet. Perfect after a very long drive.

Room was fine but check in procedure was awful! We had two rooms that were prepaid, there was no one in front of us and still took 20 minutes to check in. She knew immediately where our rooms and that we had prepaid but she had to check two computers systems and do busy work before we could get our keys. Very frustrating, especially after a long day of traveling!

We were very pleased with our one-night stay. The room was clean with no issues found. The bed was very comfortable, and made sleeping much easier especially after a long car ride during the day. The location is perfect as it's right off the interstate, and next to gas stations and plenty of restaurants. Overall, it was a great experience.
