Nice and quite near a shopping store not a bad place to stay
We thought that this hotel was located on the beach, and initially were disappointed when we discovered otherwise. Within a day, however, we realized that we had lucked out. Close to many beaches accessible by automobile or bus, this hotel has a delightful staff, a gorgeous, large swimming pool, lovely plantings, and an excellent kitchen. I would choose it again without hesitation, were I to revisit this part of the world.
This was a great hotel. The pool was nice and clean. The staff was super friendly. The complimentary breakfast was delicious! The location was good for us because we had a car but if you don't have a car then it might be harder to get around.
This hotel was nice, with a huge pool. It is not near the beach, so make sure you pick the other Best Western if you want to be in Tamirindo and across from the ocean. Restaurant staff were very kind and hospitable. Beds were pretty hard & uncomfortable, but we were so tired from surfing every day that we slept well.
Playa Tamarindo is an overrated very expensive destination. there are better beaches and much better values in accomadations. Best western camino a tamarindo( road to tamarindo) is a very good example. it is about 6 miles to tamarindo and the same to playa flamingo and playa conchal. only 26 rooms with a huge pool. outdoor style (palapa) restaurant with variety of breakfast included. 2 miles to the small town of Huacas where a good sized market, pharmacy and other services are available at much lower prices than playa tamarindo. if you like excellent food at reasonable prices The Punta Tranquilo restaurant-known locally as the 3 B's is less than 2 miles from Best western. YOU MUST HAVE A VEHICLE. there is plenty to do within 10 or 15 miles. Note: be careful at car rental agencies at or near the airport. they will confront you with a mandatory supplemental insurance charge that could be several hundred dollars.even if you have cdw and ldw coverage from your credit card company. i am going to check on legality now that we are back in USA. hotel could use an ice machine available to guests.
First day was terrible, we had to switch room 3 times and had no ¨sorry for the inconvenience¨, however hotel in general was nice and rooms comfortable (no fridge nor micro and safety was small). Breakfast has 6 options, it is gooood!!! Day 3 we had a complementary Sailing/snorkling for the inconveniences of the first day, and it was a great experience. Location is good if you are not looking for party, like 7minutes to Tamarindo and near many other beaches if you are driving. We saw around 10 of them Danta and Dantitas are the best ones!!!
This hotel is located between Tamarindo and Cochal out in the middle of the Savanna which is great if you don't want to deal with the crowds of Tamarindo. The pool is HUGE!, rooms are clean and contemporary and staff very pleasant. Breakfast is OK, but if you are looking for a nice room with a nice pool for a good price, I recommend it.
The staff at the hotel was fantastic. They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Most were able to speak some English and a couple were excellent English speakers. Breakfast was included and had enough variety to keep it interesting for the week we were there. The location is a little inconvenient but the hotel paid for taxis to get us to and from town and restaurants. Overall it was a great deal for us.
I can only say that it was a pleasure staying at the Bestwestern Camino a Tamarindo. The staff is super friendly, extremely attentive and the front desk is always accomodating. The Tropical Room had a huge king size bed, 20ft ceilings and was very clean. I needed to get into Playa Tamarindo at an earlier time than the designated departure time, they helped me in everyway. Anything I needed I just dialed 0 and they would help me with it or I just ask to see what they could offer. Some people would like to be closer to the beach, I enjoyed the peace and quiet of being a 10 minute drive away provided me. The typical breakfast was great and the coffee was so good. If you are flying to Costa Rica, fly into Liberia Airport and take the TamarindoShuttle.com $20 shuttle. Which if you call the Hotel 's toll free number they will take care of for you. My only nit pick would be that the pool could use a more frequent sweep of the fallen leaves outside of that the place is perfect for some relaxation and relaxation.
