Nice hotel right off the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice affordable all inclusive resort.

I am a world traveler. I have stayed in every kind of hostel, hotel, and resort you can imagine with different travel budgets throughout the years. The hotel and staff here were fantastic, and by far the best group of people I have met in sometime on vacation. I went in May and the weather could not have been better. The only downside are the roads, so I would highly recommended having someone else drive - don't rent a car or take a taxi (pre-book transportation if you can before you arrive in Costa Rica). The hotel staff was amazing and actually helped us get a private bus to and from our locations (better travel and best overall value for transportation in the area). I highly recommend this hotel to any first time and returning travelers to Costa Rica. You will not get a better ROI than this property. Pura Vida!

Overall, our stay was pretty good and I would go back. The staff was very friendly and always gave smiles to our 1.5-year-old. Room was nice and the beach and location (good surfing) were good as well. Only complaint- I wish were there was more food variety. We were somewhat bored by the end of our week-long stay, as it all tasted the same all week.

Langosta beach is an amazing resort! The food, the room & the entire staff was great. Pura Vida!

Very clean rooms, plenty of variety at buffet, Limited variety of house alcoholic drinks, but helped when I added my own booze, staff very hard working. Was hoping to see more wildlife to photograph but not the best area for that in Costa Rica.

excelent expierence, staff at the restaurant excelent,, bar very nice attencion, five stars to this staff: neydy adina alejandra jose rivas

Comfortable rooms. Buffet food and open bars were more than adequate. Staff couldn't have been nicer. I loved the pools and beach. Great place!

My wife and I stayed at the Barceló 4/26/14 - 5/3/14. The grounds are beautiful with lots of foliage. Rooms were very clean. Lots of Monkeys, Iguanas and beautiful birds. The beach is actually pretty nice compared to many other Costa Rican resorts. Not the greatest for swimming though however there are many good surfers that congregate there for the break. Fun to watch. The service was pretty good and employees are friendly. The buffet food is actually pretty good. We didn't eat at the specialty restaurant. The resort is close enough to Tamarindo that you can walk there, either by beach or road. Tamarindo is a busy place with many things to see and do. We went fishing on a charter and brought back some Mahi Mahi that the chef cooked up for us. He did an excellent job. Overall, this resort is a beautiful place and is very relaxing, especially during the week days. It got a little busy on the Thursday and Friday before we left. This was the second time we stayed at the Barceló and it's one of my favorites.

I had issues with internet but staff tried to help as much as possible. The rates are incredible for an all inclusive and there is direct access to the beach. The food was OK,definitely not great but it was edible and for me thats not something that matters too much.If you are all about the food when you travel you will probably be upset here just being honest. Oh but all drinks even and mixed alcoholic drinks are included with this resort so Id definitely say for the value this would be the place to stay .

tourist trap, all outing were way over priced. I brought my golf club hope to enjoy some golf , but at $ 150 ,to $180 a round was a way more then I was willing to pay. At the tour desk all the thing one would like to do ,like see a volcano , zip line , or walking the jungle had prices that were through the roof. If your looking for a short stay to relax and walk the beach or enjoy the swimming pool , I give these thing a 3 star, but outside of the hotel the prices are nuts.

This hotel ground is beautiful with exotic flowers, plants, and trees. Our room was decent (like the picture featured). The bathroom was not swept. However, the rest of the room was clean. It was leaking from the vent and it was handled. An iguana was stationed on the branches outside our room. That was great because Iwas able to take a picture. Food variety needs improvement. Even though one buffet restaurant, it was accomodating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The spa experience should be utilized by vacationers because it was awesome and inexpensive. The beach was o.k. Took cab ($5) into town to shop and walked back to the resort (about 30 minutes walk along a dirt road). As T-mobile and Verizon cell phone customers, we were unable to get service for calling U.S. Iwas able to text on my cell phone (T-Mobile) at the balcony sliding door. There is a place in town that allows you to use phones to call anywhere for a fee. We went on the park-shopping tour. There is theater therefor nightly entertainment with audience participation.Tour guide was knowledgeable about animals. Cost for this trip was $75.00 for the full day including lunch. Overall, good vacation for us. Would I stay there again? YES!!!!!! This hotel is a gem.

Pros: - Rooms were ok! - Beds were comfortable. Cons: - There's something that is absolutely ridiculous here. The breakfast starts around 7:00AM. Before that, they offer a HIDDEN continental breakfast for 30 minutes (!?!). I said it is hidden, because there are no indications and they block the restaurant's entrance. The problem is that there is a gap between the continental breakfast and the regular breakfast. They close the restaurant at the time most tours and excursions leave the hotel. So you will have to leave the hotel without breakfast if you want to go on a tour that leaves around that time. - It's not in Tamarindo. You have to pay a taxi to go there. It is not expensive (about US$5) - We had a problem! The wind blew some of our stuff into our neighbors apartment. We called the front desk and they did absolutely nothing! They told us that we should solve problem on our own. They just ignored the problem. - Food is what you expect for an all-inclusive. Nothing is delicious! - Drinks could be better. - The pool was FULL of CHLORINE. The smell was very strong and our skin just got very dry! They should hire someone who knows how to take care of a pool. - Shower could be better. It is difficult to a flood in the bathroom. - You have to pay for Wi-Fi! - Beach isn't that good. Many rocks and strong currents.

Second day in this hotel I encountered a airborn virus which left me in a tailspin. Up all night and had a doctor come to my room. Called for medication and in a stupor forgot to lock the sate. You guessed it. The Maid got $150.00 US from the safe. Didn't see her the rest of the stay. I wonder why. Will I go back or use this hotel chain again. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER

I went here in April 2013 for 5 days. I had an absolute blast. The hotel is located right in front of the beach. The beach is very nice and great for surfing! Very secluded and far away from vendors trying to sell you things. Food was delicious. Wish there had been some more variety each nite, but overall still great. Room was excellent. Clean and modern with nice flat screen tv and marble bathroom countertop. I highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in/around Tamarindo! A++

Just got back from a short trip to Tamarindo with some buddies. We stayed at Barcelo Langosta and had a great time. The resort and rooms were clean, staff was very friendly, food was surprisingly good, pool was clean, beach was beautiful. Weather was HOT! Crowd was a mix of families and couples. Not many singles there. About a 20 minute walk into town on a long dusty road. After walking once we decided to cab it there, which cost only $5, so it wasn't a big deal. The front desk can call a taxi for you and it would arrive in about 5-10 minutes. Thursday night at Pacifico, Friday night at Monkey Bar, Saturday day at Le Club Beach. All great spots. FYI - Not all of the alcoholic drinks are included in the "all inclusive" package and WiFi also had to be purchased.

We really enjoyed our time. The location was great and the hotel was ideal. You cannot beat the price of this place or the value!

We spent a wonderful week with perfect weather, good food, friendly staff, and awesome entertainment. The beach was beautiful with amazing sunsets and the pool was clean and never overcrowded. We took two tours, the Blue River Tour and the Arenal Zip Lining Tour. Both were amazing!!! Long and bumpy bus ride (Costa Rican back massage) but certainly well worth it. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and certainly very passionate about their country and made sure we were well taken care of. The Arenal tour included an afternoon at The Springs Resort where we enjoyed the hot spring pools and an amazing dinner overlooking the volcano. The two tours we took were an excellent value which we booked through Jussy from the resort. The only recommendation would be to have an ATM at the resort but, the town of Tamarindo is only 5 minutes away where you have access to banking machines there. All in all a great vacation, good value, and will certainly return. PURA VIDA

The staff was wonderful. From the bellmen, waiters, the bartenders and the social committee all were friendly and so pleasant to speak with. The hotel was nicely groomed and had beautiful vegetation. The rooms were nice but we didn't stay in the room except to sleep. The nightly entertainment was wonderful. The only negative would be the food buffet, it was basically the same everynight.

Very nice staff, repair made quickly on my AC after earthquake, beach is small but there is a nice beack nearby that you can walk on all the way to Tamarindo. All the shops & restaurants are witin 25 min walking distance. It is at the end of the road but it's all inclusive. Food is good, coffee is great, only thing I didn't like was the buns [not freshly baked].

Beautiful resort with clean grounds and very friendly staff. We dont have much to complain about, we would go back.
