Stayed in August 2017 with Adventures by Disney, with family of four. Rooms are fantastic with screened in "Florida room" with hammock, then beautiful bedroom /bathroom area. Never had a bad meal (2 breakfasts, two dinners). Pool staff very accommodating. Front office 5 star service. Son thought he left headphones there when we left, and when we called back from the US, it was difficult to get someone to help check lost/found. We would definitely go back.
We loved how well this hotel is nestled in a forest-like atmosphere right next to the beach. The mini-suite we had was quite spacious and the airconditioning worked well. The staff was helpful and the on-premises restaurant was OK. On the negative side, the wifi was erratic and our room did nto have any table at desk height that could be used to sit and write or to use a laptop (perhaps as a hint that one is on vacation!)...
I stayed at the hotel with several members of my family. We had a total of 6 rooms all around the property. The positives were that the front reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, the grounds were lovely and my ocean front room had a nice view. The front desk can arrange a taxi for you to leave the premises and Coco is juste a short ride away and has restaurants and a fun night life. The other positive was that it was in a good price point for everyone that came. However, the negatives clearly outweighed the positives. The restaurant its not up to par in any way, breakfast is awful (and dark, why was it so dark?), dinner was mediocre. They were also wary to accommodate dishes and after two meals that were just awful, I bought bananas and yogurt for my room and never went back to the restaurant. The main waiter clearly did not want to be there and I dreaded having to ask him anything. My room was either hot or cold, the air had to be repaired once. The door of my room also had to be repaired. The furniture looked tired, however the bathroom was nice. Linens are a huge problem at this hotel. They run out of pool towels most days and admonish you if you don't bring them back right away after use. I stayed for 6 nights and they never changed my sheets. Not once. To say they began to smell is an understatement. Each night they just got worse. We spilled on the main blanket the first night (jelly) and the stain just stayed there clearly visual day after day. The pool is small, like really small. Monkeys around the pool were fun to see, but even they could not fix what was wrong with this hotel.
The hotel has a really great potential. It is well located, well decorated, elegant. Nonetheless, as it is described - and has the prices- " high standard", we expected a more polite staff, that the bar would have been more welcoming
My sister and I went here for a weekend getaway and just loved it!! The room we had was great, second floor garden view. The room was comfortable, the bathroom at the most delicious lotions and shampoos at our disposal with a terrific shower !! Each room has a little patio that is great for just hanging out and reading or having morning coffee. The restaurant has delicious food and I think reasonably priced. The beach is perfect swimming. Spa services are available and I could not help myself.. two massages in two days. And the service was just the best !!
We were a family of five. We had two rooms connected by a common patio. Our rooms overlooked the pool. The rooms were clean and spacious. We did not mind not having an ocean view. My mother-in-law enjoyed sitting and reading on the patio. Check in and check out were easy. The staff at this hotel were really nice and accommodating. For example, my husband caught Mahi Mahi on a fishing trip and the chef prepare the fish for us for lunch for a very reasonable fee. The hotel was only steps away from lovely Playa Hermosa. We really appreciated that they kept our portion of the Beach very clean. The hotel restaurant was awesome! I especially enjoyed the whole red snapper and the Neptune salad. My son loved the nachos. My daughter ate penne with bolognese everyday. My husband raved over the grilled pork. The happy hour drinks were watered down. But the service was always great. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Thank you Guiermo, front desk manager, for helping with every detail to help make our trip excellent! We arrived with no reservations and you welcomed us and found the right accommodations we needed. The rooms are very comfortable, pool is nice and lush like a jungle, and the beach is steps away. I didn't reserve ahead because I found it hard to determine which places were actually nice vs not in Hermosa. Well, my instinct was right on. Some places do not look nice in person but are advertised on booking.com with great photos. We checked one out nearby and the rooms smell musty. Anyway, to see my taste, we also liked the Arenal Springs Spa and Resort Hotel in La Fortuna. Bosque hotel is very good. And - I'm rambling - but the breakfast buffet this morning was also excellent. Fresh made omelettes, pancakes, potatoes, plenty of fruit, juice etc etc. Enjoy this wonderful place on the beach!! We did 🦋 I also recommend the snorkeling tour (Adolfo can be reached at 8830-8489, email@example.com - see photo).
We just came back from a continuing education trip here. The hotel is beautiful with luscious landscaping. The ocean front rooms are luxurious with jacuzzis on the balcony. The meeting room for our lectures was very accommodating. The beer menu is limited, but they have happy hour 2 for 1 from 5-7pm. The Wifi had average speed. The food in the hotel restaurant was very average. The pool had a lot of small bugs/ants.
Our rooms were wonderful (jr. suites). We had two rooms that had connecting patios which was convenient. Staff was helpful and friendly. Not the prettiest or cleanest beach. NIce pool. View from the beach of the surrounding area was pretty. Not disappointed. Clean an spacious rooms. Didn't have a business center but they let me borrow thier laptop to print our boarding passes.
This was definitely my least favourite hotel in Costa Rica but for someone on a tight budget this would be ideal. Stayed here for 2 nights. Beautiful location on the beachfront in a rain forrest with a basic pool area. Entry level room type has a box TV, no iron, hairdryer or even water in the room - the bed was however comfortable. The two room types up are a little more modern with flat screen TV's. Breakfast was shocking. 10-15 min drive from Playa del Cocco which has restaurant options and a couple of bars if clients want nightlife. Would only recommend as a 1 or 2 night stay max for someone that specifically needs this area on a budget.
